The Priest, empowered by chains called the "Contract Object," interrogated captured members of the "Night Race." He learned about the Alchemy Matrix and the existence of powerful Condensers. Suffering from Bloodthirsty Syndrome, the Priest continued his brutal interrogation in a blood-stained cell, seeking answers about the spies and their motive for coming to the town. Despite inflicting extreme pain, the sinner's responses were unsatisfactory, and he taunted the Priest before ultimately being tortured to death. The Priest was left with a new question: "What is the Crimson Rot Sect?"
