Aimou encountered Leviathan and Sai Zong, who revealed that Bologue was Leviathan's Chosen One. When Aimou tried to attack Leviathan with her sword, he demonstrated his invulnerability by healing himself instantly after she severed his head. Aimou glimpsed an absolute, eternal darkness within the darkness.

Deathly silence, not a sound remains.

Aimou felt deep sorrow at such a desperate outcome, and couldn’t help but shed tears.

After wiping away the tears, Aimou’s emotions returned to stability. She thought she wasn’t a person who easily empathizes... perhaps because the darkness was too profound, profound enough for her physiological instincts to react.

"Your reaction is quite unexpected," Leviathan said.

Aimou didn’t want to explain anything, letting her hands fall powerlessly, she understood that in this situation, she could only submit to fate, not knowing what this Devil named Leviathan intended to do.

"What did he do at the time?"

Aimou turned her head, glancing at Bologue’s corpse. In this high concentration Ether environment, Bologue’s self-healing speed was rapid, the burns left by the light on his skin had mostly healed on their own, and even his severed limbs had grown new flesh.

If only some more time could be delayed... Bologue should be able to come back to life.

Professional and miraculous as he was, Bologue always found a way to break through; he is surely capable of it, and now Aimou’s task was just to buy time.

The plan was complete in Aimou’s mind, Aimou asked again, "What did Bologue do at that moment?"

Leviathan didn’t quite understand, "Which part are you referring to?"

"His outburst."

"Oh, he was even more childish than you," Leviathan said, "I invited him for a game of chess, he refused me, saying that I must beg him before he’d agree to play."

"And then?"

Aimou noticed the difference between these two Devils: one kept rambling, the other was silent. Perhaps that’s just how Devils are, fickle and treacherous.

"Then? Then I begged him," Leviathan said, "I pleaded, ’Great Mr. Lazarus, please play a game of chess with me.’"

Leviathan observed Aimou’s expression, reading one satisfactory reaction after another.

"I don’t care about those things, like honor, dignity etc., you must know, we’re not the same species at all," Leviathan attempted to explain to Aimou, "The gap is like... between humans and animals. Your hatred for me and such, often just leaves me puzzled."

Despite Leviathan’s explanation, Aimou did not resonate with Leviathan but rather deepened her impression of these detestable creatures.

What do you mean not the same species? Devils are just too arrogant, seeing themselves as gods, while demeaning humanity.

Sai Zong asked curiously, "After you begged him, what was Bologue’s reaction?"

Even someone as indifferent as Sai Zong could not help but feel a bit intrigued by this bizarre conversation.

"He? He was quite disappointed," Leviathan waved innocently, "He was dispirited, but he still played a game with me... what do you think, Bologue?"

Leviathan suddenly turned his head, looking at the corpse lying on the ground, "Do I need to ’beg’ you again?"

Seconds later, the corpse took a deep breath, like a balloon being inflated, expanding his lungs. Then he flipped over, although his arms hadn’t fully healed, his legs were able to move.

Bologue shakily stood up, facing Leviathan and Sai Zong, while Aimou quickly stepped forward, deftly putting the grudge back into his hand, and then positioned herself behind Bologue, hands resting on his shoulders, ready to use Heart Overlapping Shadow at any moment.

"Why are you here?"

Bologue rubbed his head; the light had scorched him bald, and his hair wouldn’t grow back anytime soon.

"As you can see, this is also a point of overlap between the Ethereal Realm and the Material Realm, namely the Gate of Origin I mentioned to you," Leviathan stated seriously, "Using this point of overlap, we came directly from the Ethereal Realm."

Leviathan wasn’t lying; while all forces were fighting fiercely for the Golden Palace, he was truly idly strolling through the Ethereal Realm, talking leisurely with Sai Zong. The journey was so smooth that even Sai Zong was briefly shocked upon discovering he was indeed inside the Golden Palace.

"What are you here for?" Bologue asked again.

"Some historical legacy issues," Leviathan said, "I need to clean them up before the rest of my kin arrive."

"I guess it’s Beelzebub," Bologue stretched out, having rarely died so completely, "Once the monster outside suppresses the light and delivers flesh inside, I suspect Beelzebub will descend through the blood pool too, no?"

Leviathan said, "That might be true, but she’s not the focus. Remember, Devils cannot directly intervene with reality. At most, she’ll find a way for the Beast of the Herd to solve this. The issue isn’t about Beelzebub but the Beast of the Herd."

"The Beast of the Herd, you mean that current-world Calamity outside?" Bologue asked.

"Current-world Calamity is just a term for them, each has its holy name in detail."

"Holy name?" Bologue sneered, showing his disdain without reservation.

"What is your Calamity? And you, Sai Zong, what about yours?"

Bologue questioned them repeatedly, but Leviathan and Sai Zong did not respond. Bologue didn’t bother pursuing it, retreating a few steps to sit against the wall.

The artificial cosmos floated and circulated mid-air; Bologue remembered this scene, as King Solomon ascended the throne beneath this stellar map.

"Damn it..."

Bologue swore under his breath, curling himself into a ball. One dire issue followed another, and his mind could hardly keep up.
