That night, the store had closed down. Every customer departed the premises. The team members recovered fully. They were prepared to resume duties the next morning.
I lingered until midnight struck. Red smoke slipped through the window slit, materializing right before me. It shifted form into the Zero Puppet.
The Zero Puppet commenced its report. The mission achieved complete success.
A few minutes later,
A radiant grin lit up my face. The Zero Puppet delivered without fail. It uncovered the Black Tower's scheme.
Gathering my focus, I stored the puppet within the mansion. I exited the chamber and ascended to the rooftop terrace.
I awaited the informer's arrival. Yet, my mind drifted to the Black Tower. Their goal was drawing me out of the Mage Union Territory.
"Harumph," I snorted coldly within.
I'm certain wizards patrol beyond the territory borders. Discovering Forbidden Wizard Remi among them wouldn't shock me.
Swoosh!
At that moment, the system notified me of an entry into the community. My eyes locked onto the field in front.
A dark silhouette advanced toward the house.
A couple of seconds later,
The dark silhouette solidified into the Black-Clad Wizard.
"Everyone awaits action from the Silver Tower and Mage Union. Yet no updates have emerged from them."
"The other Magic Towers hesitate. They want to witness the Mage Union's response first," the Black-Clad Wizard reported.
Upon hearing this, I stayed silent. I offered no remarks.
A few minutes later,
"Good, you can go now," I instructed him.
The Black-Clad Wizard nodded, then dissolved into a black shadow. The shadow departed swiftly.
In the blink of an eye, he vanished from the Crystal Community.
Phew!
I exhaled in relief. All progressed smoothly. This intelligence positioned me ahead of the rest.
Now informed of the Black Tower's schemes, I planned to switch to an alternate identity by morning.
I'd already notified the others that Appraiser Frank left for vital tasks.
"It’s time for him to return," I murmured to myself.
Then I headed back to my room.
The following day,
I awoke at dawn. Rising from bed, I completed my morning routine. It spanned a full hour.
Next, I settled in the room for meditation. I retrieved several super-grade mana stones. Grasping them in my hand, I initiated the Gravity Ark Mental Method.
Gravity mana from the ambient air flowed into my body. Gravity mana from the stones surged in too.
I directed the gravity mana along the path outlined in the mental method. The mana coursed throughout my frame.
Following the cycle, refined gravity mana flowed into the mana core space. The gravity mana core devoured it all.
It absorbed every bit. I repeated the process relentlessly. I halted only upon sensing my limits.
Shifting focus, I immersed in the gravity rule power. I devoted an hour to advancing my comprehension.
I stepped into the bathroom for a shower. The refreshing bath endured 20 minutes.
Emerging, I changed into fresh garments. A white magic mask veiled my face.
Time passed.
Once prepared, I departed the room. Descending downstairs, I checked on the others. Hank, Patrick, and Otto showed full recovery.
They lounged in the living room. Old Man Rock accompanied them.
"Master," they chorused upon spotting me.
I nodded in acknowledgment, then deployed the system probe on them. Their health stats appeared on the interface.
I verified full recovery from injuries, bolstered by their vitality and healing magic resources.
They now operated at peak performance.
I announced my intent to adopt an alternate identity henceforth. If queried, they should claim Wizard Vincent Carey had departed the premises.
The members grasped it instantly. No further need for the Master to expose his true identity.
Time passed.
As the shop flung open, patrons streamed in routinely. They noted the new hires gone. The original staff manned their posts.
They rejoiced. Moreover, Appraiser Frank had reappeared. The proprietor, Wizard Vincent, remained absent.
Speculation brewed that Wizard Vincent departed. As a Supreme Wizard, urgent missions surely beckoned him.
Thus convinced, they beamed at Appraiser Frank's presence. He proved approachable.
Appraiser Frank was easy to talk to compared to the Silver Tower’s Supreme Wizard.
With time, crowds swelled, eager for my appraisals.
I assessed items at fair rates. Satisfied clients exited one after another. Rumors rapidly spread beyond.
Swiftly, Crystal City locals caught wind. Delight and astonishment filled them at Appraiser Frank's return.
A few of them skipped it due to the Green Elemental Tower. They lacked familiarity with Wizard Vincent.
Now that Appraiser Frank had returned, they gathered their antiques and headed to the Crystal Community.
Meanwhile,
Infinite Wizard Association Leader Edmund received word of the news.
"Ha... Ha... Ha...," a laugh of pure relief burst from him.
Numerous missions had piled up for him, all tied to antiques. Disappointment had gripped him ever since learning that Appraiser Frank departed for a vital mission.
He had waited eagerly for his return. It wasn't that he distrusted Wizard Vincent, yet he had tested Appraiser Frank's abilities himself.
Thus, his confidence in Frank ran deeper. Edmund gathered his wits and hurried to arrange a meeting with Appraiser Frank.
Aware that many others like him sought Appraiser Frank, he resolved to be first in line. Without delay, he called for his assistant.
Assistant Jonah hurried to his side.
"I heard Appraiser Frank is back from his mission. Go meet him and secure an appointment. We have tons of products waiting for his appraisal," Edmund instructed him.
