Aimou ascended the dual spiral staircase and discovered it was flowing with liquefied Ether. Reaching the top, she found herself in a space that overlapped the Material and Ethereal Realms, a Gate of Origin concealed by King Solomon. Her wonder turned to alarm when she heard approaching footsteps, and two figures appeared: a scarred man and someone in a diving suit. The scarred man recognized Aimou.

Faced with Leviathan’s greeting, Aimou froze for a second, Leviathan and Sai Zong’s entrance was beyond imagination, even Aimou’s thoughts couldn’t keep up for a moment.

Encountering any living creature other than oneself in this ghostly place would only make one feel an overwhelming sense of fear.

After a brief delay, Aimou vaguely realized something, fear slowly engulfing her. She already knew the answer, yet she couldn’t help but ask again.

"Who... are you?"

"Oh."

Leviathan paused, apologetically saying, "Sorry, this seems to be our first formal meeting."

He straightened up, extended his large hand to Aimou, and introduced himself.

"As you see, I am a Devil, you can call me... Leviathan."

Leviathan said this, then looked at the corpse lying beside him and continued, "As for Bologue, he is my Chosen One."

Eerie words like a cold wind invaded Aimou’s body, and she felt her consciousness begin to blur, her skin tingled with phantom pain as if being stabbed by icy shards, the cold crept along her throat, freezing her lungs.

"What an unprecedented great crisis..."

Aimou murmured in her heart, trying to stay calm. The crises she encountered before were all caused by these despicable Devils, even recalling them now, she still felt fearful of everything she went through.

Now these Devils no longer hid themselves, but appeared openly in front of her.

Terrible, utterly disastrous.

At some point, this operation had spiraled out of control, and no one knew the final outcome.

"Bologue is your Chosen One?" Aimou forced herself to remain calm, "So, you took Bologue’s soul?"

"Hmm? You could understand it that way." Leviathan pretended to be in deep thought.

Aimou kept a steady face, her peripheral vision fell on the sword lying on the ground, calculating how quickly she could grab the sword, and whether she could strike before the Devils reacted.

"I wouldn’t recommend doing that."

Leviathan interrupted Aimou’s wild thoughts, as if seeing through her mind, he continued, "Theoretically, the usual methods can’t kill me, nor the Devils."

Though wearing a golden mask, Aimou was certain that terrifying Devil was smiling at her, not out of courtesy, but merely the Supreme’s mockery of an ant.

"What if I just want to vent my anger?" Since she couldn’t hide it, Aimou straightforwardly bent down and picked up Sharp Sword, openly and honestly.

"Vent your anger? This isn’t a rational decision, blindly swinging your sword at me will change nothing but your emotional release, it could even make things worse."

Leviathan glanced at Sai Zong beside him, "Most Devils aren’t as good-tempered as I am."

"I think I’m just doing what I should," Aimou gripped the sword hilt with both hands, lifting it slowly, "Die as a warrior, holding a sharp sword."

For Aimou who seemed prepared to die, Leviathan suddenly laughed, turning his head as if chatting with a friend, he said to Sai Zong.

"That’s what I love about humans, you never know what kind of answer they’ll give you."

Leviathan couldn’t stop laughing, "That reminded me of my previous meeting with Bologue, he was the same, full of rage, wanting to tear me apart."

Sai Zong remained silent, he didn’t like Leviathan’s humor, or any humor, joke, comedy, such matters, he was always cold yet intensely scorching.

"Bologue was much more agitated back then!"

Leviathan strode over, directly offering his neck under Aimou’s blade. Aimou resolutely swung the sword but found her arm frozen, unable to muster any strength.

"Do you really want to try it?"

Leviathan wasn’t asking, as soon as he spoke, Aimou felt a more powerful force guiding her hands, slashing hard at Leviathan’s neck.

The slash not only cut through the helmet and heavy spacesuit but also released countless swirling black particles, pouring out like a torrent, washing over Aimou’s body.

In an instant, darkness enveloped Aimou’s vision, within this pure darkness, she saw no eerie illusions, only the absolute blackness that reflected no light awaited her.

Black particles dissipated and then surged back.

Aimou indeed severed Leviathan’s head, but before his head could fall, everything restored, the leaking black particles retreated into the body, the ruptured spacesuit healed as if it were a living body, even the shattered golden mask reassembled without a crack, smooth as a mirror.

Leviathan raised his head, pried Aimou’s fingers open, taking the sharp sword, at this moment he appeared extremely gentlemanly, casually asking, "After the slash, how do you feel? Any better?"

Aimou stared blankly ahead, tears faintly seeping from the corners of her eyes.

Leviathan wasn’t concerned for her, he was humiliating her in an arrogant way. Even if she severed his head, smashed him into pieces, she still couldn’t shake him one bit.

But Aimou’s tears didn’t stem from this helplessness, but from the darkness she glimpsed just now.

Within that absolute pitch-black moment, Aimou suddenly had an inexplicable feeling, she sensed an almost eternal silence from within, which seemed to be the end of all life, world, and time.
