The old man greeted me inside. Hearing that, I was surprised. I thought the old man would check my card again.

As we walked inside the place, both the guards shut the gate. I turned toward the old man.

"Are you not going to check my identity?" I asked.

Hearing that, the old butler smiled and said, "Appraiser Frank, we already know it’s you. One of our elders had already met with your members before."

I nodded to him. It was easier than I thought.

"So you must have guessed my motive for coming here. I want to know what’s going on in your family," I said.

The old butler was taken aback. He didn’t expect the Appraiser to be so straightforward.

"We knew that the Magic Towers were looking for the enemy. But I can’t share the details with you. You have to meet the family head first," the old butler said.

I nodded to him. Then he led me directly toward the building where the family head stayed. There were many buildings inside the estate.

Soon, we arrived in front of the white building. I used the system again to check whether the place was safe.

After getting confirmation from the system, I entered the building. We walked into the place. The place was quiet. The old man then led me to the study room.

Inside the chamber, an old man wearing white clothes sat alone. After arriving in front of the chamber, the old butler informed the family head.

"Let him in!"

The old butler heard the voice from the study chamber. The family head allowed the guest to enter.

Creak!

The next second, the door of the study chamber opened. The old butler turned toward me. He told me to enter inside.

Hearing that, I raised my eyebrows. Though the system hadn’t found anything suspicious so far, I didn’t feel right.

The chamber door closed automatically. My gaze then fell on the old man.

[Ding! The old man is under the influence of an evil spell.]

The system’s voice sounded in my mind. Hearing that, my senses went on high alert.

The old man raised his head and looked up at me. I immediately felt something was wrong with him. His eyes were completely black.

His strength might be supreme, and it was already giving me a sense of crisis.

"Appraiser Frank, I have heard a lot about you. My name is Neil Flynn. Take your seat," the old man said.

Hearing that, I sat down in the seat.

"I know you work for the Silver Tower Wizard. You must be here to investigate the changes in our family," Family Head Neil said.

"Yes," I replied.

At the same time, I was observing him. He could attack me at any moment.

"Ha... Ha... Ha..."

Neil Flynn let out a laugh. His laugh was creepy.

"Well, I can share the details with you. But before that, I want you to appraise a few objects for me." After saying that, he took a few things out from inside his storage bracelet.

He placed those things on the table.

My gaze fell on those objects. The hair on my arms stood up. At the same time, the system started alerting me.

[Ding! Cursed objects detected.]

[Ding! Any contact will trigger the objects.]

After hearing the system’s voice, I understood that it was time to take action. Family Head Neil Flynn was not sane.

Neil Flynn saw the neutral face of Appraiser Frank.

Seeing that I was staying silent, Neil asked, "Appraiser Frank, if you help me, then I’ll tell you everything."

Hearing that, I raised my head and looked toward him.

"You know what? You’ll have to tell me even if I don’t help you," I said in a calm tone.

Neil Flynn was taken aback. He didn’t expect to hear such an answer. He was waiting for Appraiser Frank to take the bait.

His eyes began to grow darker. Mana pressure leaked from his body.

Next, blue magic circles appeared before him.

"Water Arrow"

The old man cast an instant magic spell. Water arrows shot from the magic circles. It happened fast.

On the other hand, my eyes turned cold. I didn’t expect the old man to make the first move and with an instant-cast magic spell at that. He realized that I wouldn’t fall for his trap.

"Repulsive Force"

I released the same instant-cast magic. A repulsive magic force burst from my body.

Boom!

In the blink of an eye, the water arrows came in contact with the repulsive force.

The water arrows were destroyed upon contact. The residual repulsive force and shockwave spread across the room, destroying the desk, bookshelves, and walls.

The shock force continued forward and hit the body of the family head. Neil Flynn was flung backward before hitting the wall.

Boom!

The four walls of the study chamber couldn’t withstand the pressure. They broke instantly.

I didn’t even look at the situation of the Family Head.

Instead, I turned toward the exit and saw the old butler trying to enter inside. He revealed killing intent as well.

"Gravity Blast"

A gray beam shot from my forefinger. In the blink of an eye, the beam traveled in a straight line.

Before the old man could do anything, the gray beam struck him. The next second, the old butler was blasted away by the power.

In a flash, he crashed into the ground as well. He was dead from the attack.

Next, my gaze turned toward the Family Head. I stood up and walked up to him. I saw his body under the rubble.

He had only a lingering breath left. I put him inside the Gregor Mansion. Then my gaze fell on the cursed objects. They were lying on the ground.

If I touched them, they would be triggered. I didn’t want to use a zero puppet either. The meeting hadn’t gone well. After scanning the room with the system, I left the place.

The destruction alarmed the estate’s people. Everyone was rushing toward the Family Head Building. On the other hand, I left the place using my flight ability.
