City Lord’s Office,

City Lord Robert saw the reports as well. He was shocked. He didn’t expect anyone to dare to commit murder last night as well.

Robert’s eyes flashed with a cold glint. Not one, but multiple murders were reported. Compared to the media houses, he had received a full report.

A few of the wizard families reported a theft. Their shops were looted and all the expensive stuff, including the mana stones, was plundered.

More than that, workers in those places were missing. There was no sign of them anywhere.

Knowing that, City Lord Robert was even more troubled.

He summoned the officials to his room. They came into the room and stood in front of him. He then inquired about details from them.

There were capable wizards among them. He was confident in them.

An old man stepped forward. He was the most senior among them. Seeing that old man, the officials became quiet.

He said, "City Lord, I have investigated a few places and found a common point."

Hearing that, City Lord Robert raised his eyes. He signaled him to speak.

The old man said, "Among all the things, one thing was common. Traces of a Supreme Wizard were found in all the sites."

"Supreme Wizard," Robert uttered.

"Was he the same person or different people?" he added.

"I have checked the timings. They happened in different locations within a short time interval," the old man replied.

Robert’s eyes flickered.

He said, "That means there is more than one Supreme Wizard involved in the crime. They could be two different crimes."

"I want the list of Supreme Wizards in the city. Check everyone and find out what they are doing right now," he gave the order to the officials.

Next, the officials left the place one by one.

City Lord Robert remained alone. He pondered. He decided to go undercover tonight. He wanted to see who was causing the problems.

Next, he read another report. It was about the visitors from Crystal City. He read that there was going to be an event today in the city auction house.

It was the appraisal service offered by Appraiser Frank. He got the invitation from the manager there. He decided to go there later to take a look.

He knew that Appraiser Frank worked for Supreme Wizard Vincent. He needed to show respect to the Silver Tower. He could not show disrespect because of the ongoing situation.

City Auction House

I reached the place. After paying the fare to the driver, I walked up to the auction house. I walked into the place and came across the manager and the others.

They were all waiting for me. Upon seeing me, they greeted me.

The female manager was seeing the masked man for the first time. She greeted me with respect.

I nodded to her. I looked at the members. They were all ready to greet the customers. I spoke a few words to them.

I didn’t mention the killers yet. I didn’t want to influence the members.

I entered the office and sat down behind the desk. I leaned against the chair. I waited for the customers to come.

But I saw the Zero Puppet in its red smoke form appear in the room. The Zero Puppet returned to its original form. Then, it closed the door.

"Master, the customers have started coming," the Zero Puppet replied.

Hearing that, I thought of something and said, "I want you to collect information about the Supreme Wizards in the city. I’m afraid things will continue today as well."

The Zero Puppet agreed. Next, the puppet left the room.

Outside,

The customers started coming to the place. They entered the building. The members there guided everyone to sit. They were sitting in the waiting area.

Meanwhile,

The Zero Puppet in its red smoke form appeared outside. It began to look for the Supreme Wizards.

It didn’t go far outside. It continued to look around the auction house. The female manager returned to the room.

She noticed that a crowd had started coming. She would earn a good commission. She had also sent an invitation to City Lord Robert. She didn’t know whether the City Lord was coming or not.

As a manager, she sent the request, but she soon got a reply back. It was from City Lord Robert. He said he was busy right now and that he would come to the event later.

On the other hand, the Covenant’s wizards were quiet during the day. They were enjoying themselves. They didn’t care about the noise outside.

They were the ones who committed the crimes. Yet someone else was taking the blame. Their organization wanted them to target the cities.

They were successfully doing their job. Yet City Lord Robert was unaware of their crimes here.

But one person was different. That person was none other than Amaira. She wanted the city to burn in chaos. Yet nothing like that had happened.

Everything was going on at a slow pace. She had expected the mark left behind by the City Guard Captain would lead to the visitors from Crystal City.

Yet nothing like that had happened. She thought of a good idea on how to fan the flames. If things were moving slowly, then she would speed them up.

She decided to find the City Guard Captain and cast her evil spell again. Not only that, but she was also aware of the new killings reported by the news media.

She thought it was related to the other members. Everyone was acting independently. They were targeting businesses and collecting their wealth as well.

Amaira knew they couldn’t continue for long. The City Lord here was a Magic Lord. If he became serious, then they would have little chance to create trouble.

She decided to meet with the other members. Then they would decide what to do next. So far, attention has not turned towards them.

Everyone thought some random killers had appeared in the city. She wanted the same news to keep the headlines busy for the next few days.

City Guard Captain Roger was at his home. He was not in a good mood. The news had been reported by the media and the mark was found as well.

But they had failed to find a clue yet. It was pissing him off.
