I was waiting for the members to come. They were already five minutes late. But I had trust in the crimson scroll artifact.
It didn’t take long for me to see the silhouettes of Otto and the others. But their facial expressions showed they were tired.
"System, what happened?" I asked the system in my mind.
[Ding! The crimson chains binding their mana cores were active for some time.]
Hearing that, my mouth curved into an arc. They must have thought I was too friendly. But they forgot about the crimson chains wrapping their mana cores.
They stopped before me.
"Master, we apologize. We were a few minutes late," Otto said to me.
Then the others started apologizing one by one. Their faces showed discomfort. They must have been hurt by the crimson chains. The members were avoiding eye contact.
They realized that the person in front of them was not only their young master, but a terrifying wizard as well.
"Alright, you guys can go back to your rooms to rest," I said to them.
Hearing that, they agreed. None of them said anything. I didn’t even ask them whether they had found anything interesting or not. Then I put them inside the mansion one by one.
After doing that, I waited for one more person to come.
Buzz!
Just then, my device buzzed. I picked up the device and saw the name. I answered the call right after seeing the name of Manager Lara.
"Manager," I uttered.
"Where are you?"
"Lord Charlotte is here," Lara said to me.
Hearing that, my expression shifted. I didn’t expect her to arrive on time. Then I saw Lady Caitlin was back.
"I’m at the Central Plaza. I’m departing right now," I replied.
"Okay, get here fast," Lara said before ending the call.
I put away the device, turned towards Lady Caitlin, and said, "Lady Caitlin, you are late." But she was not showing any change in expression.
"I was on my way. But I didn’t expect those chains to hurt," she commented. Her expression was neutral, as if she knew the chains would hurt.
I smiled and said, "I don’t trust anyone."
"It’s true," Lady Caitlin uttered.
Then I told her to get some rest in her room. To that, she agreed, and I put her inside the Gregor Mansion.
Next, I left the spot and took a detour, avoiding the busy streets, and came to a less crowded road. I looked for a cab, but I didn’t find one.
After thinking for a couple of seconds, I used the flight ability to move in midair.
The people on the streets were taken aback. They didn’t expect someone to fly. It was only allowed for important people.
They understood that the masked man could be from one of the wizard families.
A few minutes later,
I reached the Magic Tower area. I flew towards the Silver Tower directly. I came across wizards who were going toward their towers.
My arrival drew attention from those people as well.
They were surprised at who was flying this fast. Upon seeing the direction, they saw that the person was heading towards the Silver Tower.
A change came over their faces. They had heard the latest news about Vincent Carey’s return. He was using a face mask to hide his identity.
They couldn’t help but wonder whether the person was the same.
On the other hand, I ignored the piercing gazes of the wizards and arrived at the Silver Tower gate. I used my badge to go inside.
I quickly walked up to the main door and walked inside.
I came to the lobby and saw a young purple-clothed woman wearing a pointy hat. She was none other than Forbidden Wizard Charlotte.
Charlotte felt the presence of the young man already. She raised her head and looked at Vincent Carey. She didn’t even greet him.
She began to observe him.
[Ding! Forbidden Wizard is scanning the host.]
I heard the system voice in my mind.
"Allow her," I replied in my mind.
The shield was gone before her piercing gaze hit me.
I immediately felt cold needles pricking me all over my body.
She was seeing through me. Beads of cold sweat appeared on my forehead. Not only that, but I also felt a sensation from my mana core.
Lord Charlotte was prying into my mana core right now.
On the other hand, Charlotte was inspecting Vincent Carey’s growth. But she was already shocked by his progress.
"This kid’s gravity rule power has already reached the limit. But his mana core development is lagging behind," she analyzed in her heart.
She had always thought Vincent’s talent was good, but still one step behind the heirs of the top families. But she had to change her opinion right now.
It was because rule power understanding requires talent. The higher the talent, the higher the comprehension would be.
She didn’t know what had happened. There were countless opportunities out there, and she didn’t want to pry into the details.
She now knew Vincent Carey had no problem with talent. All he needed were resources for core development.
"If his mana core reaches the limit, then he will naturally break through to become a Magic Lord," she commented in her heart.
She was satisfied with the progress of Vincent Carey. He was a genius of their White Silver Faction, as well as a powerful Sub-Taboo Wizard.
He had completed the missions so far with a 100% success rate. Not only that, but he had contributed to the recent Mage Union mission as well.
He had uncovered the identity of the enemy organization on his own. It showed his talent in investigation.
She was about to stop probing when several shiny runes covering the bones of the young man caught her eye.
"What is that?" she asked herself.
She probed the bones and recognized the runes. Her expression shifted. She immediately withdrew her probing.
She then looked at Vincent Carey with a complicated expression and a little bit of shock.
"This kid got a Forbidden Magic opportunity even before Celeste and the others," she commented in her heart.
