Lannis gave a slight nod before barking orders to the gathered guards and Catman elders: “Apprehend them all!”
Terror gripped the remaining Moon Demon Wolf warriors following Leo Ray’s display of power. Hearing Lannis’ command, their previous bravado vanished, replaced by sheer panic.
One Moon Demon Wolf warrior tried to keep his composure, shouting with a cold edge: “How dare you! We are the envoys of Lord Lucas! To strike us is to spit in the face of Lord Lucas himself!”
“I intend to do exactly that!”
Lannis let out a cold snort and led the charge of Catman warriors, their long tails bristling with rage.
With Leo Ray’s help, and fueled by their own indignation and overwhelming numbers, the Catman warriors quickly crushed the Moon Demon Wolf warriors who tried to resist, while the rest were firmly taken into custody.
“Third Elder, see if you can force any information out of them.”
As the chaos subsided, Lannis nodded to the female elder he had spoken to earlier. He then turned back to Leo Ray, saying: “I must apologize that Your Majesty had to witness such a pathetic display.”
As Lannis spoke, a new sense of respect shone in the eyes of the other Catman warriors. Setting aside his combat strength, the sheer bravery required for the Human Emperor to enter this place alone was enough to earn their admiration.
“Lord Clan Leader, you are far too modest. Time is of the essence, so I will be brief.”
Leo Ray got straight to the point, explaining the pact made at the Shadow Market with Sina’s group and the subsequent discovery regarding the Masked Man, Emily.
“It is a great relief to know that girl survived.”
Lannis’ brow, which had been deeply furrowed, relaxed slightly upon hearing that the wounded Emily was being cared for. However, his expression soon hardened again as he stated: “I never would have suspected the Witch Demon to be the true puppet master!”
“I had already formulated a plan with the Desert Leader and the Rainforest Leader to destroy the Witch Demon, but they clearly aren't going to wait around to be killed.”
Leo Ray’s expression was equally grim as he added: “If we fail to act, this entire region will be destroyed, along with us.”
“Lucas and Belinda have been secretly conspiring with the Witch Demon; they even went so far as to ambush the leader’s group. It is unforgivable! It explains why they were so desperate to take power without finding the leader’s body—claiming he was dead just to seize the opportunity to invade Your Majesty’s lands. It was a calculated plot!”
The white-bearded Catman elder growled under his breath in agreement: “The Human Majesty is right. The Witch Demon has frequently kidnapped members of the Desert Alliance to use as fuel for forbidden techniques. If the Desert Alliance actually joins forces with them, the results will be catastrophic!”
“Indeed! The Desert Alliance must never fall into the hands of villains like Lucas and Belinda!”
The other Catman warriors joined in, their voices rising in a chorus of agreement.
“Therefore, we must move immediately to the Medusa’s Sacred Land to save the Desert Leader before the coronation is finalized. That is our only chance to stop this crisis,” Leo Ray concluded, nodding to the warriors.
