Fabien theorizes that their reality might be an illusion, a construct of a "Fantasy Species" or a disordered time axis. He proposes that creating a large enough disruption to this time axis could reveal the true world. Bologue questions the origin of this disorder and who could possibly engineer such a monumental "Great Project," to which Fabien cryptically suggests a deity.

It was as if he had just gone through an intense lecture; sweat streamed down Fabien’s face, and his breath was labored. Bologue was having a hard time too, his heart pounding violently.

"Hold on, let me straighten out my thoughts."

Bologue was left a bit bewildered by Fabien’s mad ideas.

"You think, it’s quite possible that there’s a god in this world, who has thrown the entire world into a temporal disorder, repeatedly reenacting our history for some unknown purpose," Bologue murmured, "events that have already happened, and even the conversations between you and me may have been repeated countless times."

Fabien affirmed Bologue’s words; just from Bologue’s expression, he could tell that Bologue was indeed captivated by his wild imagination.

Bologue said, "But there’s a problem with this, Fabien, everything you mentioned is based on the premise that the world is not real."

"So in the rest of my research, I will verify this question," Fabien returned to the topic, "If I succeed and cause a temporal collapse, it proves the world is false; but if I fail, the world is real."

"What if the success you envision still cannot shake the timeline?" Bologue shook his head, "you still can’t falsify it."

Fabien fell silent, exhaling a sigh like he was deflated, "Even so, one cannot just give up."

He asked Bologue again, "Bologue, aren’t you curious about the truth of the world? The Ethereal Realm, Ether, the Devil, where did all of this come from..."

Bologue’s expression changed slightly; he actually knew the truth of the world, but regrettably, he couldn’t tell Fabien these extremely important pieces of information. Besides, if he knew the essence of the world, how would Fabien’s twisted thoughts react?

As a member of the Fantasy family, Fabien’s knowledge of Fantasy Species far exceeded the average person, and his excessive obsession with the research of Fantasy Species led him to produce these series of obsessive conjectures.

Would Fabien collapse? Or would he construct an even more distorted fantasy based on this information?

"I’m curious, but it’s just curiosity," Bologue said, stomping his foot, "I’m a more pragmatic person, not looking too far ahead."

This time, Bologue turns proactive, questioning Fabien, "And... do you really believe there’s something called gods in this world?"

Gods, such high and mighty beings.

Initially, influenced by the memory of his "past life," Bologue didn’t believe in the existence of so-called gods, but when he left Redwood Town, embarked on that endless war, shivering in trenches, when reality nearly crushed him entirely, in the absence of any hope, Bologue once desperately wished for the existence of gods, praying for their blessing.

"No..."

Bologue answered Fabien, his tone firm and undeniable, "Fabien, there’s no such thing as gods in this world. It’s just a mob of frenzied and twisted devils. Even if the divine glow once favored this world, that blessing has long disappeared."

As for that god, more likely, it has already died.

Fabien’s fanatical demeanor gradually cooled, seemingly filled with newfound rationality, his gaze turned clear, his expression returning to that initial mysterious and solemn look.

"It’s just speculation."

Fabien said, "A slightly crazy idea... I think such thoughts are important. It’s these extreme things that can forcibly advance civilization’s progress at crucial moments."

Bologue didn’t refute Fabien’s words; people like him were everywhere in the Sublimation Furnace Core and Scholars’ Hall; to Bologue, this was no surprise.

"I should go," Bologue stood up, "there are still many things to handle."

Fabien gently responded, he and Bologue passed each other, one going up, the other going down, gradually, their footsteps faded and disappeared.

Bologue’s lonely figure walked in the endless stairwell; even though he’d already determined Fabien’s words were just insane fantasies, those thoughts still lingered relentlessly in Bologue’s mind.

The god is dead... The god is dead...

Bologue attempted to hypothesize according to Fabien’s line of thought, assuming there really was a god?

The blazing, perpetually restless storm appeared before Bologue’s eyes; his pace involuntarily slowed by a few fractions, a strange sense of detachment spread from his innards.

In the Ether Realm, with the unending storm, the eighth wish-maker, the source of the Alchemy Matrix, the true God of Condensation.

Bologue realized that if there truly was a god, then it could only be it.

Secret Source.

"No... No."

Without engaging in further thought, Bologue swiftly rejected his hypothesis.

The Secret Source wasn’t a god, its power came from another.

Bologue stood dazed, gradually realizing, he found the true god, confirming that gods indeed once existed in this world, and simultaneously, as Bologue said, the god has died.

"Extraterrestrial Visitor."

Bologue’s voice was low, like an indistinct muttering, "Visitor from the Terminal World."

From Hill’s memories, it could be confirmed that the Extraterrestrial Visitor was the source of all these disputes; it created the Devil and Secret Source, bringing forth the Ethereal Realm.

But it died...

Bologue only considered Fabien’s various statements as a brainstorming session, a surprisingly wonderful conjecture, yet at this moment, Bologue was inspired by Fabien’s nonsense.
