Everyone Is A Lord: My Talent Is A Little Too Strong Chapter 2635: 1450: Confession and Return (Part 2)

Leo Ray questioned the sand-robed old man about his identity, only to learn that the ancient being, plagued by amnesia from three thousand years ago, could not recall his origins or purpose. The old man revealed that Leo Ray was the second to ask, the first being a figure resembling Sina but with a blue snake tail—Sina's ancestor, the first Queen of the Medusas after the Era of Blankness. This enigmatic entity confirmed making an agreement with the queen, aiding her successors by embedding magical skills in the Magic Stele, which was actually a bone from his body, while granting them enhanced power as a byproduct. The countless white, eye-like Guardians of Devouring outside were parts of him, emerging to defend against threats to the Stele.

Belinda, bound by the Silence Technique and numerous restraining spells, overflowed with remorse and fury at those words. In her turmoil, she spewed a jet of crimson blood before collapsing into unconsciousness.

“Guardians of Devouring? They launch assaults the moment they detect danger? It’s strikingly akin to how immune cells operate; upon closer inspection, those Guardians truly look like cells.”

Leo Ray paid no heed to Belinda whatsoever, focusing instead on the crucial detail in the opponent’s statement, and deduced, “So, they view us and the Medusas as invaders penetrating Your Excellency’s body, prompting their aggressive response?”

“Exactly, they form just a portion of my form. Even though I’ve declined, while the core of my vitality persists, they’ll persist in executing their duty without fail.”

The elderly figure in sand robes maintained his composed demeanor, giving a nod of affirmation.

Though the revelation seemed hard to accept, Leo Ray grasped the concept swiftly from those statements.

It explained why the Guardians of Devouring regarded Sina as an ally; during her coronation, she had embraced that power, surging her abilities forward, and remnants of it surely lingered inside her, rendering the occurrence predictable.

“Your Excellency, our intentions hold no malice, and the ones who rashly triggered the stele are now in custody, destined for the severest retribution. Drawing on the pacts forged with our forebears, we implore you to permit our departure from this place!”

Sina’s ashen features brimmed with desperation as she hastily performed a chest-pressing salute before the sand-robed elder.

“No issue there, even though you disturbed the stele before, it merely roused me from rest, and I won’t fault you for it.”

The sand-robed elder lifted his shoulders in a casual shrug, then added, “However, to my sorrow, apart from this mental realm and the vicinity around the stele, I’ve lost command over everything beyond, including the Guardians of Devouring, so direct orders to them lie beyond my reach.”

With the sand-robed elder’s declaration complete, the group that had moments ago celebrated plunged back into quiet dismay, Lannis and the fellow Catman powerhouses drooping their ears in defeat.

One had to admit, ever since stepping into the Medusa’s Holy Land, events had unfolded in wildly unexpected and strange ways.

“Even though Your Excellency lacks direct sway over the outer Guardians, surely knowledge of alternative exits exists for you, doesn’t it?”

As the team’s spirits plummeted further, Leo Ray’s steady tone broke the silence, directing his query to the sand-robed elder, “We beseech your guidance on this matter.”

“Yes, an alternate escape route does exist, involving my forced transmission of a message to alert those Guardians that the threat has passed, leading them to dissolve and merge back into me.”

The sand-robed elder acknowledged openly with a nod, then continued, “Yet issuing such a signal by force would drain my frail life force even more; what reason do I have to aid you? Wouldn’t remaining here in my company bring delight to everyone? This domain, shaped by my mental energy, will soon charm you all.”

“Sadly, Your Excellency, we value your kindness, yet duties await our completion outside.”

Leo Ray firmly turned down the suggestion, then pressed on, “If I’ve gauged correctly, Your Excellency harbors deep curiosity about your descendants, or else no deals would have been struck with the Medusa forebear.”

“Regrettably, despite the passage of Three Thousand Years, Your Excellency has seen no success, correct? If outcomes had differed, you’d already know your true identity.”

Drawing from his collaborations with Jess and the rest, Leo Ray navigated the exchange with ease and went further, “My central aim remains revealing this world’s buried secrets, encompassing what you yearn to learn most, so why not bolster your quest with additional prospects?”

“You speak truth without deception, and a rare, ancient force dwells in you that stirs faint caution in me, despite my diminished might. Not once did the initial Tier 6 individual evoke such unease; you truly stand apart.”

After a brief reflection, the sand-robed elder inclined his head toward Leo Ray and inquired, “How will you demonstrate your intent to come back?”

“Quite straightforward, since Your Excellency conceals matters that intrigue me as well, though the link between us eludes us both for now, and that very link embodies the reality we both pursue.”

Leo Ray responded with a subtle grin, “Once I unearth that reality, my return here follows naturally.”

“I see; my persistence stems from the need to uncover what lies hidden.”

The elder’s aged gaze lingered on Leo Ray briefly before he agreed with a nod, “Very well, I shall dispatch you forth.”

No sooner had the sand-robed elder uttered those words than a fierce sandstorm erupted, with myriad grains of sand withdrawing and vanishing in haste, swiftly restoring the expansive, unblemished white expanse from before, while the sand-robed elder himself faded away.

The spectacle of the scattering sand particles proved profoundly moving, leaving all onlookers staring in awe.

Immediately after, the elder’s frail, aged timbre resounded once more in their ears: “There, I’ve dispatched the alert to the Guardians of Devouring; you’re free to exit my form now, young one—honor your word.”

“This endless desert manifests my essence, born from the aura of my remains in those days. Each glimpse of this desert should remind you of your vow.”

At the sound of the aged voice, the group’s surroundings blurred abruptly, placing them once again by the magical stele on the altar.

“Lord, that odd elder spoke honestly; we’ve truly shifted from his mental domain back to the physical world!”

Xiao Jing’s eyes sparkled with excitement as she announced it, her Stone Spirit nature granting her exceptional senses for detection and stealth, thus sharpening her awareness of the environment.

A quick survey revealed the once-crowded Guardians fusing rapidly into the nearby pale framework, the formerly impervious barriers dissolving, ultimately granting the area much-needed room.

“Excellent, urgency calls—let’s go!”

Assessing the circumstances, Leo Ray wasted no words and, together with Sina, Lannis, and the other warriors, dashed promptly toward the secret passage’s exit they had entered by.

From there, their progress flowed without hitches, bringing them back to the surface in short order.

Meanwhile, the Catman Clan fighters pressed their intense clash against the adversaries, though the enemies now suffered a clear setback, their vigor notably diminished.

“Belinda stands vanquished—will you not yield at this point?”

Sina, apparently employing Mirror Image Magic, expanded her form to towering heights in the heavens, her proclamation booming across the entire field of combat.

Faced with Sina’s commanding call, the already demoralized Medusas ceased their futile defiance, dropping their arms at once and prostrating before Sina in pleas for Queenly mercy.

The surviving Witch Demons and Dead Spirits met swift annihilation shortly thereafter, vanishing without trace.

“Human Sovereign, we must press on to the Desolate Fortress without delay—it’s reckoning time for Lucas and his Witch Demons!”

With the Catman Grand Army assembled anew, Sina inclined her head to Leo Ray and declared gravely.

“Yes, an intolerable toll awaits them for these deeds.”

Leo Ray affirmed, taking the lead as the assembly surged forward to Ice Stone City.
