Bologue returns to the Order Bureau and then to the Sublimation Furnace Core. He learns Aimou is dealing with miscellaneous tasks and finds her asleep in her office. Bologue decides to wait quietly for her to wake up, contemplating future plans against the Rebellious Royal Court and the settlement of Serey and Olivia.

Aimou knew that strange ideas often popped into Bologue’s mind, and she listened quietly.

"Then I thought, human beings must have realized this during biological evolution. Originally, life was short, and we had to sleep every day, so humans evolved... to dream."

"Dream? Evolved just to dream?"

"Of course, don’t you think dreaming is interesting?" Bologue pointed to the screen showing the production credits, "It’s filled with all sorts of absurd and bizarre plots, like a freakish film shot by a bunch of lunatics."

Bologue continued, "I really enjoy dreaming; it feels like watching a unique movie that belongs only to me."

Hearing this, Aimou couldn’t help but recall something she heard before, "The invention of movies extended human life several times over."

"Yes, so dreams are also a means of extension."

Watching the end credits slowly fade into complete darkness, Bologue sighed, "I sometimes feel that maybe all of humanity made a deal with the Devil, gaining the power to dream to live longer, and the price is that every time we wake from a dream, we forget these precious things completely."

Listening to Bologue, Aimou whispered, "It sounds quite romantic."

Influenced by Bologue, since then, Aimou became even more fond of sleeping and dreaming. It not only relieved work stress but also brought her a little comfort.

As part of her Steel Body, she didn’t need much rest, operating incessantly like a machine. With this reason, Aimou told herself that sleeping wasn’t a waste of time, but an enjoyment of romantic dreams.

The bizarre world slowly drifted away as Aimou lifted her head from the desk, vigorously rubbing her numb face, feeling a faint pain on her skin. She guessed that the documents had left red marks on her face.

The workload recently had been too heavy. Whenever she had a break, Aimou would nap in her office. The occurrences had become so frequent that Aimou considered getting a folding bed for her office.

"Looks like you had a good sleep."

A familiar voice sounded, handing her a tissue. He dabbed at the moisture at the corner of Aimou’s mouth, "Wipe it, it’s drooled out."

"Oh, thank you."

Aimou thanked as she took the tissue, her unclear mind slow to react.

One second, two seconds... It wasn’t until half a minute later that Aimou’s action of wiping her mouth suddenly stopped. Her muddled awareness became clear, and the halo in her eyes contracted sharply.

She looked up, and there Bologue was, standing behind the desk, oblivious to Aimou’s reaction, rummaging through luggage as if trying to find something.

"Bo... Bologue?"

Aimou tried hard not to scream, but anyone suddenly waking to such a scene would have some sort of reaction, right?

"Mm-hmm, I just got back from the Land of Secrets. The mission went smoothly, so I can rest for a while now," Bologue reported meticulously, as if debriefing a mission, "I also brought some gifts back, come take a look."

Bologue didn’t give Aimou a chance to speak, handing over a heavy object as if following procedure, which Aimou hazily took with both hands.

It was a container, a small specimen bottle filled with light green preservation solution, inside which floated a withered heart with a human face.

"It’s a long story. In short, I managed to get a few withered Fantasy Species and luckily preserved them completely. Although they’ve lost their Fantasy Becoming Reality power, they’re still rare collectibles."

This thing was taken from the Speaker. Bologue thought it was of no use anymore and had Ossana handle it for him.

Ossana did a great job, as Bologue hadn’t expected it to be preserved intact. After discussing with Ossana, he learned that as part of the Fantasy Family, Ossana’s family had collected many of these things. It’s considered a family specialty, almost like a local specialty.

Aimou, just wrapping her head around Bologue’s return, was further overwhelmed by this eerie object, responding in a standard polite tone amidst the confusion.

"Okay, thank you."

Glancing at Bologue’s earnest demeanor, then at the mournful face in the container, Aimou doubted reality, frowning.

There wasn’t even time to express her joy at seeing Bologue again, as Aimou’s emotions grew complex because of this strange gift. She knew Bologue was an odd guy and the specimen of a Fantasy Species was indeed a rare treasure, quite a substantial gift.

But... but...

It just felt weird, like Bologue went to war, returning with a fresh, still-bleeding head as a gift, proudly declaring.

"Aimou, this is the head of the strongest enemy, now it’s been chopped off by me, you can hang it on the wall as an ornament."

Truly... very strange.

Even though it was strange, Aimou still solemnly accepted Bologue’s gift, after all, it was given by Bologue.

"And then..."

Bologue looked down and continued rummaging through his luggage, which was a mess. God knows what he brought back as Aimou placed the specimen bottle on the shelf behind, hoping anyone who saw it wouldn’t think of her as some mad scientist.

"By the way, hold out your hand."

"Okay."

Aimou obediently extended her hand, feeling a chill on her wrist. Looking down, she found a uniquely shaped Silver bracelet slipped onto her wrist. It was designed as if made of intertwining branches, crafted with exquisite detail, as if truly woven from bleached twigs.

"What is this?" Aimou asked, a bit puzzled.

"A gift."

"Two?" Aimou, bewildered, made a victory sign.

"Almost, one is a gift I subjectively thought would be interesting."

Bologue glanced at the specimen bottle, genuinely finding the gift very cool. Yet, even so, he said, "But subjective preferences are limited; not everyone feels the same as me, so this is Plan B."

Gently tapping the bracelet, Bologue continued, "A mainstream, universally liked gift."

Bologue didn’t know which one Aimou would prefer, so he opted for both.
