"Appraiser Frank, the city is not safe anymore. The masked murderer is on the loose here. Why don’t you visit our city?" A brown-haired, middle-aged woman said.

She was a businesswoman from another city. She was on an official trip here. She suddenly heard about the event and got an invitation to come.

To that, I smiled and said, "I will leave in one or two days. If possible, I will visit your city as well. Did you bring any items for appraisal?"

The brown-haired woman brought a bracelet with her. She placed the silver bracelet on the desk. The bracelet looked ordinary.

My gaze fell on the bracelet. I didn’t sense any magic fluctuations. Next, I used the system probe function.

The brown-haired woman’s expression was that of shock. She got the item as a gift, but she had checked the bracelet with other people.

Today, she came to appraise it on a whim. But she didn’t expect to hear such shocking news. She then collected her thoughts.

She looked at Appraiser Frank and thanked him. She then paid the fee before collecting the bracelet. She left the auction house.

On the other hand, I told the members that there would be a break for ten minutes. It was announced to the guests in the waiting area.

There were 20 or so guests here. They were influential people. The Zero Puppet in red smoke form entered the room.

"Master, I have collected the list of Supreme Wizards who have come." After saying that, the puppet began to speak.

I began to listen to the information. The Supreme Wizards who had come here were from wizard families. They were not from the Covenant.

When the puppet was gone, I leaned back against my seat and closed my eyes.

Otto knocked on the door. I heard the sound. I told Otto to come inside.

When he walked inside, he said, "Master, City Lord Robert has come."

Hearing that, I stood up and went with him to greet the guest. I exited the room and saw the other guests in the waiting area.

I nodded to them with a smile on my face. Next, I went to the gate and saw City Lord Robert speaking to the Manager.

My arrival drew their attention. I greeted City Lord Robert. But City Lord Robert was stunned because he saw the mask on the face of Appraiser Frank.

It reminded him of the serial killings that were taking place in the city. The mark left behind was a masked man.

But he shook his head. He didn’t think Appraiser Frank was involved in the killings.

"Appraiser Frank, it’s nice to meet you again," Robert said.

"Thanks for coming," I replied.

Then I led the City Lord and Auction Manager back to the room. On the way, the guests stood up and greeted the City Lord.

They didn’t expect City Lord Robert to come. But it showed that the event was important.

After entering the room, I asked them to sit. Then I sat behind the desk. City Lord Robert and the Manager looked at each other.

"If you guys have anything to appraise, you can give it to me. I’ll appraise it for free," I said to them.

City Lord Robert smiled and brought out a wooden box. Seeing that, I was not surprised.

He then opened the box’s lid. There was a small wooden statue inside.

A hint of interest appeared in my eyes.

Manager Lara had something to appraise as well. She took something out from her storage bracelet. It was not a magic artifact, but an old, worn-out book.

Robert saw that old book as well. He was surprised. He knew the auction house had its own appraiser. To think she didn’t go to that appraiser, he thought it must be personal.

"Alright, I’ll look at it." After saying that, I took the wooden statue and held it in my hand. First, I observed the statue normally.

The intrinsic design patterns were beautiful. Then I used the system probe function.

The system voice sounded in my mind. My heart stirred. I thought it was a work of handmade art.

I didn’t expect it to be made using a magic spell. The wizard must have been rich in business.

"Wizard Emily was the person who created this art. But she died three hundred years ago. Many counterfeit goods later entered the market."

"I bought this statue in the market as well. But I always had my doubts. I wanted to appraise it, but later, for some reason, I forgot about it," Robert explained.

Hearing that, my eyes flashed with understanding. I also learned about Wizard Emily as well.

"If this item is placed in an auction, it will go for millions. It will fetch even more if the item is placed in a nation known for wood magic," Robert added with a smile.
