The masked man and his companions, revealed to be from the Silver Tower, were stopped at the city gate by the captain and his guards. After a brief confrontation where the captain was defeated, City Lord Robert arrived. Upon recognizing their identities, Robert quickly resolved the situation, forcing the captain to apologize and allow the visitors entry into the city, much to the captain's humiliation. Later that night, the disgraced captain plotted revenge.

Rockwell City

The old man stopped in his tracks. He continued to observe the person. He saw that the person was standing in the middle of the road.

He got the feeling that the person was looking at him. His eyes flared up in anger. He was already pissed off by the earlier incident.

Now someone was teasing him. He became more violent.

Swoosh!

Next, he bolted toward the place. As he got closer, he saw the person clearly.

The person was none other than a woman.

The old man was taken aback. He was ready to attack, but he didn’t expect the person to be a woman.

Still, his anger didn’t reduce, because the person in front of him was a Supreme Wizard.

The female wizard was dressed in black clothes. She was none other than Amaira from the Covenant.

The old man moved further forward. Then he saw the face of the woman clearly and recognized her.

She had walked into the city as a wandering wizard. His tense brows eased down. He didn’t know why the woman was blocking him.

He asked, "What are you doing?"

"Do you know what the consequences would be if a wandering wizard assaulted a City Guard Captain?" he added.

Amaira smiled. She and her team members had already entered the city as per the plan. The same person in front of her had allowed them to enter.

Some of them had watched the whole scene in the morning. They saw how the person in front of her had been humiliated earlier.

They had collected information from the guards earlier, so they knew the identity of the visitors as well.

They wanted to use the old man for their purpose, because they couldn’t act directly against the City Lord or the visitors.

Amaira watched the old man getting closer to her. Both of them were Supreme Wizards. Before the old man could ask anything, a magic spell was cast by her.

A dark purple magic circle appeared in the air in an instant. Next, a dark purple light shot out from the magic circle.

Boom!

In a flash, the purple light entered his forehead. Next, the magic power appeared in his mind as her spell attack came into effect.

She took control of his mind, planning to control him like a puppet.

She said, "Captain, you were humiliated today. The people responsible for it are staying in the hotel. Why don’t you go back to the hotel and take revenge on them?"

"I will take my revenge," the old man replied.

His eyes were completely black, and he nodded his head fiercely.

"Go and create trouble between them and the City Lord," she said with a smile.

Her words took root in the back of the old man’s mind. She broke the spell and disappeared from the spot.

The old man regained clarity. He looked around the place and found himself on the road alone. His memory was blank; he didn’t know about the events that had happened earlier.

The old man then started walking toward home.

Swoosh!

Amaira appeared on the road next. She saw the disappearing back of the old man. Her spell would work slowly.

Unlike other attack spells, her magic spell was different. After casting, the power would slowly influence the mind of the old man.

The old man already had the seed of revenge planted in his heart, and the magic spell’s power was slowly influencing him.

This forced the old man to change his thinking. Earlier, he was rational and worried about the consequences if he offended the Silver Tower.

But because of the magic spell attack, he forgot about the consequences. He started thinking only about revenge.

Hotel

In the hotel, I was staying alone. I had released the zero puppet to investigate the city. On the other hand, the members had left the city early in the morning to explore.

Late at night, the members began to return one after another. Otto, Patrick, Hank, and the old man Rock sat on the sofa.

They began to discuss things.

Knowing about their return, I left my room and went to meet them. I came over and sat on the sofa.

I began to listen to their conversation.

"Master, the city is not ordinary. I found many businesses, but there are Supreme Wizards in those companies," Otto said.

"I wouldn’t be surprised if there are Magic Lords in the city, but they aren’t showing themselves," Patrick said from the side.

"The locals are not weak. I saw many level-9 wizards. Even the children have decent strength," Hank said.

Old Man Rock was silent. He had been silent from the beginning. Others thought Old Man Rock was just acting as usual.

But I saw through his demeanor.

The old man’s expression was not the same. There was something troubling him. I decided to speak with him later.

They continued the conversation for a long time. After the discussion, everyone started going back to their rooms.

"Old Man Rock, I have something to tell you," I said to him.

Hearing that, Old Man Rock paused in his tracks. The others had already entered their rooms, unaware of the situation.

"I’m ready to listen," Old Man Rock said.

"I noticed something earlier. You seem to know the name Covenant," I said to the old man.

Old Man Rock was taken aback. He didn’t expect the Master to find out. He took a deep breath.

"Yes, I heard it from a certain old wizard in my childhood. The old wizard had vast knowledge of history."

"He once told me about an ancient organization that dominated the planet. The Covenant was one of those organizations."

"I don’t know whether it’s the same organization that we are dealing with right now," the old man said with concern.

Hearing that, I was not surprised. But I was interested in knowing what he feared.

"Old Man Rock, you are hiding something else. Don’t be afraid. Tell me everything you know," I said once again.

I was sure that the old man knew more.
