Forbidden Wizard Remi from the Black Tower stationed himself at the border to intercept Wizard Vincent, deploying Magic Lords across all exits from the territory. In Crystal City, Appraiser Frank received intelligence confirming the Black Tower's movements aimed at capturing a target. As the Black Tower grew impatient outside the city, suspecting aid from Silver Tower's White Silver faction, the appraisal shop operated amid growing rumors of Vincent's disappearance.

Black Tower

The Black Tower's leaders attempted to pinpoint the positions of Forbidden Wizards Erwin and Charlotte.

Yet, they couldn't uncover a single trace. The duo's locations stay shrouded in mystery. Even those from the Silver Tower likely remain in the dark about where they are.

Regrettably, the chance to seize and destroy the targets slipped away. No one knows the consequences if Wizard Vincent shows up again.

Wizard Vincent revealed his might as a Supreme Wizard. His power level got verified by all. What his strength might reach next time remains unknown.

Wizard Vincent advances at an astonishing pace. It mirrors the rapid rise of genius talents from elite wizard clans.

The leaders felt deep disappointment. Upon hearing the update, Forbidden Wizard Remi was stunned. He refused to let the moment pass unused.

Uncertain of the target's next appearance, Remi sought to verify the information. He urged them to employ a Fate Wizard's abilities.

A Fate Wizard can swiftly pinpoint any target. This would confirm if the individual had departed the city. However, the leaders turned down his plea.

Securing time with a Fate Wizard is no simple task to begin with. Moreover, their services come at a steep price, not even free for Forbidden Wizards like them.

The leaders lack the unity to squander resources on this. Should they desire to eliminate Supreme Wizard Vincent, they could strike whenever ready.

Thus, most dismissed the proposal. Forbidden Wizard Remi was shocked once more upon receiving the response.

He hadn't anticipated the leaders' shift in stance. They lacked his intensity. No willingness existed to expend resources.

Remi grasped their reasoning, yet a ominous premonition gripped him. He aimed to leave no openings for Wizard Vincent.

He'd committed that error previously by underestimating the youth. Now, the kid had ascended to Supreme Wizard status.

Thus, reluctance filled him. Reality stayed unchanged, though. Without locating the person, action proved impossible.

After moments of contemplation, Remi devised a plan. He knew a Fate Wizard from the Dark Faction.

Previously, that ally had helped track Wizard Vincent, back when the youth was merely a wizard-seed.

Remi resolved to consult that same Fate Wizard again. The man was elderly. Remi also requested a substitute.

A Magic Lord arrived to take his place. Remi instructed the arrival to remain there, then departed the borderlands.

He headed into the shadowy unknown territory to meet the Fate Wizard. Only after gaining insights from the Fate Wizard would he plot the following steps.

Crystal City - Shop

Time flew by.

Inside the office, I observed customers arriving steadily in good numbers. Should this trend hold for the coming weeks, the shop's success would explode.

Buzz!

Suddenly, my device buzzed to life. I pulled it out and checked the caller: Manager Lara.

I picked up immediately.

"Manager Lara, what's up?" I inquired.

Silence lingered for a few seconds.

"Vincent, the leaders have tasked you with a mission. You must depart Magic City right away," Lara delivered the update.

The words left me frozen. Such timing for the mission caught me off guard.

"I realize this hits you abruptly. But the decision stands from above. Even Lords Erwin and Charlotte can't intervene," Lara explained.

"Higher-ups?" I muttered.

"Correct, White Silver faction elders have issued your first mission. Completing it well will leave a strong mark," Lara added.

"Got it," I responded.

Truthfully, I'd anticipated a mission eventually. Its arrival felt excessively swift, though.

"Alright. Head to the Silver Tower to receive the details," Lara concluded, hanging up.

I stored the device back in my storage bracelet.

Rising, I gazed out the window. Evening had fallen. A thought struck me, prompting a call to Assistant Jonah.

Jonah picked up promptly. I informed him of my new assignment and impending departure from the city. They should keep gathering antiques as before; I'd evaluate them all later.

Jonah expressed surprise but recognized it might signal a major deal. He consented.

Next, I stressed continuing the intelligence exchange. Top-quality info was mandatory.

Any decline in intel standards would end their involvement. Jonah caught the implication fully.

He promised the informer would withhold nothing, delivering premium details ongoing.

I noted that a staff member would be on the terrace that night. The informer should pass info there.

After I finished explaining everything, I hung up the call. Next, I called the members into my room. Luckily, I hadn't deployed Zero Puppet today. I'd nearly overlooked that fact.

Moments later:

Otto, Patrick, Hank, along with old man Rock, stepped into the room. Once more, I activated the probe function to scan their conditions. Everyone appeared perfectly healthy.

This means I could safely entrust the shop's operations to them.

"I've accepted a mission from the Silver Tower. I'm departing right away. But first, I'm handing the shop over to all of you," I declared.

Gasp!

Shock rippled through the members. None of them knew how to proceed in Master Vincent's absence.

Old man Rock regained his composure.

He declared, "Master Vincent, feel free to go. I'll safeguard the shop and everyone here. Nobody will dare assault it."

Otto, Patrick, and Hank chimed in successively with their support. They stood prepared to manage the shop.

"Alright, Otto, I've got one additional assignment for you," I stated.

"What's that, Master?" Otto inquired.

I proceeded to brief him on the informer. He serves as a spy for the Infinite Wizard Association. He'll pass along the intelligence as per our agreement.
