Fabien speculates that a god may be causing temporal distortions, repeating history. Bologue questions this, but Fabien intends to prove the world is false through temporal collapse. Bologue dismisses the idea of gods, believing them to be devils, and that any divine favor has long since vanished, with any such god likely dead. Later, Bologue considers Fabien's ideas and realizes the 'Extraterrestrial Visitor' might be the true god, confirming gods once existed but are now dead.

In Fabien’s wild imaginations, the gods repeatedly reboot the world, but their purpose remains unknown. Meanwhile, in the real world, visitors from beyond bestowed power upon eight individuals: seven became Devils, and one turned into the Secret Source.

The visitors fulfilled their wishes, granting the eight the great power to stand alongside the gods... but what was the price?

What was their purpose?

Bologue slowly sat down on the steps, overthinking made the answer clearer, all the unreasonable doubts about Devils were explained at this moment.

It was too simple, just a matter of reversing the thought; consider the visitors as the true Devils, and the eight merely Debtors who signed a Blood Contract with the Devil, each gaining a portion of power...

Think about it, over the centuries, Bologue couldn’t understand the Devils’ constant craving for human souls, what if the collection of human souls is the price for their powers?

The visitors demanded such a price from the Devils, to gather endless souls for them, and this vast sea of souls could complete one of their purposes.

Such as... resurrect them?

The approaching footsteps broke Bologue’s thoughts, as he nervously looked down, he saw a mischievous face.

"Bologue!"

Palmer waved excitedly at Bologue, seeing him lively and energetic, it was evident the battle at the Nest Core had ended, and all resistance forces had been purged by the Order Bureau.

"Oh... Palmer."

Bologue tried to break free from those heavy thoughts and attempted to integrate back into the world’s correct path.

"Come on," Palmer continued to wave, "you can’t miss this."

"What’s happening?"

Bologue walked down, since Palmer was fine, Olivia should also be alright, as well as everyone else.

No one expected that with this elite force, the Order Bureau broke through the All Secrets Order so quickly... perhaps this was normal, with the intervention of Extraordinary Power, conventional warfare would be completely transformed.

Wars are no longer drawn-out battles, repeated trench warfare, or city bombings. They become like ancient duels, elite warriors against elite warriors, deciding the world’s fate in brief moments with a few people’s swords.

On the way, Bologue inquired, "What happened after I left?"

"As per your instructions, Olivia and I first transferred The Imperfects to the Wasteland District," Palmer recounted events that unfolded, "There, we were pursued by Condensers, but luckily Ossana and Fabien appeared, joined our operation, and returned to the bottom of the forge pit, rising from the Supreme Hub."

Palmer narrated events that Bologue wasn’t involved in, "We encountered Nesanel near the Ethereal Furnace, who was under siege by the Duke of Origin and Spirit Duke."

Hearing this, Bologue became worried, since this happened after he left.

"How is the Deputy Director?" Bologue asked concernedly.

"No major issues, we arrived in the nick of time, five versus two, took considerable effort, but we killed one, incapacitated another."

Palmer beamed as he spoke of these, with excitement on his face.

Bologue breathed a sigh of relief, he didn’t care about the enemy’s casualties, only whether Nesanel was still alive, he actually quite liked this Deputy Director, sometimes feeling they shared many similarities.

Under Palmer’s guidance, Bologue traversed multiple layers, eventually arriving at an extended terrace, from which he could overlook the entire city of the Land of Secrets.

Looking out, Bologue first saw pieces of ruins, remnants of the High Tower piled like a giant corpse, thick black smoke pouring from ruptured wounds.

Clearly, this was Bologue’s masterpiece, as single-handedly, he nearly destroyed part of the district, while other areas remained intact, unaffected by the ravages of war.

Apparently, both sides maintained certain restraint in this battle, avoiding large-scale disaster that would engulf the city in flames. In this war of few, the majority had no voice, living solely at the mercy of a few.

"What’s that?"

Bologue noticed several trains entering the edge of the Land of Secrets, blurry figures poured from the carriages, assembling into formations on the platform.

Bologue’s eyesight was never great, and from this distance, he couldn’t see anything clearly. Palmer also narrowed his eyes beside him, delightedly saying, "At this time, who else could it be coming from outside?"

Upon the platform, Heine emerged from the train carriage, taking one gaze at the Land of Secrets, this city hidden in a circular gorge remained somewhat serene. Yet Heine, in this tranquility, felt the lingering Ether fluctuations in the air, foreseeing a monumental battle that had just occurred.

"Phew... perfect timing."

Heine sighed, filled with relief.

Within the Order Bureau and Ossana’s plot, battle would sooner or later erupt, and when war broke, Heine planned to lead a massive Condensers force and armed civilian soldiers towards the Land of Secrets.

High Tier Condensers clashing with High Tier Condensers, the numerous Low Tier Condensers handled by Heine’s troops.

In Heine’s envisioning, his forces would endure a harsh siege, possibly losing many troops in securing entry into the Land of Secrets, marking only the beginning of war.

Soldiers would flood between the High Towers, engaging fiercely in cover after cover, gradually consuming the city until brought under control.

Heine readied for significant casualties but, fortunately, the mission proceeded unexpectedly smoothly, with Bologue and others piercing the High Tower before Heine’s arriving forces.

The Ancestral Council was annihilated, the Dukes of the Four Great Clans either dead or wounded, leaving the visionary family laughing last and naturally gaining control over the All Secrets Order.

To demonstrate sincerity and allegiance, allowing Heine’s forces to station unguardedly, Condensers and soldiers followed orders, progressively taking over city defenses.

The Imperfects in the Wasteland District did not resist much against these changes, in many people’s eyes, whether ruled by the Ancestral Council or the Order Bureau made little difference, and plenty welcomed the Bureau’s presence for heralding the Ancestral Council’s destruction. True Faction remnants also supported the visionary family, gladly greeting the arrival of Order Bureau.

Intense conflicts arose among Condensers, refusing to yield to the Order Bureau. However, with the Aurora Path encircling the city, broadcasts announced the Dukes’ deaths along with the Ancestral Council’s collapse, the majority chose submission. Those resisting, after several bloody incidents, had to bow to reality.

Bologue stood on high, expressionlessly overseeing all, Palmer beside him couldn’t resist saying, "Smile a bit, partner, we’ve won it all."

Happy?

Bologue really wanted to be happy, but remembering Fabien’s nonsense and all his associations from overthinking, he couldn’t relax, nor would he share with Palmer.

Telling troubles to Palmer wouldn’t solve problems, but drag Palmer into the same abyss. Seeing Palmer so joyous, Bologue felt he should let him enjoy the honor a little longer.

"However... indeed," Palmer’s smile gradually faded, turning as cold as Bologue, "It feels impossible to be happy about this."

Bologue looked at Palmer slightly surprised, as this guy rarely showed such deep thinking expressions, it was like watching a monkey contemplate.

"What’s up?"

Palmer turned to Bologue, grasping the railing awkwardly.

"We resolved the All Secrets Order, uniting the Rhine Alliance completely, leaving only one voice."

Palmer paused, saying dejectedly, "Addressed the internal strife, now all that awaits us is...

All-out war."
