Soon, they decided to move deeper into the courtyard before hatching the egg.
Although the young World Tree was heavily protected, Asad didn’t want to risk allowing an unfamiliar creature to hatch directly beside it. The Bloodfeeding Pixie might only be a small magical beast, but they had no idea how it would react immediately after being born.
Fortunately, Blood Talon Shelter had several secluded areas prepared for exactly this kind of situation.
Asad led Aera through a narrow path behind the World Tree before arriving at a small stone pavilion surrounded by a low wall. The area was quiet, and several defensive formations had been engraved around the perimeter.
Aera looked around curiously.
"This place is pretty nice."
"It’s also protected by a few formations," Asad replied. "If anything goes wrong, the formations should contain it."
Aera glanced at him.
"Do you really think something could go wrong?"
"I don’t know."
Asad looked at the egg in her hands.
"That’s why we’re here instead of hatching it in the middle of the shelter."
Aera nodded since that made sense.
She carefully placed the Bloodfeeding Pixie Egg on a small stone table in the center of the pavilion.
The pale red shell immediately caught the sunlight filtering through the leaves of the nearby World Tree.
A faint crimson glow appeared across its surface.
Aera’s eyes widened.
"It’s reacting!"
Asad stepped closer.
The System immediately displayed the egg’s information.

"How do I do this?"
Asad chuckled.
"You don’t need to cut your arm open."
"I wasn’t planning to!"
"You were definitely thinking about it."
Aera’s cheeks turned slightly red.
"I was only wondering!"
Asad shook his head before taking out a small glass vial from his storage space.
"Use this."
Aera accepted it.
"What’s this?"
"Just a container."
"Oh."
She looked at it for a moment before pulling out a small medical blade.
She carefully made a tiny cut along her fingertip.
A bead of blood appeared almost immediately.
The moment it emerged, the Bloodfeeding Pixie Egg reacted.
The crimson glow covering the shell suddenly intensified.
Aera was quite surprised to see it...
"So it can sense blood already?"
"It seems so..."
Asad watched the egg with interest.
The blood from Aera’s fingertip slowly dripped into the vial.
Once she had collected enough, she sealed the container and placed it beside the egg.
"Now what?"
The shopkeeper had told them that the egg would absorb the blood itself.
However, nothing happened.
Aera waited but nothing happened...
"Is it broken?"
"It’s an egg."
"I know it’s an egg."
"Then give it some time."
Aera sighed.
She leaned closer and stared at it. "Come on... Hurry up, or I’ll throw you away..."
Asad couldn’t help smiling at how seriously she was treating the egg.
"You’ve had it for less than five minutes."
"I already like it."
Aera gently touched the surface of the egg.
"Ahem... I’m not going to throw you away... Just hatch, please... You’re going to be my little companion, okay?"
The egg suddenly trembled and Aera’s eyes widened.
"Sir Asad!"
"I saw it."
The trembling became stronger.
Crack.
A tiny fracture appeared across the shell.
Aera immediately stepped backward.
The crimson light surrounding the egg became brighter and brighter until the entire pavilion was illuminated.
Several formations around them activated automatically, responding to the sudden surge of magical energy.
Asad’s expression became slightly more serious.
"Interesting."
The energy wasn’t particularly powerful, but it was surprisingly pure.
It wasn’t demonic or anything close to undead energy.
It was something closer to a strange combination of life force and blood energy.
The crack spread.
Then another appeared.
Crack!
Aera unconsciously grabbed Asad’s sleeve.
"Asad..."
"It’s fine."
The egg shook violently, and just like that, the entire shell shattered a moment later.
Fragments flew outward before dissolving into crimson particles.
Something tiny was curled up inside the remains.
Aera’s mouth fell open.
The little creature slowly moved and she saw two tiny wings flutter weakly behind its back as it lifted its head.
Silver hair spilled down its tiny shoulders while two crimson horns protruded from its forehead, and a pair of ruby-red eyes slowly opened.
The Bloodfeeding Pixie stared at Aera.
For several seconds, neither of them moved.
Then the tiny creature tilted its head.
"Ah..."
Its voice was surprisingly soft.
Aera’s expression immediately melted.
"Oh my god..."
She crouched down in front of it.
"You’re even cuter than the picture!"
The pixie blinked.
Then it looked toward the vial containing Aera’s blood.
Its eyes immediately brightened.
Asad noticed the change.
"Looks like it’s hungry."
Aera quickly picked up the vial.
"How do I give it to her?"
"Just let her drink."
Aera carefully opened the vial and placed it near the pixie.
The tiny creature immediately flew toward it.
Its wings moved so quickly that they became almost invisible.
Aera watched in fascination as the Bloodfeeding Pixie landed on the edge of the vial and began drinking.
It didn’t consume much.
Within seconds, the hundred milliliters of blood had completely disappeared.
The moment the last drop was consumed, a crimson glow erupted from the pixie’s body.
Aera instinctively reached toward her.
The System suddenly appeared.
[ Blood Contract has been established. ]

Aera stared at the notifications and smiled...
"This is just perfect for me..." She muttered with a hint of excitement in her voice.
Then she looked at the tiny creature hovering in front of her.
It was as if the Pixie was trying to tell her something!
