Covenant wizards attacked the city gate, overwhelming the local wizards and City Lord Robert with powerful, evil magic. Despite their efforts, the Covenant wizards escaped, leaving many affected by the dark mana. The protagonist, Vincent, captured one of the attackers and prepared to gather information.

Outside City Gate

Manager Lara was on the call. Jeremy Night explained the situation to her. It took him ten minutes to give a short, detailed brief.

Lara, who had been listening to the story, was totally shocked. She couldn’t believe so many things had happened in that city.

"I didn’t expect you to encounter a new situation again. I will tell everything to Lord Charlotte," Lara said to me.

"Good, I’m going to stay in the hotel. I will be expecting your call. I’ll plan to leave the city then," I replied to her.

Lara agreed. Then I put away the device. My gaze turned towards the city gate. Next, I began going back towards the city.

When I got there, I saw the city gate was open. The injured guards were being taken back to the medical center.

Right now, their replacements were standing guard here. I walked past them. After entering the city, I saw there was no sign of the City Lord or other Family Wizards.

Next, I picked a cab driver. I entered the cab and sat in the back seat. The cab departed from the place.

Meanwhile,

The seven Covenant Wizards were still waiting, but there was no sign of Wizard Tim coming back. Wizard Tim was known for having tricks.

He had a clever way of using magic spells. The scroll magic spell could even hurt a Magic Lord. Everyone was looking towards the Senior Wizard.

He was the only one who could make a decision on their behalf.

"We will wait till morning," the Senior Wizard said to them.

Hearing that, the others agreed. They had no problem with it.

...

City Lord’s Office

City Lord Robert was in isolation. He was focused on removing the evil mana in his body. He forgot about the situation outside.

He was focused on saving himself. He didn’t expect to be injured by evil mana. He had underestimated the enemy a second time.

He had felt the same evil mana from the first person who lit the buildings on fire. Next, he had come across other people with the same evil.

He thought they were all from the same group.

Meanwhile,

The officials started receiving calls from the Magic Tower. The higher-ups in the tower had tried connecting with City Lord Robert, but they had failed.

So they contacted the officials. The officials briefed them on everything. They were attacked by evil wizards, who had injured the City Lord as well.

He was in no condition to go out and meet others. The higher-ups of the tower wanted more information.

Specifically, they were keen on getting information on the evil wizards.

The officials, too, had noticed that the evil wizards were better at control and had huge battle experience.

None of their guards or family wizards were able to stand against them.

If they had wanted to, they would have easily killed them.

But the evil wizards were keen on escaping, so everyone survived in the end. The higher-ups of the Magic Tower collected the details and ended the call.

...

Silver Tower

Lord Charlotte had come to the Silver Tower. She was here because of Manager Lara’s call. After arriving at the Tower, she summoned her.

She learned everything from her. Charlotte next made a direct call to Vincent Carey. She learned that Vincent Carey was staying in the city.

When the call was connected, she began asking questions. She wanted to know more about the evil wizards.

They had captured an evil wizard because of Vincent earlier. Not long ago, Vincent showed them the puppet formation.

Right now, he had encountered the evil wizards again.

She once again heard the whole story from Vincent Carey.

A few minutes later,

"Did you gather any information?" Charlotte asked.

Lara was standing next to her. She was paying attention to the matter as well, because all the Magic Towers were looking for the enemies under the orders of the Mage Union.

"I came across a name. But I don’t know whether it’s an exact organization name or not," Vincent replied on the call.

Hearing that, Charlotte raised her eyebrows. Everyone wanted to know the organization’s name, because they had failed during the previous interrogation.

The other Magic Towers seemed to have failed in this matter. If they could provide a name to the Mage Union, it would be a huge contribution from the Silver Tower.

"What is the name?" Charlotte asked.

Manager Lara was shocked in her heart.

"I heard the word Covenant," Vincent said on the call.

But the name fell like a thunderclap in her head.

Her expression turned serious, because she had heard the name before. There were many wizard forces that had enjoyed absolute authority in their era.

Among them, the Covenant was famous. It was destroyed due to internal struggle, not by outside forces.

Later, they disappeared into the passing of an era. But she didn’t expect to hear the same name again. She felt two things were possible.

Either they could be descendants of the Covenant who survived as a hidden wizard organization all this time, or they could be from other wizard forces that found the knowledge of the Covenant.

The Mage Union had witnessed these types of wizard forces before. When it comes to ancient wizard organizations, there are few that stand tall today.

There are some organizations that continue to keep their legacy alive despite losing power and inheritances.

She then asked about the battle. When she heard about the scroll magic, her eyes flickered. She found it was another rare magic, but evil.

So far, only Supreme Wizards had made an appearance. What if the Magic Lords and the Forbidden Wizards from the Covenant appeared? They could really cause problems for the Mage Union.

Just a few wizards defeated the City Lord and disturbed the city. She didn’t know their exact numbers. She thought the Mage Union was taking this matter lightly.

Now that she knew the name, she would share it with Elder Dana. Elder Dana could directly talk to the other higher-ups in the Mage Union.

Charlotte then collected her thoughts and thanked Vincent Carey for the information.

She knew he had done enough. His contribution was higher compared to Supreme Wizard Holden Barrett.
