Nighttime.

The Zero Puppet was searching non-stop. Finally, It came across suspicious activities. It saw the damaged doors of the shops, showing that someone had broken into them.

The Zero Puppet entered inside and conducted the investigation. The puppet came across signs of murder and looting.

The shelves and secret compartments were empty. There were stains of blood on the ground, but there were no corpses.

It continued to search, but it didn’t find any clues, including the marker reported in the news. So it was a new crime. It was unknown whether the same person was responsible.

The Zero Puppet recorded everything. Next, it left the place and continued to explore the city. It came across a few other similar places where the shops were broken into from the outside.

The wealth inside had been stolen, but not a single corpse or living person could be seen in the shop. The nighttime had made it easy for the criminals.

Yet the Zero Puppet uncovered a secret. There was a mark of intense pressure on the floor. The floor was sunken a few inches deeper into the ground, and the tiles were broken.

It found a clue that a powerful wizard had used this pressure. The killer used coercion to kill the people. It analyzed the scene and concluded that the killer could be a Supreme Wizard.

The Zero Puppet recorded the information and left the place shortly afterward. It had yet to uncover the most important information: the identity of the killer.

Time passed.

The next morning,

I woke up early in the morning and waited for the Zero Puppet to come back. I hadn’t started my practice session yet.

Not long after, the Zero Puppet entered the room in its red smoke form. It appeared in front of me and transformed into the Black Steel Puppet.

"Master," the Zero Puppet greeted me.

"Good, I was waiting for you. Did you find the killer?" I asked.

The Zero Puppet’s blue eye sockets flickered.

"Master, I have discovered a dangerous matter." After saying that, the Zero Puppet began to tell me everything from the beginning.

As time passed, I continued to listen to everything. I hadn’t expected the Zero Puppet to find another murder case. Too many cases had happened in a single night.

My heart stirred. I didn’t know who was killing right under the nose of City Lord Robert. City Lord Robert was not a Supreme Wizard, but he was a Magic Lord.

Maybe he didn’t know about the eight enemies from the outside, so he was ignorant. But I knew about them.

My suspicions were on those eight wizards.

It was hard to believe that the Zero Puppet didn’t come across them. All eight of them were Supreme Wizards, but the Zero Puppet was a Magic Lord-level puppet.

To think they were able to hide from a Magic Lord showed that their organization, Covenant, was no joke. I needed to take them seriously.

"You have done enough. The enemies are not ordinary people. I’m sure they will do something today at the appraisal event," I said.

"I want you to monitor the whole event," I added.

The Zero Puppet obeyed the order. Next, it transformed into red smoke and left the place through the window.

Seeing that, I was not surprised. The Zero Puppet must have felt the challenge; it wanted to find the killer as well.

Next, my gaze fell on the big screen. I thought of the breaking news from yesterday. I turned on the screen, wanting to know what had happened today.

The screen turned on, and the news began playing. Soon, a breaking news report appeared.

A hint of surprise appeared in my eyes.

[A new murder took place last night. The killer left behind the marker again. It’s called the "Masked Man."]

Looking at the same name, my eyes flashed with doubt. Why does it feel like someone is targeting me? This time, the locals were enraged, and the media was hyping it up.

They wanted City Lord Robert to take action.

Just as I thought only one murder site had been reported, another breaking news alert appeared. This time, it was a new site.

It was the exact site mentioned by the Zero Puppet. The news reporters had found out about the other killings as well and started reporting on them, but there was no sign of the marker.

My eyes flashed with surprise. Everyone was blaming City Lord Robert. I didn’t know what he was going to do next.

Then I turned off the screen. I took my device and called the members, telling them to go to the city auction house and make the arrangements.

After giving them orders, I appeared inside the system space. I walked up to the middle of the blue grid.

I sat cross-legged on the ground, took out a few super-grade mana stones, and held them in my hands.

Then I closed my eyes and started running the Gravity Arm Mental Method. Gravity mana from the surroundings entered my body.

I guided the mana along the route. The gravity mana flowed across my body, and after circulating, it entered the mana core space.

I continued to repeat the process. As the gravity mana entered the mana core space, the core absorbed it and began to strengthen as well.

I practiced for two hours. Then I stood up and appeared back in the room, heading to the bathroom to take a shower.

The shower lasted for 20 minutes. I walked out and changed into fresh clothes. After getting ready, I left the room.

I came to the living room. The members had already left, it was time to go to the auction event.

I put on the full mask over my face, left the hotel room, and went down to the lobby. The manager and the admin staff looked at me.

They must have heard about the auction event. I nodded to them, exited the hotel, and approached the cabs outside.

I spoke to the driver, and he agreed. Next, I entered the back seat of the cab.
