I shifted my attention from the rewards to the special mission.

"So, what happened to Lord Erwin?" I asked.

Hearing that, Manager Lara’s face changed. Her expression turned solemn.

"Have you heard of the Black Mists Forbidden Land?" she asked.

I shook my head and said, "I have been to a few other Forbidden Areas, but I’m hearing about this one for the first time."

"You wouldn’t have heard of it, because it’s not in our territory. It’s located thousands of miles from our territory," she said.

Hearing that, the first thing I thought was that it was going to be another long outside mission.

"So why would he go there?" I asked.

Lara said, "I don’t know many details. Lord Charlotte will be coming later this evening. You can ask her. I’ll report your arrival to her. In the meantime, you can rest in your room."

Hearing that, I said, "Okay."

Then I took my device and went to the stairs to head to my room. It had been a long time since I had used that room. It had to be covered in dust by now.

Lara watched him leave. She then returned to her office. After that, she contacted Lord Charlotte and updated her on Vincent Carey’s return to the Silver Tower.

Charlotte had no change of plans. She would be there in the evening.

I reached my room. I used the badge to open the door. The next second, I was greeted by a dark, empty room. I closed the door and turned on the lights.

Then I saw the clear state of the room. Dust covered the place. There were products that I could use to clean the room.

Before that, I used the help of the system to scan the place. The room was safe, with no hidden devices.

Next, I went inside the system space and brought the Zero Puppet outside to help. I ordered the puppet to clean the room.

The Zero Puppet reverted to its original form and began to do the job. Then I appeared inside Gregor Mansion and met with the members.

I told them that I was back at the Silver Tower Magic Lord. Lady Caitlin was the most excited. She had only heard about the Magic Towers and the Mage Union from others.

She had never been to the place. She was looking forward to seeing it.

"Is there any way we can see it?" Lady Caitlin asked.

Hearing that, the others turned toward me. It had been some time since they had been to the magic city.

"Alright, I’ll go to the central plaza to meet some old friends. Then I’ll let you guys outside," I said to them.

Hearing that, everyone smiled.

Then I returned to my room and changed into different clothes.

The uniform would draw attention. Next, I appeared back in the room. I saw that the puppet had cleaned the living room this fast.

I told the Zero Puppet to stop, then put it back inside the system space before leaving the room. Instead of wasting time here, I decided to go around and explore the city.

Like the others, I wanted to roam around the city streets as well.

I came to the ground floor. I called Manager Lara and told her about my plan. She agreed, but she wanted me to come back before evening.

Lord Charlotte was confirmed to be arriving later in the evening.

Then I exited the Silver Tower. I didn’t take the aircraft. Instead, I wore a mask and flew towards the street.

After exiting the magic towers’ area, I came to the main street. Like others, I stopped a cab and hopped inside. I told the driver to get me to the central plaza.

The driver agreed. Next, the car moved through the midair toward the destination.

On the other hand, the spies all saw how Vincent Carey was pretending to be like a normal local now. They thought he was going to explore the busy streets.

The news was shared with the higher-ups again.

The earlier news had reached the ears of important people, including the Magic Towers and the Wizard Families.

They didn’t expect this troublesome person to return. There were some forces who were happy, while other forces were not happy about it.

The forces connected to the Silver Tower were happy. They knew that the Silver Tower was doing well regarding the mission, though they didn’t know the inside details.

Still, they could tell from the attitude of the Mage Union.

Recently, the Mage Union had been harsh with the Elemental Towers. They had the largest pool of members; their contribution should have been higher.

Yet they were lagging behind. As for the Black Tower, they had powerful wizards as well, and connections with unlawful organizations located outside the territory.

Because of their dark magic, they had made a wide range of connections. Even their reach spanned to forces in distant lands. Their contribution is less as well.

Now, the news of Vincent Carey’s return irked them and the wizard families behind them.

The news also reached the ears of official members Susan Park, Wilfred Cox, and Jason Nicholson. They had mixed emotions.

Although the friendship among themselves hadn’t broken, they had severed their friendship with Vincent Carey because of the families behind them.

The family heads had predicted Wizard Vincent Carey’s time would be short-lived. But he had proved them wrong.

Not only did Vincent Carey become an official member in the shortest time, but he also rose up to become a Supreme Wizard, joining the White Silver Faction.

There was a difference in status now. Even with their Wizard Family status, they could not compare. Only the elders in the families could compare with Vincent Carey.

After hearing the news, the three of them spoke with each other and agreed to meet at Wilfred Cox’s coffee shop.

On the other hand, Manager Lara’s friends heard the news as well. They called her directly to confirm. But Manager Lara told them that he was back for a mission and didn’t have any free time right now.
