The Black Tower's higher-ups failed to locate Forbidden Wizards Erwin and Charlotte, lamenting their missed chance to eliminate Wizard Vincent, whose rapid growth alarms them. Forbidden Wizard Remi, haunted by past underestimation, sought a Fate Wizard's aid but was rejected by superiors; he then ventured into dark territory to consult a Dark Faction ally. In Crystal City, Vincent received an urgent mission from Silver Tower elders, instructing his shop staff to manage operations and continue intel gathering from the informer while he departs.

Shop

Otto accepted the assignment. He promised to gather intelligence on a regular basis and report to me over calls. I reminded the others once more to stay vigilant.

Should they stumble upon anything too difficult to manage, reaching out to the Infinite Wizard Association is an option.

Our organization partners with the Wizard Association on business matters.

They ought to get in touch with Assistant Jonah for assistance. If things escalate further, contacting Manager Lara becomes necessary.

She would surely rush to their aid. With preparations set, I departed from the shop without a sound. Prior to exiting the city, I deployed a Zero Puppet externally.

I aimed to avoid detection or trailing by anyone. Soon enough, the Zero Puppet identified a secure route leading beyond the city limits.

No spies lurked in that area. The red smoke darted back and forth repeatedly to ensure safety before returning to its controller.

Meanwhile, I stored the Zero Puppet within the Gregor Mansion and proceeded along the path indicated by the puppet.

A few minutes passed,

I arrived at the street's end. From the system space, I retrieved another mask and donned it.

The white mask went back into the system space.

Next, a small black gate came into view. Positioned at the city's rear, it stood deserted at the moment.

I withdrew the puppet into the system space.

Opening the gate, I stepped through to the outside. The Raven Aircraft emerged from storage. I climbed into the cockpit and initiated takeoff.

Swoosh!

The craft lifted off from the spot. Heading straight for Magic City, the Raven Aircraft sped away.

Many recognize the aircraft. Yet it doesn't bother me. Previously, folks had only witnessed Manager Lara piloting it.

Time flew by.

Several hours later, the Raven Aircraft arrived at Magic City. Carefully, I guided it toward the Silver Magic Tower.

The aircraft penetrated the Magic Tower's vicinity. Shortly thereafter, it touched down before the Silver Tower.

The Raven Aircraft stopped completely. Exiting, I sealed the cockpit and stored the craft inside the Gregor Mansion.

Approaching the Silver Tower's entrance, I presented my badge. Barriers lifted instantly.

With that, I entered. This time, a new mask concealed my features. Spies outside would struggle to identify me.

Outside,

Indeed, watchers kept tabs on every magic tower. They recorded arrivals and officials alike.

This occasion brought the Raven Aircraft into sight again. Recognizing it as Manager Lara's, they anticipated her emergence.

Shock rippled through them as a masked figure disembarked instead. The mask displayed a different hue.

Linking him swiftly to Appraiser Frank proved impossible. Verification at the shop would confirm his whereabouts, they reasoned.

Meanwhile,

In the living quarters, I encountered Manager Lara. We settled across from one another.

"It appears your business is booming," she remarked.

Her words prompted me to arch an eyebrow while scanning the surroundings.

Lara discerned my suspicion and clarified, "No one occupies the Silver Tower at present. Relax."

Relief washed over me.

"What’s the mission?" I inquired.

Lara produced a device and passed it to me.

Taking hold of it, I examined the joint declaration from the White Silver Faction elders.

My name appeared alongside the mission specifics. I started perusing the details.

[Mission for Supreme Wizard Vincent: Go to the Opal Rainforest and collect the rare black opal magic gemstones.]

[Time limit: One year.]

Finishing the read, turmoil stirred in my chest. A full year as the deadline caught me off guard.

This assignment stretched into a prolonged endeavor.

Lara noted my concern and explained, "Now you see why I urged you to return immediately."

"Where exactly is this forest?" I questioned her.

Lara requested the device back. I handed it over. She transferred the mission details to my own device, then displayed the map.

Locating the Magic Opal Rainforest, she revealed an expansive forested region. Nothing but wilderness filled that vast territory.

To access the forest, travelers must journey to the continent's edge, traverse the ocean, and set foot on the opposite shore.

That opposing landmass marked the Magic Opal Rainforest's domain. Rumors of the enchanted woods had reached her ears before.

However, no Silver Tower member had undertaken tasks there. She suspected few from the Mage Union had ventured into it either.

"The Magic Opal Rainforest lies 11,000 miles away," she stated.

"Crossing the sea leads to the far shore, where the Magic Opal Rainforest truly begins," she continued.

Storms raged within my heart. Seas remained a mystery to me—I'd only known vast lakes and ponds. Adventure awaited in uncharted realms.

Excitement and anticipation surged through me. Embracing this mission might prove worthwhile. New magical wonders of the world beckoned.

Prior unease faded away. Readiness to launch into the mission now burned brightly within me.

"When should I depart?" I questioned her.

Manager Lara appeared stunned for a moment.

She followed up, "Are you not worried?"

"The mission might be dangerous. So you have to be careful. In case of any emergency, it would take time for us to send people," she continued.

"Don’t worry. I’m going to be fine," I assured her.

"Tell me about the magical opal stones. Where can I find them?" I inquired.

"You can find them in the middle of the forest. In the old era, the place used to be a sea with an active volcano beside it."

"Now that inland sea has dried up completely. The volcano is no longer active. The forest has overtaken the entire area," she elaborated.

That revelation left me astonished.

"How did the forest manage to take over the place?" I pressed her.

"We don’t have much history recorded about the place. So we don’t know what’s in there. So you have to be careful," Lara cautioned.

"I know. Just provide the resources for my journey, including the super-grade mana stones," I told her.
