Everyone Is A Lord: My Talent Is A Little Too Strong Chapter 2621: 1443: An Unexpected Appearance (Part 2)

Previously on Everyone Is A Lord: My Talent Is A Little Too Strong...
Tensions reach a breaking point within the Desert Alliance as a detachment of werewolves confronts the Catman Clan, demanding they join a campaign against the Desolate Fortress. The werewolf leader claims the former alliance leader was killed by the Human Emperor, but Clan Leader Lannis remains skeptical of this narrative and the sudden rise of Vice Leader Lucas. Despite threats of total eradication and an incitement for his own elders to assassinate him, Lannis refuses to deploy his troops until the truth is revealed. Under the shadow of a potential coup, the Catman Clan stands at a dangerous crossroads between forced loyalty and open rebellion.

“Are you all deaf? This stubborn fool is leading you straight to destruction!”

The scar-faced werewolf appeared furious as he realized the situation was not unfolding as he had planned. He roared, “Why haven't you killed him yet?”

The Catman elders remained unmoved by his outburst, standing firmly behind Lannis to show their unwavering support through their actions.

Their Clan Leader might be rigid and unyielding, but his sense of fairness and justice had long ago earned him the absolute devotion of the elders and the entire Desert Catman Clan. Consequently, they had no intention of following the orders of these power-hungry wolves.

“Fine, just you wait! The Lord Leader will certainly not show you mercy!”

Realizing his group lacked the strength to topple Lannis, the scar-faced werewolf was forced to suppress his murderous rage and turned to depart.

“Inform your Vice Leader that the truth cannot be concealed forever. In our quest for the truth, we will not be deterred, even if we must cross a mountain of blades or a sea of flames!”

Lannis stood with his arms crossed, his voice booming with authority.

“What legendary and noble sentiments.”

An unfamiliar male voice suddenly rang through the hall just as Lannis finished his sentence.

Startled, the group turned toward the sound and found a young man from the Human Clan standing at the far end of the chamber, his demeanor perfectly composed.

It was Leo Ray.

“The Emperor of the Humans?!”

Lannis, the Catman warriors, and the scar-faced werewolf’s group all stared in shock, their eyes wide with disbelief at the sight of Leo Ray.

Since his magic portrait had been circulated throughout the Desert Alliance, everyone recognized him instantly.

“Emperor of the Humans, how did you manage to get in here?”

A white-whiskered Catman elder blurted out the question, unable to hide his astonishment.

This was, after all, the Clan Leader Hall within the Desert Catman Clan’s capital. The area was heavily fortified with numerous defensive magic arrays, detection wards, and even an Absolute Defense Barrier. It was supposed to be so secure that not even a bird could slip inside, let alone a stranger like the Emperor of the Humans.

While the crowd was in an uproar, Lannis remained silent, his expression thoughtful as he observed the newcomer.

“Don’t be so shocked. Take a look at this.”

With a flick of his wrist, Leo Ray produced the Masked Man’s pendant.

“Is that not the personal possession of Young Clan Leader Emily?”

A female Catman elder reacted with sudden hostility, shouting, “Emperor of the Humans, it was you who ambushed the Leader and the Young Clan Leader!”

“The proof is right there! Why are you hesitating to kill him and avenge your Young Clan Leader?”

The scar-faced werewolf seized the moment to stir the pot, slowly closing the distance toward Leo Ray.

Upon hearing this, several Catman elders, including the woman who had just spoken, let out low snarls and unsheathed their claws.

“Everyone, settle down and think logically about where we are. Even if he took that pendant from Emily, he shouldn't have been able to reach this hall.”

Lannis raised a hand to halt them. “Furthermore, Emily serves as one of the Lord Leader’s guards and has undergone intense training to resist spiritual attacks. Even a Tier 6 Peak master would find it impossible to force information from her mind. Besides, Emily could move through this area freely using that very pendant.”

The Catman elders began to calm down as they considered Lannis' words.

The Clan Leader was correct. Emily had been a troublemaker since childhood, frequently slipping out to play with children from other alliance clans, though she was often caught by the barriers upon her return and lectured by the Clan Leader.

As she matured, Emily studied how to circumvent the various defenses. She spent her time pestering the elders responsible for the barriers until she discovered a highly complex, secret path that bypassed all detection arrays and magic traps. The pendant was the essential key to navigating that route.

Lannis had eventually discovered this secret, but he chose not to close the loophole. He realized that if a crisis ever struck the Catman capital, Emily would be the only person capable of moving in and out undetected, making her role indispensable.

Moreover, as the Clan Leader had noted, Emily was a once-in-a-millennium prodigy. Despite her mischievous nature, her strength and Cultivation talent were extraordinary, and she had shattered numerous clan records from a young age.

Her resistance to spiritual attacks was so high that she surpassed even the elders, which was a primary reason for her appointment as the Leader's guard.

This meant that the Emperor of the Humans could only have arrived here silently if Emily herself had provided him with the specific route.

Across the hall, Leo Ray maintained a neutral expression, though he felt a secret sense of relief as the hostility in the elders' eyes began to fade.

He had indeed used the information provided by the masked Emily, who had even sketched a map of the route for him.

However, her drawing skills were so poor that the map looked like a chaotic scribble. Had it not been for the unique architecture of the Catman Clan and the relatively simple layout of the halls, he might have become lost in this massive palace, which was nearly as large as the Coldflame palace.

“Your Majesty, why did Emily give you her token and the secret path to this place? What has happened?”

Lannis’ stern face was etched with urgency as he pressed Leo Ray for answers.

Before Leo could respond, the scar-faced werewolf, sensing the tide turning against him, cut in sharply, “Clan Leader, do not let this deceptive Emperor of the Humans trick you!”

“Your Excellency Envoy, I am merely questioning His Majesty. Why does that make you so anxious?”

Lannis narrowed his eyes and spoke coolly, “Are you perhaps afraid that we might stumble upon a secret you wish to keep hidden?”

“The truth is clear now; you must be in league with the Emperor of the Humans! That is why you refuse to mobilize!”

The scar-faced werewolf sneered, his voice dripping with malice. “In that case, I shall destroy your hopes! Emperor of the Humans, die!”

Without warning, the scar-faced werewolf lunged at Leo Ray. He had already moved close, and now he unleashed a wave of murderous intent, summoning a long-handled axe to strike Leo down.

The hall was suddenly filled with the werewolf's violent energy, which was so intense that the surrounding space seemed to warp under the pressure of his momentum.

The Catman elders felt a cold shiver run down their spines as they watched.

The scar-faced werewolf was a Tier 6 Two Star powerhouse and a notorious figure within the Moon Demon Wolf Clan. He was known for defeating and even killing several experts of similar standing.

While the Emperor of the Humans was famous, the Humans were still considered relatively weak... and at this range, not even Lannis, the strongest among them, could intervene in time to stop the strike.

However, just as the werewolf’s malicious strike was about to connect, a purple light suddenly enveloped Leo Ray, who moved with incredible speed.

An instant later, a blinding flash of lightning erupted before the scar-faced werewolf. A surge of overwhelming power slammed into him, effortlessly'shattering his dense energy shield as if it were made of glass.

He looked down in shock to find a shimmering, multicolored longsword buried in his chest, leaving a gaping hole where his heart had been.

“You... how is this... possible?”

The murderous glint in the werewolf's eyes froze, and his massive, lifeless body hit the floor with a heavy thud.

The entire hall fell into a stunned silence.
