The protagonist brings his companions, including Lady Caitlin, out of hiding into Magic City's bustling Central Plaza to explore. While Otto, Patrick, Hank, and Old Man Rock head off to sightsee and eat, the protagonist stays with Lady Caitlin to help her register her identity and buy her a communication device. Meanwhile, Wilfred Cox meets with Susan Park and Jason Nicholson to discuss their plans to become Supreme Wizards, while news of these ambitious wizards reaches the Black Tower, where most elders and high-level wizards are unconcerned.

Magic City - Central Plaza

Lady Caitlin and I were exploring together. After one hour, she wished to explore alone. She had gotten used to the place in that one hour.

She wanted to explore other streets. Hearing that, I didn’t object. She was way older than me and had much more experience.

Not only that, she was a Magic Lord. She could handle problems herself.

After leaving her, I began to explore by myself. I wanted to find treasures related to gravity magic. There were random places where I had found special relics before.

So I wouldn’t be surprised to come across one here. I entered one shop after another, but I didn’t find any special relics in the magic stores.

I had the help of the System, so I was fast and thorough in my search. Yet, I couldn’t find one. By then, I had wasted half an hour.

I only had half an hour left. I knew where to go next. I stopped searching for special relics and headed toward one specific place.

The place was none other than the bookshop run by Old Man Martin. I came to the familiar shop. I saw the same shop buildings and eateries.

Life here was constant and normal. Finally, I arrived in front of the bookstore. I saw the shop’s "Open" board put up.

So, I walked up to the door and opened it. I stepped inside, and my gaze fell on the old man behind the desk.

The old man was none other than Martin. He looked the same. Then I swept my gaze across the place. I saw only a few customers inside.

They were reading books. They had to be his regulars.

"How may I help you?" The old man opened his eyes and asked.

Hearing that, I looked toward the old man. It was surprising that he didn’t recognize me.

"Old man, it appears you forgot about me," I said.

Martin’s eyes flashed with surprise. He recognized the voice.

"You are back. I just got the news. I didn’t expect you to visit my place first," Martin said with a laugh.

"Yes, the outside is not safe anymore," I replied.

Hearing that, Martin’s smile disappeared. He understood the meaning behind my words.

He then stood up and said, "Let’s have a talk. I will send my regulars out. They won’t be offended."

"No, I have only got half an hour. I have a meeting later. I just came here to say hi," I said.

Martin’s expression was serious. He knew about the current situation. He wanted to help this young man.

"So, did you find out the name?" Martin asked.

I looked into the old man’s eyes. He understood the meaning behind my words.

"Yes," I replied.

"Then I have something to share. What you are dealing with is way out of your league. You don’t even know about their true strength," Martin said.

"System, check whether anyone is listening to our conversation," I asked the System.

Then I got the answer that no one was listening, which brought a sigh of relief to me.

My gaze then shifted to the old man.

Martin saw the mask on Vincent Carey’s face. He didn’t know what was on the young man’s mind.

"Let me give you some advice. Don’t blindly follow their orders. Do your own research and investigations."

"I have been getting news that you have formed a little team of yours to collect information in a most ingenious way," Martin said to me.

Hearing that, I was not surprised at all. Old Man Martin could gather information.

"I just want to know whether they have an Elder-Level Powerhouse," I asked.

Martin nodded his head and said, "You are on point. So don’t attract their attention. Let your higher-ups deal with the problem. You have many more years to live."

"If you are bothered about the resources, then don’t worry. I have asked a few of my connections. If they get their hands on gravity-related resources, they will bring them to me," Martin said.

"Don’t worry. I’m measured. I won’t act unless I am sure about it," I said to him.

"Kid, that’s why you can survive the schemes of those towers," Martin said.

I looked at the time. The conversation had taken another ten minutes of mine. I decided to leave. But before that, I had one more important thing to ask.

"Old man, what do you know about the Black Mists Forbidden Land?" I asked.

"What?" Martin uttered in shock. His face showed a sudden, shocked reaction.

"Where did you get the name from?"

"That place is not even here," Martin said.

"Sigh!"

A sigh escaped from my mouth.

"I know the place is dangerous. Just give me the information," I said.

Ever since I had heard that Forbidden Wizard Erwin went missing in that place, I realized that the place was anything but easy.

Martin didn’t know what was going on. He thought the kid was investigating the Covenant. Now he was asking about the Black Mists Forbidden Land.

He had heard only a few things about the place, because that Forbidden Land was not located in their region.

He then said, "I don’t know why you are asking about it. But if it’s related to the outside mission, then you should avoid it. I only know a few things."

"I heard it’s an island. The place used to be the base of some old organizations. Later, something terrible happened there, a magic catastrophe. It killed everyone who lived there," Martin said in a serious tone.

I listened to the information, but my heart was not calm at all. Because it was no joke. The information was too much.

"That’s it?" I asked.

"I heard this from travelers long ago. It could be a rumor. Nobody knows. So you have to be careful," Martin said.

"Alright, thanks for the information. I’m leaving now. I’ll come by if I get a chance in the future," I said to him.

Old Man Martin nodded his head. Then I left the store and headed back to the alley. I hoped everything was alright with the others.

Soon, I got there. But to my surprise, no one was there. I was the first one to come back. I knew they couldn’t disobey the order. If they did, the crimson chains would hurt their mana cores.
