Merra found herself trapped and vulnerable against a powerful girl wielding water shackles, her only ally Adam too weakened to help. Meanwhile, Zargos battled fiercely against Morok and two others, his flames overpowering their attacks but the fight dragging on longer than expected. A devastating comet crashed through the sky, revealing Zargos's sister, who brutally dispatched the girl after extracting information about their mission to capture or kill Adam Vinter. Turning her attention to Adam, she seized him by the neck, declaring her intent to eliminate those who trouble her brother.

Zargos's decision to aid Adam and rescue him from Morok's sudden attack stemmed partly from his desire to outdo his sibling.

His goal wasn't to shame her or claim the position of clan leader. Instead, he simply aimed to playfully mock her and witness her reaction upon discovering his superior strength.

Though these motivations seemed odd, they fit perfectly given their sibling bond and Zargos's unique personality.

Even after numerous extended talks with Zargos, Adam knew almost nothing about his sibling, Keranda.

The sole definite fact Zargos shared was that his sister possessed a terrifying nature.

At this moment, Adam fully understood the truth behind those words.

'Miss Keranda!' Merra cried out in alarm. 'Please release him! Mr. Zargos acted this way due to a pact he formed with Adam!'

Merra's words reached her ears, yet she refused to glance back, maintaining her tight hold on Adam's throat.

'Is that the case? Tell me, how did you encounter my brother?'

Adam found it hard to talk, yet he forced a grin onto his lips:

'That scoundrel abducted me... then... it became clear he had truly rescued me. Rather than say sorry, he proposed to boost my power... gave me some fruit and a drink, had his servant don a swimsuit, and afterward thrust me into his inner realm against my will...'

For an instant, Keranda's eyes grew wide.

No one could craft a truer portrayal of her brother. She accepted it without question.

Tap.

Her fingers relaxed, allowing Adam to drop onto the floor.

Cough! Cough! Cough!

Gasping for air, he gripped his neck. Just a bit longer, and he would have suffocated completely.

'Indeed, but... How exactly did you enhance his strength?' Keranda arched a brow.

Adam let out a light laugh.

'Heh, apologies, but that's for you to inquire from him. It's what he demanded.'

Saying nothing more, she gave a nod and moved toward the doorway.

'Come with me. Staying within my view will make it simpler for me to safeguard you.'

The young man lay there as she passed by. Blood poured from his neck, soaking the earth below, yet a injury like that wouldn't end his life.

Tap.

A sudden breeze lifted him up, katana clutched in his grasp. He expended every bit of his remaining power to move covertly and swiftly.

Should an opportunity arise to slay Keranda, he must seize it!

'Miss!' Merra shouted, though Keranda appeared oblivious, not bothering to look back.

Whooooosh!

With a swift pivot, Keranda's punch crashed against the young man's chin. Her gravitational surge and raw might surged through the blow.

The sharp snap of shattering bones and ripping skin echoed as his head snapped from his shoulders, colliding with the barrier.

Thump.

The headless form tumbled down, landing beside his katana.

'Alright, time to move. I need to assist my brother.' Her teeth clenched in quiet fury. 'Nobody has the right to harm him!!!'

A chill ran through Adam.

'Damn, he spoke the truth. His sister truly is terrifying. Wow, I can't even picture their arguments.'

He offered a wry smile.

'It's a mix of humor and intensity all in one.'

...

No one dared defy Keranda's commands, a fact that applied equally to Adam and Merra, who trailed after her without hesitation.

The moment Keranda showed up, everything shifted dramatically. This wasn't merely because they gained two top fighters from the Flaming Eye Clan as allies, but also due to her demeanor.

In contrast to Zargos, she avoided any levity. Her actions were stern and disciplined, akin to a soldier's. Her power allowed her to press on without pause, regardless of dangers ahead.

Step.

Keranda halted and advanced a step, her gaze expanding in surprise.

Meanwhile, Zargos clashed against Morok and two additional Lords. He managed to defend himself, but the relentless barrages of lightning and golden flames hampered him greatly, particularly from Morok.

The darkness emanating from Morok felt thick and suffocating.

'Is your fire capable of nothing more?' Morok scowled while balling his hand into a fist.

A cold tremor coursed along Zargos's back as he leaped aside. His red flames trailed after him, only to be engulfed by the shadows.

TREMBLE!

The dark surge ripped across the terrain, obliterating the lofty jungle foliage entirely. The foliage disintegrated into fragments, as though poisoned upon touch.

'Ha, you were far bolder in the past!' The female voice rang out with a cunning grin.

The burly figure bent ahead, poised for another assault.

Oddly, Zargos ignored their presence.

A faint grin on his face, he pivoted and gestured casually.

'Hey, it's been ages, right?'

Morok and his companions also looked over. This caught them off guard.

The woman swallowed hard.

'Hold on... Is that who I think it is?'

The sturdy man affirmed with a nod.

'Yes, Keranda. Boss, what's our plan? Facing both heads of the Flaming Eye Clan... Does Adam Vinter justify this?'

Morok had no chance to reply before Keranda lifted her arm and slashed it downward with force.

Tremble. Tremble. Tremble.

An intense force bore down on them, splitting the earth under their boots.

'Tch!' The woman snarled, her legs shaking uncontrollably.

Had lesser Lords stood there, they couldn't have remained upright; they'd be crushed flat against the soil.

Step. Step. Step.

Each footfall from Keranda intensified the weight, until the woman dropped to a single knee and crimson liquid dripped from the man's nostrils.

Positioning herself beside Zargos, she fixed a menacing stare on the trio of foes.

'Morok, you dared assault my brother? Has the shadows finally corroded your mind over all these years?'

His brow furrowed deeply.

'What are you implying? I'm obeying directives. Can't you grasp the threat Adam Vinter poses? Nobody wishes to discover his might in half a decade!'

A shadow crossed Keranda's features.

'Why should that concern me? From what I know, Adam Vinter stands as my partner. What threat do I face?'

Morok cast a final glance at Adam, then shook his head.

'Understood... Then we're withdrawing.'

This wasn't a calculated pullback. It was pure flight. In an instant, they dissolved into shadowy forms.

Tap.

Zargos placed his palm on Keranda's shoulder.

'Hey, sis. The battle's far from finished.'

A broad smile spread across his face.

'Care to chase down three prey? Same as old times?'
