Emisarry Of Time And Space Chapter 219 219: Way forward.

Yet, unbeknownst to Falad, Thaddeus presented the most viable option for Orion.
Their actions needed to be swift, as they were under a degree of surveillance, and discovery was not an option.
This necessity was a primary driver for Orion's need to enter the capital. The infiltration team had exerted considerable effort, but their progress was hampered. Despite their strategic maneuvers and information gathering, the intelligence remained insufficient.
The core issue was the inherent risk, a factor Orion found deeply unsettling.
He traversed the space like a phantom ghosting through the night, meticulously concealing his presence and movements. Having successfully analyzed and devised a method to circumvent Thaddeus' Spatial Veil, Orion, though lacking Thaddeus' innate talent, had gleaned valuable insights into concealment techniques. This would form the basis of his future research and development projects.
Approaching the wall, he detected signs of patrols along the perimeter. These were absent during daylight but active under the cover of darkness.
A part of Orion speculated that their surveillance systems might be inactive at night. However, he quickly dismissed this thought, recognizing it as a potential trap designed to lure him into a false sense of security.
Protocol and temporal locus activated in unison, his spatial awareness mapping the surroundings while the complementary skills determined the optimal route to evade detection.
His legs moved with silent swiftness, his boots making no sound upon the ground.
Soon, he sensed a familiar presence approaching from the opposite side of the wall – Thaddeus.
His spatial sense failed to detect Thaddeus, only Temporal Locus registered the presence, indicating Thaddeus was already employing stealth measures.
Following his established dual-skill procedure, Orion skillfully navigated through the patrols before executing a teleportation maneuver, ascending a meter above the wall.
On the other side, Thaddeus, having also perceived Orion's presence while maintaining stealth, mirrored Orion's maneuver, joining him in the air above the wall.
They met suspended in mid-air, extending their arms to grasp each other.
Thaddeus immediately initiated Veil weave, after which they both teleported inside the compound.
Pausing only briefly, Thaddeus took the lead, guiding Orion toward their current temporary refuge.
Orion followed in silence, his gaze absorbing the surroundings of the Sylgrid domain. It was late evening, and the usual clamor had subsided, yet he still observed the individuals present.
He could sense an atmosphere of joy and relaxation.
Orion was certain that the majority of the Sylgrid were oblivious to the impending events, making their apparent cheerfulness somewhat surprising. Perhaps they were simply celebrating an occasion.
Orion's thoughts then turned to those Sylgrid who were aware, having received intelligence from the infiltration team that the underworld was privy to the event and its implications, though the precise nature remained elusive.
However, these details were secondary now; his presence here ensured he would acquire the necessary information, having already conceived several approaches.
A few moments later, they reached the designated hotel. Thaddeus opened the door to their room, and Orion stepped inside. He observed his companions, each occupied with their own activities; some attempted to rest, though their unease was palpable, while others were wide awake, the lines of stress evident on their faces.
His attention settled on Seris, standing beside Jalen, whose eyes were closed in weariness as he continued to sketch. Seris wore a serious expression.
They hadn't yet noticed Orion's arrival, thanks to Thaddeus's concealment. Orion gestured to Thaddeus, who then released the effect, and immediately their gazes locked onto Orion.
"Onion boy!" Arlen's exclamation was expected, immediately drawing a light slap from Selene.
Orion offered a smile. He had much to convey, but immediate priorities took precedence.
"What is the current situation?"
Seris smiled, her eyes finding Orion, a wave of relief washing over her expression.
Despite their meticulous planning, a slim possibility of unforeseen complications remained, a situation that could prove disastrous given their current predicament.
Seris moved closer and detailed all that had transpired since their arrival. Much of this had already been communicated via their communication bracelets, but now she could provide comprehensive details.
By the time she concluded, Orion was seated, a contemplative expression settling on his face.
"Have there been any changes in the past two days?" Orion inquired.
"Aside from the noticeable increase in security patrols around the capital, not much has changed," Erevan responded, leaning against the wall.
"Our primary concern now is whether word of our presence has reached the Emperor," Selene stated.
"We've been monitoring their hideout vigilantly, and so far, there's been no indication, but we cannot afford to be complacent," Erevan added.
"And let's not forget our esteemed Falad; for all we know, he..." Arlen began, reminding them.
"He's certainly plotting something," Orion interjected, his voice low.
"If his notoriety has already established such a pattern, expecting anything different would be foolish," Orion commented with a sigh.
"Furthermore, for an individual who has long evaded peril to be ensnared by a turncoat like Jak defies logic," he concluded.
"So, he led us here to be apprehended?" Thaddeus inquired, raising an eyebrow.
"It must run deeper than that," Erevan stated.
"Such as what?" Arlen questioned.
"That line of thinking is futile; we possess no knowledge of him, and our information is severely limited," Selene corrected.
Arlen let out a dramatic sigh.
CLAP!
Orion clapped his hands to capture their focus.
"We are getting sidetracked, and we cannot afford that. Too much is at risk. We shall address this systematically." Orion declared, his eyes scanning each of them.
They all gave a nod in agreement.
"Excellent, now let's determine our course of action," Orion announced, his attention shifting towards the still-drawing Jalen.
