Gravity Mage with Level-Up System Chapter 2075: A Shift in Strategy

Darkmoon City
The Covenant members had gathered here inside the hideout. Unlike in other cities, the hideout was located near the posh area of the city.
Everyone was gathered here for a discussion. Everyone was present except for one member. That member was none other than Amaira.
The Senior Member was seated in the main chair. He swept his gaze across everyone and said, "The higher-ups have given new orders to us."
"They are going to send three Magic Elders here," he added.
Gasp!
Hearing that, the faces of the members changed. They had escaped from Rockwell City not long ago. Their whereabouts had almost been leaked.
One of their members was missing. He was probably dead.
The Senior Member noticed the expressions of the others. Even he had not expected to receive such an order. He had thought they were going to plunder another city.
"Senior, what’s the order?" one of the members asked.
The Senior Member collected his thoughts. He realized that he had not said anything yet.
"I don’t know the plan. But the higher-ups told us to receive three elders first. They will tell us what to do next," he said to them.
Everyone heard that, but they had mixed reactions. They didn’t know which Magic Lord Elders were going to come.
"What should we do until then?" a member asked.
"We have to lay low until then. Amaira is yet to come. She must be on her way here. We should not expose ourselves to the local authorities here.
"They might be on guard because of the situation at Rockwell City," he said to everyone.
The members were quiet, but they silently agreed. They couldn’t make any moves right now, which meant they could not plunder the magic stores and rob the wizard graves in the city.
The Senior Member saw everyone’s reaction and nodded his head.
From the information he had collected so far, he knew that Darkmoon City was more powerful than other cities. There was a Wizard Tower behind Darkmoon City.
That was why even he had to be cautious.
The Covenant was big. There were many elders with different behaviors. They could only patiently wait for the elders to come.
If they took any premature actions, it could piss off the elders. That was why they had to wait.
...
2 days later,
The Raven aircraft stopped a few miles before Darkmoon City.
Inside the aircraft, my device started buzzing continuously. I took the device out and saw the contact person was none other than Lara.
The members were all surprised. They didn’t know why the aircraft had stopped all of a sudden.
"Master, is there any problem?" Otto asked.
Caitlin looked up as well.
"Wait. I need to answer a call." After replying, I answered the call.
"Vincent Carey, where are you right now?" Manager Lara’s loud voice rang in my ears.
Hearing that, I was taken aback. I found a sense of urgency in her voice.
"Manager Lara, calm down. I hear you," I replied.
"Where are you at right now?" Lara asked.
"I have just stopped the aircraft a few miles before Darkmoon City," I replied.
"Don’t go there," Lara said in a serious tone.
"First, there are a few things to tell you. I have been trying for the past couple of days. The call just got connected," Lara added.
"I’m listening," I said.
"Elder Dana reviewed your evidence. She was impressed with your efforts. You have contributed more not only to the White Silver Faction, but to the whole Silver Tower," she said.
"You have surpassed Holden Barrett and other wizards in contributions," she added.
"That’s surprising," I commented.
"But Elder Dana is worried that other factions might steal your credit. So she decided to contact a few of her friends in the Mage Union directly."
"Yet she thinks she needs more solid evidence. She ordered you to change your strategy. Your way of using the appraisal team to collect information in cities was exposed."
"Now other Magic Towers know about it, including the Elemental Towers and the Black Tower. Darkmoon City ahead comes under the Black Tower."
"You could walk into their trap. It’s Elder Dana’s order for you: you cannot use the same method again," Lara explained in one breath.
Meanwhile, I was digesting every piece of information.
"Was it related to Rockwell City?" I asked.
"You are right. Rockwell City exposed your deeds," Lara replied.
"The attack on the City Lord there must have drawn attention from other Magic Towers," I said.
"Yes, Elder Charlotte also thinks that your team might be targeted by enemies. So you should be careful," Lara replied.
"Alright, thanks for informing me. I won’t use the same method. If there is anything else, I’ll call you," I replied to her.
Then I ended the call and put away the device. Next, I made a serious decision. I went to the members, explained the situation, and brought everyone inside the Gregor Mansion.
The mansion had many rooms. Lady Caitlin took a room upstairs. Similarly, the others went to their rooms.
Next, I appeared outside. I stored the Zero puppet and the aircraft inside the system space.
Swoosh!
Next, I appeared outside in the wilderness alone, wearing a face mask.
Since I couldn’t use the same method, I would personally collect the information this time, especially since the city ahead came under the Black Tower.
I believed that was all the more reason to enter the city.
Not only would I investigate whether the Covenant members were here or not, but I would also collect evidence against the Black Tower.
In the future, it could be used against them to protect the Silver Tower.
After figuring things out, I flew towards Darkmoon City.
About 20 minutes later, I reached the spot. I saw castle-like city walls built with heavy stones. I saw the gate and a considerable crowd outside.
Among them, there were wandering wizards as well. Since it was a city under the Black Tower, the inspection was going to be strict.
First, I decided to look around. So, I landed on the ground and started walking. I was wearing clothes similar to those of the wandering wizards.
