I set down the black skull and the banned red book on the table. At that very moment, a sinister red mana burst out from both forbidden objects.
The room got filled with it right away. Any other person would have passed out or died instantly.
Noticing this, Erwin quelled the aura emanating from them. The vicious red aura vanished in the following instant.
Afterward, he grabbed the black skull with his bare hands. It had no effect on him whatsoever. He examined it with close scrutiny instead.
"To think the Green Elemental Tower used this to try to frame you. But they failed in the end," Erwin remarked.
"It’s good that you didn’t let others inspect you. If they had caught you with this item, you would have ended up in serious danger," Erwin said gravely.
He understood the history of SunHaven City and these banned items. Such items possessed the might to slay Magic Lords and even injure Forbidden Wizards.
However, he saw Vincent Carey dealing with the item casually. Then it hit him that its power had faded over time.
Composing himself, he stated, "If you don’t mind, I’ll keep this item. It’s not safe for you to have these banned items with you."
"Even Forbidden Wizards will be tempted," he continued.
"Lord, you can keep it," I answered.
Erwin stored away the banned items next. No more troubles would come after this. Moments later, he rose to depart.
"Alright, I’m leaving. My job here is done," Erwin declared.
At those words, I walked him to the exit. The team members remained behind. They sensed his immense power. He clearly matched the level of that previous woman.
Only old man Rock truly comprehended it.
"Forbidden Wizard," he whispered.
The members had also heard the official announcement. Happiness surged through them. Still, they knew the dangers persisted.
Even greater threats might await them ahead.
A few days later
I departed Crystal City covertly. Right now, I’m traveling toward SunHaven City. For this journey, I skipped the mask.
I’m traveling under my real identity this time. The cab sped along. Its driver was a silent middle-aged man.
Though quiet, he tuned into the news broadcast.
I enjoyed the calm vibe. So I grabbed my device and started researching SunHaven City.
SunHaven City dwarfs Crystal City in size.
One day wouldn’t suffice to tour the whole place. Plus, it lies far off. Reaching it could take a full day at least.
Several hours later
The cab arrived at SunHaven City. I observed the structures. Old and modern buildings mingled there.
Crowded spots abounded. The driver stopped before a hotel. I got out, paid the fare, and thanked him.
It was nightfall already. I appreciated his safe driving.
[Sun Crest Hotel]
I faced the hotel. My eyes landed on its sign. A fine name indeed. The structure was an aged multi-story edifice.
I gave it a quick look before entering the lobby. Then I headed to the reception desk.
A middle-aged man and woman staffed the desk. I approached and requested a room booking.
A few minutes later
Keys in hand, I proceeded to the assigned room on the second floor. The lobby held only admin staff, no other guests.
It seemed odd. Nighttime usually buzzes in cities. Yet this area appeared forsaken.
A few minutes later
I arrived at the room. Once inside, I activated the probe function on impulse.
[Ding! Spy cams were detected.]
The system alert rang out. Shock hit me. I’d used it habitually, never expecting a hit.
Next, I employed the system to locate each spy cam. Who’d have thought a renowned hotel would plant these?
They gathered intel on guests. Ten minutes passed as I uncovered all 50 tiny cams. Smaller than ants, I smashed them all.
In these times, such tactics persist. Wizards dropping vigilance might miss the concealed spy cams.
With that done, I crashed on the bed for some rest.
The next morning
Morning routine finished, I delved into city intel. Key locations drew my interest.
I planned to visit them. Since learning of the banned items, I’d sensed this city’s extraordinary nature.
Time passed
Noon saw me exit the hotel. I hailed a cab and directed the driver to the city administration building.
I aimed to begin my city tour there. He consented. I climbed in and took the back seat.
The middle-aged driver settled in front and drove off.
As the car departed, a lobby onlooker noted it. He alerted the admin desk.
The middle-aged pair exchanged glances.
"There is no signal from room 210. He must have found out about them. But he didn’t cause any ruckus," the middle-aged woman noted.
"Heh... heh... heh..."
"Maybe he’s a person without a background," the man chuckled.
"But he dared to damage the spy cams. The young master will be unhappy. We should report this to him," the woman replied.
"You are right. Wait for me." With that, the middle-aged man departed.
He headed off to inform the Crest family’s young master.

Meanwhile
Customers flowed into the shop routinely. Unaware, they missed that owner Frank was out today.
Patrick and Otto already had orders to manage them.
