Global Awakening: Apocalypse Ender's Chronicle Chapter 1305: Asad’s Demon
Previously on Global Awakening: Apocalypse Ender's Chronicle...
The following morning, Asad finally went to meet the newly ordained Priests who had recently returned from the New Haven Clan.
They had originally been sent there to become a powerful asset against Vampires. But after the appearance of Demons, they had also learned more about various methods of dealing with Demons and other corrupted creatures. After spending several weeks there, they had returned with considerably more knowledge than when they had left.
Asad had heard some reports about their progress, but he hadn’t had the opportunity to meet them personally.
That changed today.
When he arrived at one of the Clan’s training facilities, he found six people waiting inside.
The first to notice him was a tall woman with long silver-blonde hair. She immediately straightened and gave him a respectful nod.
"Lord Asad."
Asad returned the gesture.
"You’re one of the new Priests?"
"Yes."
The woman stepped forward and introduced herself.
"My name is Elysara... These are Caedryn, Vaelin, Aera, Orwyn, and Miravel..."
Asad quietly memorized their names before looking over the group.
They certainly weren’t names he heard often.
More importantly, he could sense the holy energy within each of them. It wasn’t particularly overwhelming, but it was much purer than what other priests possessed.
"What did you learn while you were there?"
Elysara answered immediately.
"Quite a lot. The Priests at New Haven have spent a long time studying Demons and corrupted creatures, so they taught us several techniques that are specifically useful against them. We’ve also learned better ways to use Holy Water."
Caedryn took out a small glass vial and held it up.
"This is one of the things we brought back."
Asad looked at the clear liquid inside.
It looked like ordinary water, but his senses could clearly detect a faint holy aura surrounding it.
"How strong is it?"
"It depends on the target," Caedryn replied. "If used on an ordinary survivor, it would heal them... But if used against a creature with strong demonic energy..."
He didn’t finish the sentence... He didn’t need to.
Asad already had something in mind.
"Follow me."
The six Priests exchanged glances before following him deeper into the facility.
They eventually entered a large underground training chamber. The walls were reinforced with several layers of defensive materials, and numerous formations had been carved into the floor to prevent powerful attacks from damaging the surrounding structure.
Asad walked to the center of the room before raising one hand.
A dark aura immediately spread around him.
The six Priests became alert and a moment later, the Demon he had just obtained appeared.
Its enormous body emerged from the darkness and landed heavily on the stone floor. Several necromantic restraints remained wrapped around its limbs, although they were no longer necessary to control it.
Asad simply didn’t see any reason to remove them.
The creature was still a Demon Lord, after all.
The moment they sensed its presence, the expressions of the six Priests changed.
Caedryn’s hand immediately moved toward his weapon while Aera took out several vials of Holy Water. Vaelin’s body began radiating a faint golden glow, and Orwyn instinctively prepared a defensive barrier.
Even Elysara’s calm expression became serious.
"That’s a Demon," Miravel said quietly.
"Not just any Demon," Elysara added.
Asad nodded.
"Correct."
The Demon remained completely still behind him.
Its enormous body was covered in scars, and the demonic energy surrounding it was noticeably weaker than it should have been. Even so, the pressure it gave off was enough to make the six Priests cautious.
Asad glanced at them.
"This is the Demon I told you about."
Elysara looked at him.
"The one you subdued?"
"Yes."
Her gaze returned to the Demon.
"Is it really under your control?"
The Demon lowered its head.
"As long as Master commands it, I will obey."
The six Priests fell silent.
Even though they had already heard about Asad’s ability to control undead, seeing a Demon Lord calmly acknowledge him as its master was still difficult to accept.
Asad wasn’t interested in their surprise.
He wanted to know how effective their abilities actually were.
"Attack it."
Elysara hesitated.
"Are you certain?"
"Don’t worry about killing it. I’ve already given it an order."
Asad turned toward the Demon.
"Just defend yourself. Mhmm... Wait. You can fight back a little, but don’t harm them."
The Demon nodded.
"Understood, Master."
That was enough.
Caedryn was the first to move.
He uncorked the vial in his hand, and a faint holy aura immediately spread through the chamber.
The Demon reacted instantly. Its head turned toward Caedryn as holy energy was too evident. It could sense the danger.
Caedryn noticed that as well.
"So it can recognize holy energy."
Without waiting any longer, he flicked his wrist.
A thin stream of Holy Water shot toward the Demon.
The Demon raised its hand, and dark demonic energy gathered around its palm. The Holy Water collided with it and immediately produced a sharp hissing sound.
Steam rose into the air.
The Demon took a step backward.
The Holy Water had burned through a portion of the Demon’s demonic energy.
It wasn’t a serious injury, but the reaction was stronger than he had expected.
Caedryn looked at the Demon with renewed confidence.
"It works."
"Try again."
This time, Caedryn dipped several small silver needles into the Holy Water before throwing them.
The Demon moved.
Its speed was astonishing.
Most of the needles missed completely, but three managed to strike its shoulder and chest.
Holy energy immediately spread through the wounds.
The Demon growled and released a burst of dark energy, forcing the needles out of its body.
The wounds weren’t deep, but they were clearly refusing to heal as quickly as they should have.
Asad watched carefully.
So Holy Water could interfere with the Demon’s regeneration as well.
That was useful information.
"Let me try."
Elysara stepped forward.
Caedryn moved aside.
She raised both hands, and a golden symbol appeared in front of her.
The holy energy surrounding her suddenly became much stronger.
The Demon reacted as a wave of demonic energy erupted from its body.
Elysara didn’t retreat.
"Divine Binding."
The golden symbol expanded.
Several chains made entirely of holy energy descended from above and wrapped around the Demon!
