The red smoke entered the old manager’s room. The old woman was seated behind the desk. Her eyes were closed. The zero puppet in the red smoke form was puzzled.

It had been inside the room for some time, but the old woman didn’t make a move at all. The zero puppet grew suspicious.

It thought the Master was right in suspecting the old woman.

The old manager was in deep thought. She was not actually sleeping.

The old woman contacted an elder in the family and reported to him. The elder was another elderly man. After learning that someone was inquiring about the island, he was shocked.

He immediately felt that the Ironvale Family was trying to investigate the matter. He had thought Roland Ironvale would die soon, but he didn’t expect this new development to appear.

Like the Ironvale Family, the Dusk Family was one of the important wizard families in the country. The elder then told the old woman not to do anything.

They would handle the matter. After ending the call, the old woman sighed in relief. She sat down in the chair again.

They were all alerted, because they were one of the reasons why Head Roland of the Ironvale Family had gotten injured.

They were worried that the Ironvale Family might start investigating the matter. Earlier, they were quite happy that Head Roland would die soon.

But they didn’t expect someone to appear at the Ironvale Family right now.

I was looking at the face of Head Roland. Now, I knew that Head Roland was lying.

"Wizard Frank, what happened?" Talia asked.

Hearing that, I raised my eyebrows. I didn’t know what to say. For a second, I turned toward Talia and her mother.

Head Roland’s expression shifted dramatically. He didn’t know why he felt bad. He suspected that the masked man knew something.

He was afraid that the masked man might spill the beans in front of others. He didn’t want any danger to befall them.

"Wizard Frank, we can talk later if you want," Roland said all of a sudden.

Hearing that, I looked at Head Roland. Seeing that he was ready to answer, I nodded to him.

Then I said, "I know what happened to you. It’s not easy to cure, but I will try my best."

Talia and her mother, Florence, showed some relief.

"What do you need for that?" Talia asked.

Florence said, "Wizard Frank, if you need any magic treasures, you can make a request."

"I just need space for some time. I’m going to treat him alone. I hope you guys won’t allow others to enter the room," I said to them.

Talia and her mother looked at each other. They agreed.

"We will wait outside until the treatment is finished," Talia said.

"No, you guys can go to the hall and keep watch for others. I have something important to talk to Wizard Frank about," Roland said.

Hearing that, Talia and Florence understood. Then they left the room, giving the two of us space.

When they were gone, I turned toward Magic Lord Roland.

I said, "Head Roland, why don’t you tell me the truth right now?"

Hearing that, Head Roland’s face changed drastically. But he quickly hid his thoughts and said, "Wizard Frank, it appears your background is not simple."

"Yes, I know you were not poisoned by an ordinary magic attack, but by corrupted mana. Corrupted mana is found in old ruins and battlefields," I said.

Magic Lord Roland widened his eyes in disbelief.

"If I’m not wrong, you must have visited a similar place. But as far as I know, there are no old ruins or battlefields nearby," I said to him.

Hearing that, Head Roland remained silent. He didn’t say anything, because he had been totally exposed.

Seeing that, I smiled and said, "You must have gone to another place. So, what is that place?"

Magic Lord Roland said, "I guess there is no point in hiding the truth from you. Yes, it’s corrupted mana."

"A few people from the city and I went to an old island in the sea. The island is an old forbidden land. We had thought of exploring the place."

"After getting to the place, we didn’t even explore the outer area before we were afflicted by the corrupted mana."

"Not all of us were hurt, though. Six of us went inside. Three of us were affected by the corrupted mana, and two of them died recently. All of them were Magic Lords and held important positions in their families," Roland revealed.

Hearing that, I felt relieved. Now it was time to confirm what the island was called.

"So, what is the name of the island?" I asked him.

Head Roland hesitated for a second before saying, "It’s called Black Mists Island. Another name for it is the Black Mists Forbidden Land."

My mouth curved into an arc. Finally, I had confirmed the location. After curing him, I could go to the island right away. I wouldn’t have to waste time by staying here for long.
