Crystal City, Shop
"Edmund, move aside," Isabella cautioned sharply.
Without pausing after her words, she swiftly reappeared before Shop Owner Frank, covered in blood.
His ragged appearance revealed he was in terrible shape.
"I don't want to be rude, but you leave me no option." With those words spoken, she reached out to seize the Shop Owner's hand.
Swoosh! Leader Edmund Smith seized her wrist and shoved her back.
"Old woman, it's over now," Edmund declared.
Those words stunned Isabella completely.
Magic Lord Scott sensed yet another intense Magic Lord presence. He whirled around to spot the newcomer as none other than Manager Lara.
Manager Lara had finally arrived on the scene, yet her timing was off.
"Manager Lara," he exclaimed in astonishment.
Rage filled Lara. Spotting Vincent Carey's battered form infuriated her, and then her gaze fell on Isabella.
Swoosh!
She dashed straight to Vincent Carey's position. Edmund grinned upon her arrival, while Isabella's features twisted in dismay.
Still, she refused to yield. Being an official member tied to the Dark Faction fueled her resolve.
"Lara, your relative faces charges of smuggling banned goods from SunHaven City. You know full well the gravity of such claims."
"Have him reveal his storage bracelets. Fail to do so, and you can't protect him," Isabella warned Lara.
Lara glanced at Vincent Carey. With an inner sigh, she produced healing potions and handed them over to him.
"Take him inside," she instructed old man Rock.
I took the healing potion gratefully. Her last-second arrival filled me with relief. Glancing at the old woman and Magic Lord Scott, I then entered the mansion.
"What are you doing?" Isabella demanded.
In response, Lara smirked and replied, "Someone wants to speak with you."
Handing her device to Isabella next, Lara watched as doubts flickered in the woman's eyes, though she sensed the caller's presence.
Isabella took the device and picked up the call. The voice on the line jolted her deeply, twisting her face in shock.
Regret surged through her soul intensely. Panic gripped her now, leading to repeated apologies over the phone before she returned the device.
Elder Blake and Edmund stood nearby too. The old woman's drastic shift surprised them, though they suspected major developments.
Magic Lord Scott's face darkened further. Lara's presence meant he stood no chance. Alone against so many Magic Lords, he was outmatched.
He observed how the call had transformed old woman Isabella. No more aid from her side.
Turning to Manager Lara, Isabella felt lost. The caller had been none other than Forbidden Wizard Erwin.
Regaining her composure, she faced Magic Lord Scott.
Boom!
In the instant that followed, she unleashed a savage assault on him. Caught unprepared, Scott failed to block fully. The impact hurled his body backward, crashing into the earth.
This abrupt reversal stunned all onlookers. Undeterred, the old woman prepared to unleash her fury upon Magic Lord Scott.
He bore the blame for her offending Forbidden Wizard Erwin.
Boom! This time, Scott parried the strike. Yet magic spells remained off-limits here. Her swift betrayal made him suspect orders from the caller to strike him down.
The Forbidden Wizard was his prime suspect. Grimness etched his features; ultimate failure was his fate.
This marked his second defeat. One truth dawned on him: acting against Shop Owner Frank within Crystal City proved impossible.
Protectors always emerged for him. Only beyond the city limits could he strike. No saviors would reach then, he believed.
A scheme began forming in his thoughts. Capturing Shop Owner Frank in the act outside Crystal City would be his future move.
Magic Lord Scott commanded the Flame Elemental Tower forces to withdraw. Mission failed, retreat was immediate.
Mid-air vehicles vanished one by one in moments. Scott departed last.
Elder Blake and Leader Edmund rejoiced inwardly. Disaster averted. Gratitude poured out to Manager Lara for her crucial timing.
"No, thanks belong to you both. You can't fathom your deed's impact. Future rewards await you," Lara hinted mysteriously.
Her words' depth escaped them. Lara's gaze shifted to Isabella, chilling as the old woman came into view.
Lara declared, "Prepare to report to Forbidden Wizard Erwin."
Isabella's look soured at that. Producing an elite healing liquid bottle—costly and vital for any Magic Lord—she offered it.
"Pass it to him. Let this serve as my apology," she stated.
Lara took the vial. Vincent Carey's true identity remained secret to all. Knowledge of it would have deterred Isabella entirely.
With a final look at the mansion, Isabella departed.
Blake and Edmund absorbed the revelation. Forbidden Wizard Erwin backing Shop Owner Frank was unforeseen.
They attributed it to Manager Lara's ties. Edmund celebrated his wise choice, while Blake lamented his delay.
Fear of official members had frozen him from acting.
"Manager Lara, I'll head out now. Expect my return to see him soon." Edmund then departed.
Elder Blake stood speechless, yet Lara held no grudge, grasping his predicament.
"Elder Blake, I hold nothing against you. Thankful you prevented escalation," Lara assured him.
Relief washed over Blake. Gathering his team, he left. Only then did the locals exhale in joy.
Uncertain if troubles would persist, fear kept them wary of the area. Helpless to change it, they endured.
Ejecting Shop Owner Frank lay beyond their power. Even Flame Elemental Tower failed against him. His network spanned vastly.
