Gathering Wives with a System Chapter 673 Making A Choice

"Always alone? I know she might not have been treated well after her Talent awakened, especially since it was only an A-rank Talent, but wouldn't she have been treated normally before that? She is still the third princess of Florathi," Isaac said in a low voice. The others couldn't hear him since their attention was on combat.
"You will know soon enough why. It is something I cannot speak about." Charlotta smiled bitterly.
Isaac nodded and decided not to ask any further questions. He still wondered what reason there could be for the third princess of Florathi to not be treated nicely, especially when she was a member of the royal family.
The training continued for some time. Isaac watched Eleanor put Althea through another series of exercises before eventually asking Charlotta, "Are you okay with that level of intensity?"
"Yes. She has always trained at a similar intensity level," Charlotta answered without hesitation.
Isaac maintained a calm expression, but he was inwardly surprised. Eleanor was not exactly teaching Althea gently, even though this was only the first day, so hearing that Althea had always trained at a similar level made him look at her with a little more respect.
Althea was clearly tougher than she appeared.
The training continued until the others eventually decided to stop for the day. Althea was tired, but she looked quite happy, and even thanked Eleanor for the training before leaving with Charlotta.
Isaac returned upstairs afterward. He took a bath and changed into comfortable clothes before settling down in the living room, where he leaned back into the sofa and let himself relax.
Of course, his clones were still working.
There were crops to manage, information to process, and countless other things that continued even when his main body was resting. However, a large portion of his mind was free at the moment, allowing him to enjoy a rare period where he did not have to actively think about anything.
Isaac closed his eyes and leaned further into the sofa.
A lot had happened. Sometimes, when he had a moment like this, he could not help but remember how ordinary his life had once been.
He still remembered the day he met Emily as if it had happened yesterday. He had received the System, met Emily, awakened an SSS-rank Talent, traveled to another city, started farming, met Selene, brought Alice home after taking her away from the Calloway Conglomerate, dealt with assassins, fought Nagas, and eventually became involved with the Hivemind.
There was so much more.
If he counted the time he had spent inside the Time Dilation Chamber—the period where he had trained under Eleanor—and the six months he had spent in Selene's Trial, then almost a year had passed in total. It was strange to think that all of those things had happened within such a short period of time.
Isaac had gone from being a normal guy who worried about his next meal to someone who had sat down and spoken with Gods. Even now, thinking about it made everything feel unreal.
There was a time when he had only hoped to have enough food to eat and a safe place to live. Now, he was producing enough crops to feed an entire city, and he had become someone whose decisions could affect far more people than he had ever expected.
Isaac smiled faintly.
He was happy. Incredibly happy, in fact.
Sure, there were plenty of things waiting for him in the future. The Purification Cult was still a threat, the Axe God was behind them, the Thousand Year Stampede would eventually arrive, and Mother remained an enemy he had to crush.
There were also countless dangers that he had yet to encounter. However, his current life was fulfilling.
He had a family that he loved and that loved him in return. He had a serious but slightly perverted master, close friends he could trust, powerful companions who stood beside him, and loyal subordinates who had chosen to follow him.
It was more than he had ever expected to have.
Isaac cherished all of it. That was precisely why he would protect it with everything he had.
Right now, he was heading to Florathi. Considering what he had done to the Third Priest and the fact that the Florathi Kingdom was already beginning to fracture, he knew that almost anything could happen once they arrived.
Isaac was not going there looking for a fight. His intention was still to negotiate peacefully and find a solution that benefited everyone involved, but he would not hesitate if things went wrong.
He had become much stronger since the last time he had dealt with the Third Priest. If Third Priest's faction threatened him, his family, his companions, or anyone else he cared about, he would not simply sit back and tolerate it.
Isaac would deal with them ruthlessly.
He let out a deep breath and sorted through his thoughts before opening his eyes. After sitting quietly for another moment, he stood up and stretched, only to notice Celia leaning against the sofa where he had been sitting.
"Are you done monologuing?" she asked with an innocent expression.
Isaac stared at her for a moment.
"I know you were definitely monologuing something in your mind. You were staring into empty space for so long that it was obvious," Celia continued with a grin.
Isaac looked away and ignored her as he walked toward the kitchen. Celia laughed behind him, apparently satisfied with herself.
When he entered the kitchen, he saw Emily sitting there with the tiny blue slime. She was feeding it something, and the slime was happily eating from her hand.
Emily noticed Isaac and looked up. "He wanted to eat the dessert Althea made, so I came here."
Isaac nodded and walked closer to the slime. The tiny creature noticed him approaching and looked at him for a moment before completely ignoring him and going back to eating.
Isaac's lips twitched.
Emily chuckled when she saw his expression. "He is worried you are going to steal his food."
