Amaira is sent back to Rockwell City to identify the enemy using mind control magic, while the rest of the group prepares for their next mission in Darkmoon City. Meanwhile, in the General Wizard Market, the stall owners are uneasy after the death of five criminals, and the Market Leader, Katie, approaches the protagonist and his companions to demand information about them on behalf of her superiors.

Market

While Hank, Otto, and Patrick were ready to attack, I decided not to make things worse.

"What do you want?" I asked her.

Hearing that, Katie’s expression softened.

"I just want your information. You know we have to maintain peace in the market. An unnecessary fight would disturb business here."

"The livelihoods of many people depend on the market," Katie said.

Hearing that, I smiled and said, "My name is Appraiser Frank. I work at the Appraisal Shop. The members here work as staff there."

"Appraisal Shop?" Katie uttered in confusion.

"Yes, that’s the reason. I came to the market to test my skills here," I said.

Otto, Patrick, and Hank relaxed their posture. Since Master had decided to deal with it calmly, they decided to do the same.

Katie collected the information. She didn’t find any falsehood in it, but she would still report to the elders. If there was any false information, they had ways to find out.

Right then, someone else made an appearance. The person was none other than the old woman from the book stall.

She was a Magic Lord powerhouse. Seeing her, everyone was taken aback.

Market Leader Katie stood up and went to greet her.

"Elder Caitlin, what are you doing here?"

"Did they cause any problems for you?" Katie asked.

Hearing that, my mouth twitched. Then I learned the old woman’s name as well.

"Caitlin," I thought.

Otto, Hank, and Patrick were puzzled.

"Cough!"

I cleared my throat and said, "I have decided to recruit her."

Gasp!

A low exclamation sounded. The members didn’t expect Master to recruit another wizard and a Magic Lord, at that.

All three of them felt the pressure radiating from her. The old woman was a genuine Magic Lord, and an expert in her magic.

The person who was most shocked was Market Leader Katie.

"Elder, are you sure?"

"Do you know anything about their background?"

"He just killed the group of old men," Katie warned her.

Hearing that, Lady Caitlin let out a chuckle.

She said, "I overheard the stall owners’ conversation. Don’t you know their crimes? It was good riddance."

"But...?" Katie was at a loss for words.

The old woman Caitlin was one of the market elders, though she was not part of the official council. Still, whenever they needed help, she had always extended a hand.

Katie didn’t want to lose her.

"Elder, they are just from an appraisal shop. They don’t have a prominent background," Katie said, changing the subject immediately.

"Appraisal Shop?" Caitlin uttered in confusion.

She had hoped their background would be greater. Learning it was just an appraisal shop left her slightly disappointed.

Still, she wanted clarification directly from the masked man who had made the offer.

Market Leader Katie saw an opportunity. She thought of something and pressed further:

"That doesn’t make your background clear. Who owns the business? Who is the backer behind it?" she asked.

Hearing that, the corners of my mouth curved into an arc. The other members were amused; they knew Master Vincent was deliberately teasing them.

"The shop owner’s name is Vincent Carey. He is the Supreme Wizard of the Silver Tower. The Silver Tower is one of the Magic Towers under the Mage Union," I told them.

The words fell like a thunderclap upon both of their ears.

"What?" Katie’s mouth hung wide open.

Even Caitlin was visibly shaken, a storm brewing in her chest. She had already assumed their background might be tied to the Magic City.

However, she never expected the masked man’s identity to be linked directly to the rulers of the Magic City, the Mage Union itself.

Even in her wildest dreams, she never thought she would cross paths with people connected to a Magic Tower. And the Silver Tower, no less, one of the strongest Magic Towers under the Mage Union.

Silence!

A heavy silence filled the area.

Otto, Hank, and Patrick smiled, knowing that Master Vincent was himself the Supreme Wizard of the Silver Tower, merely operating under an alternate identity.

"Are you for real?" Katie asked.

"Why would I lie?"

"If you investigate our whereabouts over the past week in the surrounding cities, you will see for yourself," I said to her.

Hearing that, Katie gulped. She wiped away the small beads of sweat forming on her forehead. She knew they weren’t villains.

She had expected them to hail from a local Wizard Family in one of the neighboring cities, but working for a Magic Tower Wizard was entirely different.

"No wonder he wasn’t taking things seriously from the start," she thought.

When she recalled the threat posed by the five old men’s backer, she didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. Worrying about it was completely pointless.

The power backing this masked man would effortlessly crush any forces from the unknown dark territory.

Beside her, the old woman Caitlin accepted reality. She realized the offer made by the masked man was no joke; he could truly fulfill it.

A Magic Tower possessed boundless resources. The Mage Union above them even had contact with extraterrestrial civilizations.

They could easily solve her lifespan problem. Not only that, but she could hope once more to break through to the next stage, to become a Forbidden Wizard.

Meanwhile, I watched everything unfold. Both of them had gone quiet. I turned my gaze toward the old woman Caitlin.

I was confident she wouldn’t decline.

"Stall Owner, have you made your decision?" I asked her.

Hearing that, the old woman gathered her thoughts.

Market Leader Katie knew it was over. Who would decline such an offer? Having made up her mind, she abruptly turned away.

Swoosh!

Katie rushed off to inform the elders, especially the Magic Lord elder who was currently monitoring their own Magic Lord.

Katie’s departure didn’t surprise me; she had clearly gone to alert her superiors. I shook my head and looked back at the old woman.

I waited patiently for her answer. It was a massive decision for her, so there was no need to rush. I then shifted my attention to the five crimson orbs in my mind.

Four of them belonged to the subordinates, and one belonged to the Vine Monster. I hadn’t subdued the Sky Crocodile with the red scroll yet.
