The Silver Tower announced Vincent Carey as the new owner of the Crystal City appraisal shop, shocking residents of Magic City and drawing attention from wizard families and rivals. Wizard seed families were stunned by his business move amid ongoing threats, while the Doyle family and others planned to monitor the shop closely. The Green and Flame Elemental Towers felt humiliated by the Silver Tower's acquisition of banned items, and Crystal City's locals and officials rejoiced at the shop's newfound official protection.

Crystal City-Shop

Inside the office gallery room, I'm reviewing the latest news. Customers are now arriving. Patrick and Otto are attending to them.

My attention fixed on the official announcement from the Silver Tower. The meeting wrapped up much faster than anticipated.

From now on, I can freely reveal my true identity. I wish the enemy factions would halt their schemes, yet I know they'll resume soon enough.

Using my initial persona, I've already clashed with foes. Vigilance is required against the Elemental Towers and wizard clans.

Thoughts turned to the forbidden items next. Oddly, Manager Lara and Lord Charlotte never inquired about them. I kept silent on the matter too.

Still, it was obvious I held them. Perhaps I should surrender them? I dismissed the idea with a shake of my head. This forbidden treasure was far from commonplace.

A strong intuition told me it would prove valuable for my own use.

Afterward, I searched online for details on Sunhaven City, once a restricted zone. Unsure if notable sites remained there.

Curiosity stirred within me. I've resolved to journey to Sunhaven City in due time.

Time flew by.

Besides regular patrons, key figures dropped by to meet me. Drawn by word of the Silver Tower developments.

That night, another visitor arrived: Infinite Circle Leader Edmund. He brought his aide, Jonah, along.

We faced each other across the table in the room.

"Shop Owner Frank, you look well," Edmund remarked.

"I'm feeling good. Appreciate the aid that day," I responded, smiling.

"No need to thank me. With your new affiliation, those attackers won't dare strike again," Edmund noted.

His aide stayed mute nearby, yet listened intently. Clearly collecting intel.

"Shop Owner Frank, any chance to encounter the new boss?" Edmund inquired.

"News came today, but his location remains a mystery. Hoping he'll visit the shop soon," I answered.

Edmund showed no shock at that. He'd mainly come to assess Shop Owner Frank's recovery and probe for Wizard Vincent details.

Minutes later, they departed. Back at the association, Edmund questioned, "Your thoughts?"

Jonah arched his brows and replied, "Leader, Shop Owner Frank's swift recuperation surprises me."

"Top-tier potions must have healed him. But remember, he stayed composed from the start. No retaliation at all."

"Others might have raged or exploded in fury. Yet Shop Owner Frank remained serene, like he foresaw the events," Edmund observed.

Jonah fell silent upon hearing this. At a loss for words.

Meanwhile, Elder Blake arrived with an official. He checked my status and sought news on the new proprietor.

I repeated the same response to him. Elder Blake apologized for the incident before departing.

Time elapsed.

Through the evening, a stream of guests visited. All keen to verify my well-being. Fearing I might resign post-takeover.

Unaware that I controlled both personas.

...

The following morning, I began routines as normal. Quickly, Lord Charlotte called, urging a public showing.

Impossible to show both selves simultaneously. I requested more time.

Lord Charlotte agreed but pressed for a speedier choice. To calm the locals.

I gave my word before hanging up. Then slipped into the gallery office room to resume duties.

Time marched on.

Out-of-town buyers surged in, particularly those tied to the Silver Magic Tower.

Occasionally, Patrick and Otto consulted me prior to sales.

After midday, I lounged on the sofa, relaxing.

[Ding! Warning!]

[Forbidden Wizard detected.]

The system's alert rang in my head. Instantly, I sprang to my feet and headed to the gallery.

A hooded figure browsed the displays. I scanned fellow shoppers—their power levels were plain.

This hooded one stood out. Before querying the system, he pivoted.

Recognizing his face left me stunned: it was Lord Erwin.

I approached and offered greetings.

"Lord, your visit here was unexpected," I told him.

"Meant to come sooner, but timing's perfect now. Impressive array you've got. So the appraisal venture was genuine," Erwin grinned.

"Indeed," I confirmed.

Erwin surveyed the shop. Noting the employees, he discerned their mana cores shackled by bindings.

With identical restraints on all, his eyes shifted to Vincent Carey.

"You've secured quite the prize. Controlling a Magic Lord is no simple feat. That injured fellow over there has depleted most mana core strength, though his bloodline endures powerfully," Erwin commented.

"Finding another like him would be rare," he continued.

Not startled he'd spotted the crimson chains, I invited him to the gallery room. We settled in. Lord Erwin surely had purpose beyond chit-chat.

"Do you possess the forbidden item?" Erwin probed.

I nodded and rose.

"Fetching it now." With that, I exited the gallery for my quarters.

His abrupt appearance caught me off guard. Else, I'd have tucked the item in the storage bracelet.

In my room, I retrieved the forbidden items from system storage into the bracelet. Then rejoined the gallery.

The staff gaped in surprise. They sensed a VIP's presence.
