Bologue contemplates the visitors and the true nature of Devils, realizing they likely demand human souls as payment for the power they granted. Meanwhile, the Order Bureau successfully purged resistance at the Nest Core. Bologue reunites with Palmer, who recounts their recent battles and the rescue of Nesanel. They observe Heine's forces arriving to secure the Land of Secrets, now under the Order Bureau's control after the defeat of the Ancestral Council. Despite their victory, both Bologue and Palmer feel a sense of unease, anticipating a larger conflict.

The follow-up dealings with the All Secrets Order were much more troublesome than Bologue imagined, starting with helping the Dreamer Family rebuild power structures, followed by the Order Bureau’s further infiltration of the All Secrets Order, taking dominance, sharing knowledge, intelligence, and research, integrating these scattered forces and binding them together...

Just hearing about these things is enough to give one a headache, but fortunately, Bologue doesn’t have to be responsible for them.

After Heine’s troops completely occupied the Supreme Hub and cleared away the piles of corpses, under the guidance of the Dreamer Family, a temporary Curved Path Gate was constructed, which would land at the Transfer Station, becoming one among many gates, leading directly to the headquarters of the Order Bureau, the Cultivation Room.

After confirming safety, batches of logistics staff descended via the Curved Path Gate. They first vomited on-site for three minutes and, after taking some simple medication, immediately rushed into their work frantically.

The field staff were responsible for fights and killings, while the logistics staff were in charge of production and operation, each performing their own duties.

In this intense operation, Bologue and others were instead idle, as there were no enemies left in the Land of Secrets, and the Sharp Sword was thus sheathed.

Following that, Bologue spent several more days within the Land of Secrets. During these days, the Land of Secrets was still nervously being rebuilt and rearranged; the end of one war is naturally the beginning of another.

During these few days, Bologue almost roamed every corner of the Land of Secrets, also returning to the areas where he had previously fought. At the bottom of the forging pit, Bologue met a group of extremely rare individuals.

The Fifth Group, Hunter’s Bow.

Within the Field Operations Department, there are many action groups that don’t have much presence, rarely operating in public view, mostly assuming some extremely special functions, such as the Eighth Group, Disaster Warning Team, which nests in deep forests for years, chasing Ethereal Vortex Points, or the Fourth Group, Desperate Watcher, who held their posts in the Abandoned Land all along.

The Fifth Group is similarly a special action group, skilled in tracking, roaming between nations like bounty hunters, hunting criminals wanted by the Order Bureau. Apart from this, they have a significant distinction from other field staff: almost every member of the Fifth Group has a beast, alchemically modified, as a partner.

Hunting dogs, falcons, warhorses... After targeted specialization, the beasts assist the Fifth Group like specialized tools.

When Bologue arrived at the underground dock, he saw several members of the Fifth Group investigating there, with hunting dogs sniffing incessantly at dried blood stains.

Noticing Bologue’s curiosity, a staff member named Hinda explained to Bologue, "Recently, we’ve been tracking the Night Race, and these little things, after training, are extremely sensitive to the Night Race’s scent, even a week later, they can detect some clues."

Bologue nodded, watching a hunting dog pass by his feet, its body muscular, its neck adorned with a collar like thorns, its back clad in a layer of defensive chain armor.

Bologue had no doubts that this ghostly thing, if necessary, could bite a First Stage Condenser to death. Such specially enhanced alchemical creatures were referred to as little things by Hinda.

The hunting dog circled around Bologue several times, its gaze gradually becoming cautious, with a low growl of warning coming from its throat.

"Is it trying to attack me?" Bologue asked.

"Quiet, this one is not an enemy."

Hinda said, slapping the hunting dog on the head with a light hit, turning the dog’s head askew with a pat. The large heap of a hunting dog let out a sound of grievance and turned to continue its search.

Bologue’s expression was somewhat complex. At that moment, he couldn’t help but think of Leica, that giant beast-like dog, the childhood friend of Palmer.

"Sorry, it just smells a strong Night Race blood scent on you," Hinda explained, "Even with various enhancements, they’re still not as smart as humans and can’t handle overly complex matters without a beast tamer’s guidance."

Bologue expressed understanding, considering how even communication between people is troublesome, let alone between humans and other creatures.

"Is it behavioral understanding? Or tacit coordination; you seem to understand its words." Bologue curiously asked.

"All these factors are involved, but the most crucial is long-term training and collaboration," Hinda introduced, "This relates to our tradition, as every member joining the Fifth Group receives a partner to raise from a young age, undergoing alchemical transformation along with our advancement."

Hinda smiled at Bologue, "Over time and with some special methods, we can achieve a level of communication with them; it’s like a unique secret energy."

Bologue watched the back of the hunting dog searching, besides it, there were several hunting dogs sniffing around the dock.

"Any clues?"

Bologue glanced at the churning underground river; the Night Race of the Rebellious Royal Court was using this hidden passage to transport blood citizens continuously outward. Perhaps something could be found along the river.

"We found something, but it’s not exactly a discovery," Hinda explained, "On the first day of investigation, we followed this underground river to a coastal exit, where there’s an abandoned outpost on the coast, abandoned only recently, likely related to the events of that day."

Bologue responded somewhat disappointedly, "Alright, I understand."
