A squad of K3 Phantoms was overwhelmed by black-threat monsters. Just as they were about to perish, a miraculous spear from the sky destroyed their attackers. The Phantoms were saved by what they believed was a miracle, unaware it was Frida's intervention. Frida then confronted Adam and Kamora, who were heading towards the Nova Hail.

Every ordinary human, whether a baker or a major businessman, would look up and see only the sky, the clouds, the sun, and the stars.

This was true for every resident of the Citadel, and only a tiny fraction of the population knew what lay above the Citadel.

Adam, as a K4-Phantom who was just one step away from the Second Circle, knew about Heaven Island as well as Azure Island.

But even he did not yet know that there was something else above Azure Island.

"Nova Hail...?" Adam blinked, confused.

This was the first time he had heard of it. What’s more, even now, when he looked up, he saw nothing but the blue sky. At that altitude, there weren’t even any clouds hovering above them.

Kamora nodded.

"Yep, that’s exactly where you’ll be able to get the Fifth Anchor - the Nova Blast. It’s not the easiest Anchor, but it’s not the hardest either."

Frida, who was hovering nearby, frowned even more deeply.

"Kamora, I’m grateful to you for saving Adam and killing a True Lord, but do you even realize what you’re about to do? He’s still badly wounded and exhausted! He hasn’t even recovered 30% of his energy reserves yet!"

True.

Because Kamora was so fast, they reached the Citadel faster than Adam could have imagined, and they hadn’t even used Void Transit.

"Pfffft! If you’re so worried about his condition, then go ahead and heal him!"

Frida narrowed her eyes.

"That’s exactly what I’m going to do. I won’t let you go any further until Adam is back at his peak powers."

"Huh?"

Kamora lifted her chin haughtily as the smile vanished from her face, replaced by a cold scowl.

"What did you just say? Do you think you can tell me where to go?"

A dangerous glint flashed in Frida’s eyes as the air around her grew colder.

"Careful, Kamora. Here, near Azure Island, I’m in charge."

Tremble.

Without hesitation, they both unleashed their auras, causing the space around them to tremble from their combined power.

Still, they kept their auras in check, not letting them spread too far, otherwise, it might interfere with Heaven Island or even negatively affect the Citadel.

But the pressure was just as intense as when they were at full strength.

"Damn," Adam gulped. "If we don’t stop them, there could be trouble - especially for me."

"Frida..." Kamora hissed. "In my entire life, I’ve taken orders from only one person, and you know who I’m talking about."

However, Frida had no intention of backing down.

"I know. I’ve lived long enough to know about your status and what it means, but you also know who I am. I’m sure even for a wild beast like you, that must mean something."

Their Operators weren’t rushing to intervene in their clash. It could end badly for all of them.

But Adam realized something had to be done, right now.

"Ahem." Adam coughed, drawing attention to himself. "Miss Frida, I don’t mind regaining my powers, but Kamora said that if we don’t head to the Citadel right now, she’ll leave."

Frida’s grimace deepened.

"She’s just lying. Do you think someone like her has anything important to do? She can spend decades on whatever nonsense she wants. Given her power level, she can afford to do that, just like I can."

"Pfffft!" Kamora snorted. "I just wanted to help Adam get faster! He’s so close to the Second Circle!"

Frida was unyielding.

"Exactly. That’s why you need to give Adam time to recover so everything goes well for him."

Frida wasn’t about to back down, her piercing gaze could break even Kamora.

"Tsk." Kamora clicked her tongue. "Fine! I can wait a little while. I was going to wait until Adam got the Nova Blast anyway."

Adam sighed deeply inside.

’I see... So she actually just tricked me. Damn. Although... Considering it’s Kamora, I should’ve expected this, shouldn’t I?’

Frida crossed her arms over her chest.

"Out of respect for your time, Kamora, I suggest we get this done quickly. There are quite a few K4-Phantoms on my island. Some of them have healing abilities. They’ll help Adam recover as quickly as possible."

Kamora smirked.

"Good. But you should have started with that! And if I ever go solo, don’t you dare try to stop me. Do you understand?"

Frida rolled her eyes.

They were both Second Rank Phantoms. What’s more, their power level was even higher than that of, say, the Twelve Branches, but... Kamora was acting like a child. This both annoyed and puzzled Frida. She didn’t understand why someone with Kamora’s power couldn’t act seriously, just like an adult.

Strange as it may seem, most of the Second Rank Phantoms and True Lords would actually agree with Kamora.

Among the strongest beings in this world, only a small fraction were always as serious as Frida, it was exhausting, and after a few hundred years, it became simply unbearable.

"Sure. Whatever you say. Adam, have you ever been to my island?" Frida turned to him.

Adam shook his head.

"No, but I know what goes on there. You use that island to help Phantoms who’ve gotten into trouble. I guess I should thank you..."

Adam scratched the back of his head awkwardly.

"You’ve saved me at least twice."

Frida nodded deeply.

She didn’t remember everyone she’d saved or helped. Even in just one month, there had been several hundred cases, but she just couldn’t forget Adam.

"Sure, I remember it well. Though, I have to admit I didn’t think a risky Phantom like you would make it this far."

Tap.

Lamor appeared next to Kamora, and he’d done so for one reason only.

"Looks like Damien was right, doesn’t it?"

Frida frowned for a moment.

"Yeah, he was right, and that’s scary. But... In any case, if Adam Vinter really does become the next Second Rank Phantom, it’ll be a huge help to all of humanity."

Kamora waved her hand with an excited expression.

"Let’s head to the island!"
