God-tier Farm Chapter 3
Previously on God-tier Farm...
Xia Ruofei had a faint recollection of his late grandfather frequently tinkering with the scroll he now held. It appeared to be nothing more than an antique, and in all the years since, Xia Ruofei had never detected anything remarkable about it.
He also vaguely recalled that a painting was revealed whenever the scroll was unfurled. The artwork was minimalist, depicting nothing but a stretch of grassland and a translucent spring.
Driven by childhood curiosity, Xia Ruofei had once questioned his grandfather regarding the history of the piece. Ultimately, even the old man possessed little knowledge of its origins, knowing only that it was a legacy passed down through their ancestors.
Why would such an ordinary-looking painting suddenly radiate a brilliant golden light?
“What is actually happening?” Xia Ruofei whispered under his breath. With a look of intrigue, he reached out to grasp the scroll and began to slowly unroll it.
The experience differed vastly from previous times. The instant Xia Ruofei opened the scroll, the golden radiance flared with intensity. Suddenly, a powerful suction force seemed to erupt from the canvas, pulling at him.
His vision blurred immediately, feeling as though he were being teleported. A moment later, he realized he was standing in an entirely foreign environment.
The situation was utterly bizarre.
Relying on his instincts as a former member of the special forces, Xia Ruofei immediately dropped into a defensive stance. He scanned his surroundings with rapid precision, searching for a secure position or cover to prevent being flanked by an enemy.
He quickly realized, however, that his current location offered no concealment whatsoever. There were no bunkers or obstacles; he was standing in the middle of a plot of rich black soil. This patch of land appeared to be roughly one acre in size, and he could see its boundaries clearly from where he stood.
Past the edge of this single acre, a thick, pale green mist hung in the air. Despite Xia Ruofei’s sharp eyes, he was unable to penetrate the fog to see what lay beyond.
At the heart of this dark earth sat a crystal-clear spring. Water bubbled up from the ground, collecting into a small pool with a radius of approximately one meter.
Growing right next to the water was a plant he failed to recognize. Standing about a foot tall, it featured long leaves roughly two fingers wide. These green leaves looked vibrant and brimming with life.
Naturally, the most striking feature was the flower blooming upon the stalk.
The blossom consisted of only three petals, yet each one possessed a distinct hue: blue, yellow, and red.
Despite its simplicity, the three-petaled flower exuded an aura of delicate allure, as if it held the fundamental truths of the universe within its form.
Even in his state of shock, Xia Ruofei found himself captivated, staring at the flower for several seconds.
He shook himself out of the daze quickly—this was no time for distractions.
Just moments ago, he had been searching for a medical kit in his rented room. How could he have been transported to this mysterious realm so abruptly?
Because the sky and the perimeter were completely obscured by the hazy green vapor, he could see nothing else.
Consequently, Xia Ruofei’s primary goal was to discover a path out and escape this area.
Once he regained his composure, his first move was to head toward the edge of the soil.
The plot of black earth was nearly a perfect circle, measuring about twenty-eight or twenty-nine meters across. Xia Ruofei reached the perimeter in short order.
He reached out a hand to test the air and found that the mist acted as an invisible wall. A gentle but firm resistance pushed back against his palm.
Skeptical, Xia Ruofei moved a few steps over and tried again at a different spot. The result did not change.
While the green fog appeared thin, it did more than just block his sight; it functioned as a physical barrier invisible to the eye. While it wasn't harmful, it was incredibly resilient and impossible to pass through.
“What am I supposed to do?” Xia Ruofei couldn't help but sigh. “There’s no exit…”
Left with no other options, he trudged back to the small spring at the center of the clearing.
Suddenly, Xia Ruofei’s eyes went wide as he surveyed the area again. The more he looked, the more his astonishment grew.
“This… isn't this exactly like the painting?” he murmured to himself.
A circular island of earth, a clear spring in the middle, a strange plant by the pool, and the surrounding green mist…
Xia Ruofei recalled the details of the painting from his youth. Aside from the fact that there was no green grass on the ground here, the scenery was an exact match for the artwork!
“Is it possible… that I am inside the painting?” A daring theory formed in his mind.
Xia Ruofei was stunned by his own conclusion, but the more he considered it, the more logical it became. After all, the environment had only shifted the moment he unfurled the scroll.
Having spent years in the military and receiving a modern education, he felt as though his entire understanding of reality was crumbling.
He stood by the water, lost in thought for a long duration.
Having endured the grueling trials of the Lone Wolf Assault Team, Xia Ruofei possessed a remarkably stable psyche. He rarely lost his composure, yet this supernatural event had left his mind momentarily blank.
Eventually, he focused on a critical issue—how was he going to get out?
It would be a pathetic joke if a special forces elite ended up trapped inside a painting with no way to escape.
Xia Ruofei gave a wry smile and spoke aloud to the empty space.
“Heavens… surely I won't be stuck here forever… I want to go out!”
The moment the words left his lips, Xia Ruofei felt his vision swim. That same pulling sensation and bout of vertigo hit him once more. A split second later, he found himself back in his cluttered rental apartment.
The painting was still in his hands.
Xia Ruofei gaped in disbelief.
“Is it actually voice-activated? No way.”
He turned his attention back to the scroll. The painting still appeared ordinary. The aged paper was marked with stains and wear, clearly showing the passage of time.
However, as Xia Ruofei scrutinized the details, he became certain that he had indeed just visited the world within the canvas.
His training as a specialized soldier allowed him to memorize details subconsciously.
He looked for the unidentified plant by the spring and the exquisite three-petaled flower.
With a single look, he identified the plant in the artwork. The flower and even the specific patterns on the leaves were identical to what he had just seen in person.
There was a hidden world concealed within the scroll. It contained an entirely separate, mysterious dimension!
The usually stoic Xia Ruofei found it impossible to suppress his excitement.
He had stumbled upon an incredible treasure!
