Endless Evolution: Last Star Chapter 1962: Thirty-Three Walls

BAM! BAM! BAM!
For some time now, skirmishes had been taking place near Island A21, each time sending ripples across the surface of the sea.
The fight between the two figures took place over the sea so as not to harm the island and its precious Lucent Trees.
Adam accepted Prasyx’s challenge because he knew Prasyx was far stronger than Midgar. Perhaps Prasyx’s level was even higher than that of Ergander and Blafor. Adam still couldn’t determine that for sure.
Now, when he was a K4-Phantom facing the Grand Barrier, he could tell whether he was up against a Baron, a Viscount, or an Earl. But if it was one of the Ascended Lords, things became more complicated.
They were all at too high a level for Adam to tell the difference between them.
Moreover, in Prasyx’s case, Adam could barely sense his aura, even though they were fighting each other right now.
Bam!
Prasyx’s punch sent Adam flying to the side. He used his energy to slow the impact and come to a stop, creating ripples to his right and left.
"Not bad. No wonder you defeated a Viscount as a K4-Phantom. But if you want to defeat more serious opponents, you’ll need to break through the Grand Barrier and become a Second-Rank Phantom."
Adam snorted. "Tsk, you think I don’t know that?"
Prasyx spread his arms innocently.
"I’m just giving you a friendly reminder. Some K4-Phantoms, like you, have turned out to be talented enough to defeat a Baron, but instead of feeling joy, it gave them excessive overconfidence."
He smirked with a predatory glint in his eyes.
"They think they can now defeat any Lord, even though that’s not the case at all."
Adam wiped the sweat from his forehead, preparing for the next clash.
"Don’t worry. I know my limits, and I know I’m no match for you. I’m not sure I could leave a single scratch on you, even if I used everything I’ve got."
In response, Prasyx shrugged.
"Well, praise from me should be enough for you."
Then, he waved his hand as the space around him trembled.
Prasyx’s eyes flashed as a wall made of green energy scales appeared before him. After that, another wall appeared, and then another. They followed one after another until the last wall appeared right in front of Adam.
"I’m sure you still have important business to attend to at the Gray Sea, so I won’t waste any more of your time. Hit this wall with all your strength. The more walls you break, the better."
Adam’s gaze swept along the walls, quickly counting them.
"There are 40 of them here... How many do I have to break to get a pass from you?"
Prasyx touched his chin and thought for a moment.
"Hmm... How about 20? I think that’ll be enough for someone like you."
"Huh. I see. Do I have to use only my energy and physical strength?"
Prasyx nodded.
"Yes. That’ll be the fairest way. After all, for me it’s just entertainment, but for you it’ll be a good test of your strength. All these walls are equally strong - no tricks."
"Got it."
It was good for Adam that he didn’t have to use his abilities, since that would have drained a lot of his energy.
But for a single punch, even a very strong one, he’d only use a fraction of his energy, which would quickly replenish.
"Alright, I’ll do it."
Tremble!
His aura trembled as, in the next moment, a bright light burst from his clenched fist.
Prasyx narrowed his eyes, watching intently as the light gathered in Adam’s fist like a tiny star.
Under the pressure, space warped around Adam’s hand as blue flames billowed from his body in all directions.
"Good. With that kind of power, he has nothing to fear here."
Step!
Adam stepped forward, sending out waves as he thrust his fist forward.
BAM!
His fist slammed into the first wall, unleashing all its accumulated power in a single burst.
The impact swept through the many green walls ahead, sending water flying as if from an explosion and shattering one wall after another.
This continued until the thirty-third wall broke, and the next one merely cracked but remained intact.
"Gha...!"
Adam took a deep breath as he rested his hands on his knees. He had put everything into that single punch.
"Damn... My arm, it feels like I tried to knock down a mountain with a single blow!"
After a few more heavy sighs, Adam lifted his head to look at Prasyx.
"What do you think? Did I pull it off?"
Prasyx nodded.
"See for yourself."
Adam turned around, his eyes widening as a satisfied smile spread across his face.
Of the forty green walls, only seven remained.
"Hah, I did it!" Adam clenched his fist in joy.
"Sure, now, tell me what you’re going to do next. This is my last request before you leave."
"Sure," Adam smirked.
...
Adam told Prasyx everything about Breydar. He saw no point in hiding it, perhaps Prasyx might know something about it.
Unfortunately, Prasyx couldn’t help him this time.
"Breydar? The Veiled Souls Clan? Did he steal a Crystal of Hollow Souls from them?" Prasyx glanced at Adam.
He nodded in confirmation.
"Yes. That’s all I know."
"And where is this Breydar?"
Adam pointed ahead.
"Somewhere between Islands A150 and A180, if, of course, he’s still there and hasn’t gone any further."
"I see..." Prasyx fell silent for a moment.
Then, he nodded and crossed his arms over his chest.
"In that case, you have nothing to worry about. You’ll be fine even if you have to go beyond the 200th island."
"Hah, good to know." Adam chuckled.
He took one last look at the Lucent Trees before turning to Prasyx.
"Well, thanks for helping me out and treating me to your pears. Last time, you almost killed me for them!"
"Hahahah! Yeah, I just misunderstood you. Good luck." Prasyx smiled.
Adam nodded before taking flight, leaving Island A21.
Prasyx, for his part, remained at the edge of the island, watching Adam recede into the distance as his expression grew more serious.
’Well... You really are something, Adam Vinter. Broke through 33 walls? I thought your maximum would be 30. So it turns out I helped the next Second Rank Phantom today? Huh, guess today’s a good day!’
