Brandon's companions were tending to his hair when a guest arrived. He stepped outside to greet Naevora, who was concerned about his week-long absence and his changed appearance. Brandon responded to her worry with an intimate embrace before agreeing to explain once they had eaten. Upon entering, they were met by Selene, who called Brandon 'Papa,' leaving Naevora confused and suspicious.

They all sat around the long table.

Plates and dishes were already set. Elize, Florence, and Yverine finished the last of the preparations, and the rest of the household also took their seats.

Brandon sat near the middle with Elize on one side and Florence on the other side, with Ravene and Charlotte beside them.

Selene settled a little further down with Dhayun, Yverine, Jiyeon, Eira, Kiera, and Naevora.

As the last people settled, Brandon leaned slightly toward Elize on his other side and whispered.

"Where’s Rheanne?"

Elize answered just as quietly, "She left a short while ago."

Brandon’s gaze condensed ’Must be important.’

He gave a small nod and sat back properly.

A moment later the meal began in earnest, and soft sounds of eating and the occasional low exchange of words filled the dining room.

Naevora leaned to Yverine and whispered, "What happened to Brandon? Also... who is this woman?"

Yverine tilted her head slightly "Honestly... I didn’t understand it either. It’s better if Brandon explained it himself."

Eh? Hearing this, Naevora frowned slightly ’Just what the hell happened?’

As the meal continued, Eira reached for her mobile on the table to check on a notification. The screen lit up softly under her fingers.

Selene, sitting nearby with her chopsticks paused, watched the device with open curiosity and a small, amused smile.

"You use those things here too?" she asked, tilting her head slightly.

Eira glanced up, a little surprised by the question, then nodded "Yeah. Phones. Do you... know what they are?"

Selene returned to her food, "Mhm. I’ve seen them used in many worlds. They’re pretty handy."

Eira’s chopsticks froze halfway to her mouth.

"...Y-You’ve been to many worlds?"

Selene, still focused on her plate, simply gave a small nod as if travelling worlds is a simple task.

"Mm. A few," she answered lightly. "They show up in different forms depending on the place, but the idea is usually the same."

Eira stared at her for another second, still processing the casual way she was talking about it, before slowly lowering her chopsticks again.

"...Huh."

Selene continued eating and glanced at Eira in confusion "...What? I am a God-"

"WHAT?"

Hearing her scream, everyone turned to look at Eira in surprise.

"Eira?"

"What happened?"

Eira hurriedly clamped her mouth shut and sat back down, waving a vague hand as if to dismiss the outburst.

"...Nothing. Sorry. Continue eating."

A few people exchanged looks, but the table gradually returned to its previous flow.

Once the attention drifted away again, Eira leaned in closer to Selene and whispered.

"So... Brandon is also a God now?"

Selene shook her head lightly, "Not really. Papa is not a God... he is the Apostle of Aunt Rheanne."

"But my Mom, Aunt Freya, Aunt Scylla, Aunt Camille, and Aunt Lisette are all Gods. Lesser Divinities."

"I’m still in the process of making my Elder Divinity debut, though."

"I’m surprised how it only took forty years for Aunt Rheanne to reach Elder Divinity. Love makes you do crazy things."

Eira blinked, and her gaze slowly shifted toward Brandon further down the table.

He was eating quietly with his longer hair tied back in the simple bun Dhayun had made earlier as he listened to something Florence was saying beside him.

For a moment Eira simply watched him.

Then her eyes lowered.

Five hundred years...

She only knows the surface of what he has gone through with his brief explanations.

Sitting here now, hearing Selene speak so casually of gods and decades of ascension, the weight of those centuries settled more heavily in her mind.

What he endured. What he carried alone for so long. How much of it he still has not fully spoken aloud.

Eira remained quiet, and her gaze quivered slightly ’Brandon...’

---

Eira was sitting on the couch with one leg folded beneath her and turned her gaze towards Selene.

"Why don’t you stay in my room tonight? There’s still a lot I want to know. About those five hundred years and what he was actually like back then."

Selene glanced at her, thinking about the request for a moment before giving a small, easy nod.

"Alright. I don’t mind."

Yverine shifted closer from her spot on the couch, "I’m coming too."

Dhayun, who was half-reclined against the backrest, raised a hand without hesitation.

"Same. You’re not locking that conversation behind a closed door while the rest of us wonder."

Jiyeon, quieter than the others, also muttered "I’ll join as well."

Eira looked at the three of them with a dry smile "Okay, but my bed is definitely not big enough for all of us. We’re going to end up stacked like firewood."

Dhayun tilted her head, "We could drag a couple of the other beds into one room and shove them together."

Yverine hummed thoughtfully "Or we could just buy a new one. There’s that late-night furniture place on the edge of the city. They still deliver at this hour if you pay extra."

Jiyeon raised an eyebrow "You’re seriously suggesting we go furniture shopping right now?"

"Why not?"

A short distance away, Kiera sat watching the entire exchange with a completely flat expression.

-_- ’They are definitely going to drag me too.’

"Kiera."

’Fuck.’

---

Sitting on the edge of the bed in Naevora’s guest room, Brandon let out a quiet breath as he began to explain everything.

The Dead Clock Spire. The time storm. Waking up five hundred years in the past. Meeting Rheanne when she was still only the first awakener.

He spoke of Freya and Amelia, Camille and Lisette, and the decades.

Naevora listened without interrupting.

By the time he finished, she was sitting rigidly on the bed with a troubled expression on her face.

"...Five hundred years," she finally muttered. "You were gone for a week on our side, and you lived through five centuries over there."

"I... don’t even know what I’m supposed to do with that. How do you even... react to something like this?"

Brandon leaned back slightly, resting his hands against the bed beside him as he looked at her "You don’t have to figure it out right now..."

Naevora looked at his mature face, and a soft, almost reluctant chuckle lefther lips "And after all those years, you’re still a pervert."

Brandon’s lips curved faintly "Some things don’t change."

She shook her head helplessly "You have lived centuries of life... and somehow the one constant is that you’re still the same shameless brat who shoves his face into my chest the second he sees me."

Tilting her head, she asked "What am I supposed to call you now? Disciple? Apostle? Immortal?"

"You can still call me a rascal if it helps," Brandon muttered.

She shook her head helplessly "Yeah, I will stick with that... you damn rascal."

A brief silence followed.

"...Did it hurt?" she asked eventually. "Being there that long and knowing you couldn’t come back until the timeline allowed it."

Brandon’s expression grew more serious "At times... Especially early on. Later it became something I carried, and well... you can say I accepted my destiny and wait for the time to roll."

After a moment she moved closer on the bed, raised her hand, and ruffled his longer hair.

A faint smile touched his lips and he leaned into her.
