Everyone Is A Lord: My Talent Is A Little Too Strong Chapter 2850: 1561: The Sudden Envoy (Part 2)

Exactly as the rumors stated, the Throne Corridor serves only as a fleeting gathering spot for second-tier powers seeking mutual protection. It lacks any unique traits or real authority, unable to bind its members in any way.
With that in mind, why do the envoys from the Throne Corridor appear so insignificant, yet make Lila and her companions so anxious and furrowed their brows?
“Your Majesty, there's something you might not realize, and here's how it unfolded.”
Lila clearly saw Leo Ray's puzzled expression and proceeded to explain in detail.
“A bit more than a decade ago, changes began to emerge slowly. Once the New King of the Broken Wing Clan took control as Master of the Corridor, he abruptly commanded a full overhaul of the Throne Corridor, forcing all second-tier powers to heed the Master's decrees.”
“His second decree declared the Broken Wing Clan as overlords of all second-tier powers. Every second-tier power had to submit to the Broken Wing Clan, handing over all magical ore veins and heavenly treasures to them. Even resources on their own lands required Broken Wing Clan approval for extraction, with the bulk of profits surrendered.”
While Lila spoke these words, Kira and Payton both let out deep sighs at the same time.
Over recent years, the Stone Giants have steadily weakened, barely able to upkeep their warriors' gear due to scarce repair materials. Beyond clashes with the Half-Titans, this stands as their primary woe.
The Broken Wing Clan's merciless seizures prevented the Stone Giants from securing sufficient supplies via regular trade or the Shadow Market.
With scarce resources and their massive builds demanding far more food than typical groups, numerous Stone Giant villages faced shortages of clothes and meals, even starvation. This severely hampered their cultivation advancement too.
Nevertheless, each time those Throne Corridor envoys arrived, they disregarded such hardships, displayed utter contempt, and grew even harsher in squeezing out extra tributes through every trick.
With these thoughts, Lila and the rest directed gazes filled with complex emotions toward Leo Ray.
Yet His Majesty stands apart entirely. He not only aided the Stone Giants in overcoming the “Corrosion” and the Dawn Fortress peril personally, but right on his first day ruling the Starfall Royal Court, he elevated the Stone Giants' standing to new peaks and vowed to guide them through the dreadful Great Catastrophe!
Under their watchful eyes, Leo Ray lightly creased his forehead and questioned, “Do the second-tier forces simply endure such brazen bullying?”
“Your Majesty, at the outset, we refused those absurd commands outright, scorning and disregarding them completely. After all, though the Broken Wing Clan ranked high among second-tier powers, they lacked the might to dominate everyone.”
“On strength alone, even the Stone Giants by themselves might not overpower them, but throw in the Half-Titans and they'd think twice.”
Lila nodded firmly and went on, “Right after the Broken Wing Clan released those two edicts, the Frost Fire Giants—neighbors to the Broken Wing Clan—struck back first. Given their superior might edging out the Broken Wing Clan, why would they bow to domination?”
“Frost Fire Giants, huh? I passed through their lands once; truly, they're hulking powerhouses adept at magic. Their cities perched atop mountains make for a striking sight.”
A spark of interest lit Moli's pale features as she inquired, “And what came next?”
Note that although this young lady has wandered widely, a demon once confined her in a spatial rift for ages, leaving her clueless on current events.
“We anticipated an epic clash after learning of the Frost Fire Giants' rebellion. But the outcome shocked us all.”
Lila nodded at Moli first, drew in a sharp breath of icy air, then pressed on, “The very next day after the report, fresh news arrived.”
“Overnight, the Frost Fire Giants clashed brutally with the Broken Wing Clan. In a single night, their core forces got annihilated, their capital city largely razed and swiftly captured.”
Lila's tone quivered faintly as she added, “Reports claim that night saw Frost Fire Giant bodies strewn everywhere, their agonized cries echoing without end. The heavens blazed crimson from massive magical blasts, like doomsday itself. From then, the Frost Fire Giants fell utterly under Broken Wing Clan control.”
“Does the Broken Wing Clan hold such terrifying power?”
At these words, Moli's brows knitted together involuntarily.
She possessed some familiarity with the Broken Wing Clan.
They bear merely wing stubs on their backs; an humanoid race mixed with Winged lineage, said to descend from Winged punished by wing amputation—the fate reserved for the vilest, banished from their kin.
Moli hadn't probed deeply into the Broken Wing Clan's prowess, seeing no point. No top second-tier power could rival first-class ones anyway.
She knew nothing of the Throne Corridor Lila described, never hearing of it. The Forest Elves dismissed it as irrelevant.
“So strong” came from her own perspective. From the Forest Elves' view, the verdict was plain.
Undeniably, crushing a near-top second-tier force marks them as a grave threat to us currently.
“The Broken Wing Clan's might truly surpassed all predictions.”
Lila massaged her smooth brow, steadied her nerves, and continued, “Days later, it emerged they'd allied with multiple elite second-tier powers, each rivaling the Frost Fire Giants in strength. These allies bolstered the Broken Wing Clan's dominance.”
“So, they've got their vanguard forces.”
Understanding dawned on Leo Ray's face as he nodded pensively.
Evidently, their collective power dwarfs ours.
Per Lila's account, only Stone Giants and Half-Titans united could scarcely match them, while we—with Ancient Human Cavalry allegiance, my personal power, and hidden aces—might at most equal that alliance.
Thus, we could challenge two peak second-tier groups but not dismantle the Broken Wing Clan's underlings, much less confront the clan proper.
“Facing me in this setup, they sure know how to stir trouble.”
Leo Ray chuckled bitterly inwardly, then cleared his throat and probed, “What followed?”
“Your Majesty, despite the Frost Fire Giants' devastating loss, a few defiant second-tier powers covertly banded together. Yet they too crumbled before the foe like chaff, bodies littering the field. Dissent slowly died out.”
Lila shook her head in despair and replied, “Though we Stone Giants watched from afar without rash moves, matters have escalated so far that, harboring grudges or not, we remain helpless to alter the course…”
Even unspoken, Lila's intent rang clear.
Once done, Lila, along with neighboring Kira and Payton, balled their fists in frustration, their frames shaking nonstop.
As their tribe's leaders, they refused to let their kin serve as pawns for others' rule.
“Have no fears; with me present, none shall lord over you again.”
Leo Ray rose from his chair, gave a subtle nod, and declared, “Time to face those envoys.”
