Previously on Dragon Monarch System...
『Ding! A special variety of Divine Dragon Slaying Poison has been detected by the system.』
『Ding! The poison will course through your body's mana network channels in under 20 seconds.』
『Ding! After 30 seconds, manipulating Mana will become impossible for you.』
『Ding! In 60 seconds, movement will fail, leaving you fully paralyzed.』
『Ding! Death awaits in 200 seconds.』
Aditya drew in a steadying breath, centering his mind solely on the foe ahead. Fretting over impending doom wouldn't salvage the dire circumstances.
Aditya eyed the black dragon, now moving sluggishly, its Aura steadily diminishing like a flickering candle on the verge of extinction.
"This is my moment." Fleeing the battlefield wasn't an option; the black dragon would raze the city below, slaughtering hundreds of thousands of its inhabitants.
With its immense power, the black dragon could obliterate the whole city in under 10 seconds.
"No time to lose!!!"
Dragon Transformation!!!!!!!
In just one second, Aditya's body underwent a dramatic shift.
Lilith halted abruptly upon witnessing this.
The enigmatic man gaped in astonishment, unwilling to blink lest he miss a single detail.
ROARRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!
Instinctively, upon assuming his Divine Crimson Dragon form, the Dragon Monarch unleashed a thunderous roar that rattled both earth and heavens. Such ferocity would have slain any First Order cultivator outright. Luckily, no weaker cultivators lingered nearby.
His mighty roar echoed across the Dragon Palace, prompting hordes of Dragonians and the full Royal Family to surge outward—those able to fly took to the skies, while others rushed to the floating Island's brink to behold the spectacle.
For the first time since attaining Beginner 5th-order, Aditya revealed his dragon form. From afar, Lilith found herself mesmerized by it, thinking he appeared even more striking as a dragon.
Aditya's dragon form spanned over 100 meters (328 feet). Massive, robust crimson dragon wings extended nearly 85 meters (279 feet) each from base to tip, yielding a wingspan of about 170 meters (558 feet) at full extension.
His arms transformed into pristine white dragon claws. Thick crimson red scales sheathed his entire frame. Dark eyes gleamed with crimson red pupils bearing vertical slits. Twin straight horns crowned his head.
His teeth shone white and enormous. Crimson flames danced faintly from his nostrils with each breath. A crimson red tongue flicked out. The tail's tip blazed with crimson fire.
"Witnessing the Dragon Monarch in dragon form is a true privilege." The Captain observed from the city walls—a sight not granted to many.
Yet each transformation by Aditya etched an indelible mark on observers' memories.
Dragon Monarch's Domain!
Without delay, Aditya invoked Dragon Monarch's Domain.
Abruptly, the sky flushed crimson. In moments, dark clouds laced with crimson lightning enveloped a 100 km radius.
"What's going on?" Lilith wondered, baffled.
The shadowy organization member shared her bewilderment, resolving merely to watch and document it later.
At once, crimson lightning erupted from Aditya's form. Hundreds surged forth each second in varied lengths and paths, crackling with lethal force. A single bolt could vaporize a Peak 3rd-order cultivator; even Beginner 4th-order ones would suffer grave injury.
With a deafening roar, Aditya lunged toward the Black Dragon.
The Black Dragon's Aura had dropped to Beginner 6th-order and kept plummeting. Faint cracks, barely perceptible, began spiderwebbing across its body.
A brilliant flash blinded the black dragon before Aditya vanished from sight. Moments later, the Monarch's claw pierced straight through its belly and out the other side.
This strike seemed to shatter the haze over the Black Dragon. Its black pupils sharpened, no longer glazed. On death's doorstep, it apparently shattered Leo's mind control, reclaiming awareness.
"Why am I here?" the Black Dragon muttered, then locked eyes on the equally colossal Crimson Dragon.
In the next instant, recollections of its actions under the organization leader's sway flooded back.
"Aditya!!!" By now, cracks riddled its body visibly—even city wall soldiers could discern the dragon fracturing apart.
Only seconds remained before total disintegration.
"Oh!! You've reclaimed your mind." He glanced at the gut wound and sighed.
Sigh...!!!
"But alas, it's far too late."
The black dragon shook its head. "Soul Flare compels a cultivator to incinerate their entire cultivation for a fleeting surge into a higher order. The organization forced this on me to shatter the barriers."
"Intriguing!!!" Though utterly ruthless.
"Why did Leo dispatch you?" Aditya pressed. Mere seconds remained before he lost Mana channeling forever, rendering him helpless.
"Leo sought to probe the Istarin Empire's defenses. Beyond that, I know nothing."
"The poison within you stems from a few drops of divine blood they mysteriously obtained." These were the black dragon's final words as its body crumbled into tiny fragments, dissolving into microscopic dust before hitting the ground.
Shifting back to human form, Aditya teleported before Lilith. Without a word from her, they both vanished to the Laboratory.
Prior to collapsing, Aditya whisked Julia and Riya from the Dragon Palace to the laboratory.
"Aditya, what's wrong?" Julia's face filled with worry. In an instant, she discerned a potent poison's grip—his body, familiar from her studies, shrugged off ordinary toxins, which needed days to fell him.
"The Black Dragon carried poison forged from drops of divine blood. I fear it's Rin's." Given the organization's ties to the League of Black Tomb, acquiring her blood seemed plausible.
"As the Black Dragon noted, post-20 seconds, Mana refuses to flow through my networks—attempts bring agony and harm my cultivation."
"In 5 more seconds, I'll lose all Mana control."
"35 seconds hence, mobility ends—I'll be paralyzed."
"And in 200 seconds, death claims me."
As his words ended, agony contorted his features. A pained roar nearly escaped; his Mana Channels sealed shut forcibly, torment akin to cultivation's ruin.
Julia, Riya, and Lilith descended into panic.
"Aditya.....!!!" Lilith's eyes reddened.
Riya glanced at Julia, seeing her hands tremble, thoughts in chaos, rationality fled.
"Julia, hesitate no more! Administer the potion blending Dragon Leaf and Nine-Leaf Spirit Orchid."
This snapped her to composure; she sprang into action. Soon, a radiant rainbow-hued potion trickled into his mouth.
Aditya remained conscious yet struggled ever more to budge his limbs.
He lifted his head somehow and swallowed the potion, expecting full recovery—yet its power fell short.
"Why isn't it taking effect?" Lilith snapped irritably, nearly lashing out at Julia.
"It needs at least 10 seconds."
Even after 15 seconds, no change stirred.
Suddenly, Aditya convulsed wildly. The girls gripped him, but his head slumped onto the pillow.
Beyond his poison-tainted purple pupils, no part obeyed his will.
Purple blood trickled from mouth, nose, and ears.
"Julia, the potion fails! Act now!" Lilith bellowed.
Julia and Riya paled deathly. Perplexed, neither grasped the potion's failure.
