Endless Debt Chapter 1352 - 108: Initial Scroll_3
Previously on Endless Debt...
Aimou stood not far away, appearing somewhat bewildered herself, but her confusion was completely different from Bologue’s. Aimou was puzzled by why Bologue’s attitude towards these two Devils was so... peaceful?
In Aimou’s imagination, the two Devils should have just arrived from the Ethereal Realm, and should be stalling for time until Bologue’s resurrection, then the two would join forces to fight against evil to the death.
But now, it seemed like they had met each other many times before, with a familiarity akin to a group of rowdy friends who might even have collaborated on certain plots before. Were they not in such a dangerous situation and burdened with shared responsibilities, they might even arrange for a drink together tonight.
"Sai Zong?"
Aimou repeated the name Bologue just used to call the scar-covered Devil, addressing him.
Sai Zong’s wandering gaze was forced to meet Aimou’s gaze, and under scrutiny, Aimou actually found a hint of familiarity in his face.
Sai Zong didn’t want to think about anything, nor did he want to explain anything, his tone carried a hint of pleading.
"Don’t tell the club members."
"Ah?"
Aimou’s mind was also struggling to catch up. When she looked at Bologue again, she really wanted to, like a character in a romantic movie, loudly question Bologue, "Just how many things are you hiding from me?"
She knew this was not a good time to throw a tantrum, so Aimou left Bologue with a quiet space to think, also giving herself a moment to understand these matters.
"Beelzebub’s goal is to have the Beast of the Herd take the Golden Palace away. I guess she indeed has this ability, by using a method of long-distance teleportation through blood, she could definitely move it. As for Radiance, in Beelzebub’s territory, there is plenty of flesh to burn... So what is your goal then? To stop her? And what do you have to stop her with?"
Bologue simply analyzed the current situation; Devils cannot directly interfere with reality. So the true enemies now are the Beast of the Herd and the elusive Regent King.
Before, Bologue felt overwhelmed by pressure. But now, having two Devils standing by his side, he could almost embrace them in cheers.
Being asked about the plan, Leviathan did not hide, "It’s simple, destroy this place."
Leviathan looked around, "King Solomon, by human forces, forcibly sublimated this place to overlap with the Ethereal Realm, gaining endless Ether. But with his death, this place can no longer maintain the sublimation state for long; the purposely weighed material is gradually becoming lighter, until it escapes the gravitational binding, until it ascends back to where it belongs..."
"My plan is simple, to separate the overlapping worlds. The Radiance, losing its fuel, will become uncontrollable, collapse; Solomon’s meticulously built system will collapse, and together, the entire Golden Palace will become a blazing inferno."
"Nice plan, but none of you can execute this plan," Bologue said and glanced at Sai Zong. "You don’t want to stain your hands with blood again, do you?"
As a Devil, Leviathan cannot directly interfere with all this, and Sai Zong, due to his special nature, Sai Zong can indeed do this, but the bloodshed will increase the chances of awakening Samuel.
Leviathan smiled, "Are you volunteering?"
"I have a better plan, let the Beast of the Herd in here. As the system collapses and Radiance burns the Golden Palace, we can also take advantage and deal with the Beast of the Herd," Bologue tempted. "It’s a chance to weaken Beelzebub."
Leviathan questioned, "I don’t understand, even if the Beast of the Herd is let in, with the current intensity of the Radiance, it still can’t kill it. Moreover, Beelzebub will definitely be present then."
"The ’inside’ I refer to is not here," Bologue pointed to the endless dark blue behind them, "but further inside, banishing it into the Ethereal Realm through this overlapping point."
Bologue challenged, "You can do nothing in the Material Realm; are you saying the same in the Ethereal Realm?"
"Interesting suggestion," Leviathan clapped his hands excitedly, "This is much more fun than I thought."
"Then I guess, Bologue, you definitely won’t willingly cooperate with us, will you? What do you want?"
The essence of negotiation with Devils is trade. Although Bologue is human, he feels his way of thinking aligns more and more with Devils.
"Inheritance, I need King Solomon’s inheritance."
The Golden Palace has become the core of a power struggle among Devils. Bologue is sure that this magnificent palace is doomed, and he must extract sufficient benefits amid this terrifying risk.
"He left quite a bit of inheritance; specifically, what kind do you want?"
Leviathan took a few steps closer to Bologue; earlier, he had a carefree demeanor, his aura calm enough that an ordinary person could approach and share a joke with him.
But when it comes to negotiation, it’s as if touched Leviathan’s essence; he instantly reverted to that familiar posture in memory.
A mystical, sinister, and cunning Devil.
"Like going to a library, you can’t just tell the librarian you need a book. Who knows which book I should give you?" Leviathan continued, "You can’t say, ’Give me the most powerful book.’ Everyone is different, each person’s definition of power is different.
Maybe I’ll give you a fantastic cookbook. I’ve been really into cooking lately. Of course, you can’t say you want all the books; the matter you’re helping me with next doesn’t warrant such a wish."
After ridiculous laughter, Leviathan seriously asked.
"What do you want, Bologue Lazarus?"
Bologue did not respond immediately. Having been in Raymond Gaudent for so long, Bologue did not know many "titles."
Soulless technology?
The resources collected have been incinerated by the Radiance, but fortunately, Aimou’s exceptional memory, for an Alchemy Puppet, recalling certain things is as simple as writing data into memory.
Even if the obtained material is fragmented, with the research capability of the Order Bureau, quite a bit should be able to be reconstructed, and Bologue already knows how to refine the primal matter, just needing a sufficiently deep drilling well, without even digging anew; the Abyssal Well within the ruins could be reused after events settle.
Only one option remains, the one frequently mentioned by Saqin, something hyped up like the Holy Relic of Raymond Gaudent.
"Initial Scroll," Bologue said. "I want the Initial Scroll."
