Bologue unleashes the power of the Vengeful Saw Axe, binding it to himself. Olivia is shocked when reinforcements arrive, led by Serey. Church separates from Olivia, causing her to lose some memories and find herself surrounded by the Heartless. Bologue and Olivia work together, with Olivia using shadows and Bologue using his weapons and the Deceitful Snake Scale Liquid to fight the Heartless. Carol, a Seeker of Glory, attacks Bologue, but Olivia helps him defend by releasing Ether, allowing Bologue to escape into the shadows.

A shadow tore through the thick smoke, like a black serpent swiftly gliding across the ground, burrowing near Palmer and the others, emerging from the sturdy earth as if surfacing from underwater.

"Ha... there are far too many Heartless here."

Bologue emerged from the shadows, his face serious as he looked ahead.

He certainly had the power to destroy the Immortal Armor directly, significantly weakening the Heartless. However, this method of attack also consumed Bologue’s mental energy tremendously. Estimating that if he destroyed a few, Bologue would likely faint. Moreover, the enemy’s numbers were vast and their quality astoundingly high.

Not only were there Defenders present, but also the strength of the Seeker of Glory. Even though the Alchemy Matrix was outdated by this era, relying on the pure power of Ether, they were enough to flatten most of the enemies.

"Carol, Oken..."

Serey recognized the Heartless too, his previously cheerful expression turning icy.

Olivia glared at him viciously, "Do you have anything to say?"

"No... nothing," Serey shook his head, then quietly added, "This is my fault."

After the Dawn War, due to a lack of absolute courage and an indelible cowardice in his bones, Serey had always tried to resolve matters with an avoiding mentality, which led to the eventual incomplete reckoning.

Serey’s initial intention was to let the Night King and his Imperial Guard, driven insane by Bloodthirsty Syndrome over the long years, slaughter each other until death. This could both avenge them and allow Serey to avoid personally facing the Night King.

But Serey never anticipated that Olivia would become the biggest uncertainty, nor that the Regent King born from Olivia would find the Land of Eternal Night and trigger the series of subsequent events.

All the tumult appeared like tangled threads, eventually forming dead knots biting each other, leaving Serey unable to discern right from wrong, only wishing to lift the scissors and put an end to everything.

"Everyone, what should we do next?"

Palmer nervously gripped the rapier, his gaze roaming among the Heartless, "Forcefully break through and fight them to death?"

With simple evaluation, Palmer considered their odds of victory were slim; noting that Serey couldn’t act rashly to avoid attracting the Night King’s attention, rendering this Night Race Lord as useless as trash.

Apart from Serey, the only high-profile combatant among them was Bologue. Palmer admitted, Bologue was absurdly strong, but Palmer doubted Bologue could kill all these Heartless, not to mention, even if Bologue could manage it, would he have the strength to partake in the subsequent battles?

Most importantly, engaging in a battle with the Heartless would certainly attract other Night Race’s attention; in the heartland of the Royal City, they would undoubtedly become encircled, missing the opportunity to achieve their goal with each wave of offensives.

Hinda also understood the crisis at hand, proposing, "Retreat and maneuver a bit?"

Olivia was somewhat unwilling, pointing ahead, "Beyond that door is the Origin Tower! Once the ritual array there is destroyed, the Dark Iron Curtain can be dispersed!"

Serey softly replied, "But simultaneously, we’ll face the Night King directly."

Olivia paused, questioning, "Are you not prepared yet? If you weren’t ready, why did you come here?"

Serey said, "I came to rescue you."

Olivia chuckled, shaking her head, "You’re ready to rescue me, but not ready to face him... you truly are a complicated person."

Confronting Olivia’s sarcasm this time, Serey merely smiled awkwardly.

"Perhaps."

Discussing this, Serey’s eyes filled with confusion.

"Let’s not debate over this now, everyone."

Bologue’s words interrupted the group’s argument, standing at the forefront like a heavy rock, steadying the situation and hearts.

"They’re coming."

Bologue tightened his grip on the weapon, the Deceitful Snake Scale Liquid extending into a Rhombus Shield, hovering around him like surrounding satellites.

Seeing this, Olivia ceased her argument with Serey, asking, "Did you bring the Bloodthirsty Dagger?"

"Right here."

Serey produced the dagger, filled with blood, showing a bright red metallic hue.

"You know how to use it."

After Olivia spoke, her body collapsed into shadows, merging into the shadow beneath Bologue’s feet. Bologue glanced downwards; his vague humanoid shadow enlarged several times, with sharp claws and fangs growing, as if a terrifying creature was indeed concealed beneath him.

Serey reversed his grip on the dagger, even though he couldn’t reveal his presence, supplementing the final strike after Bologue’s attack was still feasible. With the power of the Bloodthirsty Dagger, Serey was capable of completely annihilating the Heartless.

He whispered within, "Let’s treat it as a belated reckoning."

Aimou and Bologue overlapped, providing Bologue with comprehensive support. Olivia hid within the shadows, assisting Bologue in combat. Palmer offered Bologue the protection of wind, while Hinda raised her firearm, aiming at the adversaries along Bologue’s path.

With everyone ready, Bologue knew he needed to fight swiftly. The hearty Ether filled his body, stepping forward, crushing the fragile ground.
