Exhausted after six sleepless days upgrading allied cities' barriers and a passionate night with his wives, Aditya sensed a massive attack on Westnia and teleported there instantly. A colossal golden flame wave obliterated the city's defenses, but Aditya countered with a tiny crimson flame orb that triggered a devastating explosion. Joining the soldiers to reinforce the mana barrier, they endured the shockwave, averting total destruction as the black dragon hovered menacingly outside, watched by an organization spy.

"I never thought he'd show up here so soon." The enigmatic figure from the organization, observing from afar, felt immense shock as the Dragon Monarch appeared to rescue the city. Merely a minute had passed since their assault began, and yet the Dragon Monarch had arrived.

His artifact then detected something several kilometers from the city, hovering quietly in the air. Upon closer inspection, he was stunned to realize it was the Dragon Palace.

"How could this be?" Shock overwhelmed him. Indeed, the Dragon Palace had transformed into a floating island somehow, leaving them puzzled about the cause. But how could the whole Dragon Palace teleport merely a few kilometers from the city?

"Was it Aditya's doing?" He quickly dismissed the idea with a shake of his head. It was utterly impossible; even as a beginner Fifth Order cultivator, he lacked sufficient Mana for such a vast long-distance teleportation of an enormous island.

"I have no idea how they pulled it off, but I'll report it to Leo anyway." This became yet another factor they needed to monitor closely.

Aditya gradually approached the black dragon. Already warned about the Dragon Monarch, the black dragon fixed its gaze silently on Aditya.

Without mind control, it would have bowed to the Monarch of all Dragons by now. Dragons possess tremendous pride, rarely bending their heads or accepting any master.

However, facing the Dragon Monarch, their draconic essence compels instinctive submission. For dragons, no greater joy or higher honor exists than battling for the Dragon Monarch. Dying in his service is deemed the ultimate honor a dragon can achieve.

"A black dragon?" Aditya sensed familiarity with this black dragon from somewhere. Had he encountered such a colossal beast before, he would have recalled it instantly.

"I recall it now." In his youthful, innocent days, Alfred would gather him close and share tales from history.

During one stormy afternoon, Alfred recounted the legend of a shadowy black dragon from the east, seeking to forge its empire at the Celestial Dragon Empire's border.

Regrettably for that black dragon, every power in the area united against it, conspiring to end its life. Alfred's tale concluded with the Black Dragon fleeing to another part of the main continent, though it was quite possible it perished during the escape.

Aditya remembered the story vividly because Alfred had displayed a portrait of the Black Dragon's immense form. The most notable feature was the claw scar slashing across its right chest, inflicted by the Celestial Dragon Empire's Emperor then—Aditya's own grandfather.

"If memory serves, your name is Levi." The black dragon remained silent. Instead, it bellowed furiously and unleashed another wave of golden flames at him. This strike came even faster than the previous one.

Aditya didn't bother evading, for as a crimson dragon, he enjoyed partial resistance to fire attacks.

The golden flames swallowed him entirely.

At this sight, the soldiers atop the walls grew anxious.

Yet in the following instant, Aditya burst through the golden flames. They dispersed wildly in every direction before vanishing completely. Aditya emerged wreathed in crimson flames.

Crimson flames danced around his form, giving the illusion he burned inside them—but nothing could be further from the truth.

With the Dragon Palace brought along by Aditya, merely remaining in its vicinity granted him a 45% surge in base stats. Moreover, his healing and mana recovery rates soared by 85%. Even without mana recovery pills, his mana regenerated swiftly.

Nevertheless, upholding the city's full defensive Mana barrier had drained nearly 90% of his total mana. Thus, he realized he couldn't afford mana-heavy attacks that dealt minimal damage in this battle.

"I see you're not in the talking mood." Aditya strongly suspected the organization dispatched this dragon. As Dragon Monarch, all dragons instinctively yielded to him, yet this Black Dragon defied that, pointing to mind control by the organization.

"But why go to such lengths?" Though the Black Dragon had breached restrictions, its strength capped at Mid 6th-order. Since advancing to Beginner 5th-order, Aditya felt assured handling the Black Dragon's level.

To him, deploying a mighty entity where its power was curtailed made little sense.

The Black Dragon ignored all else. Its mind, dominated by control, burned only with urges for devastation and turmoil.

Fueled by murderous intent, it lunged at Aditya. The Dragon Monarch kept his distance, teleporting unpredictably to force the black dragon into constant pursuit and redirection.

Meanwhile, unable to spot Aditya, Lilith ventured from the floating island. As she soared outward, she observed the landscape below had shifted dramatically.

"I'm certain this is Westnia territory." Her extensive travels allowed her to pinpoint the continent from the terrain.

"Did Aditya manage this?" Amazement struck her at the floating island's teleportation over such vast distances.

Lilith spotted a colossal Black Dragon clashing with her husband above a city.

"That explains his abrupt departure." Panic evaded her. She trusted him completely; defeating the Black Dragon was merely a question of time.

"It's alright!"

"You're a being long dead for over 10,000 years. Time to return where you belong." Given the atrocities the black dragon committed in its heyday before vanishing, Aditya felt no pity in slaying it.

Even absent mind control, Aditya wouldn't enlist the Black Dragon. At best, he'd spare it and banish it from his domains.

Abruptly, rather than teleporting elsewhere to evade pursuit, he appeared directly above the black dragon's left eye.

His claw targeted the eye precisely. Yet an unseen force immobilized him utterly. Despite his efforts, he couldn't advance even slightly toward the eye.

Gazing downward, he saw black shadow tentacles coiling around his legs, creeping up to his waist, pinning him motionless.

"Shadow manipulation?" Indeed, shadow manipulation held him. Aditya recognized it from Nathan's similar feats.

Before he could counter, the Black Dragon's claw smashed him violently toward the Dragon Palace.

The black dragon's enormous claw tore gaping, profound gashes across his chest and shoulders.

"It hurts!" Aditya rued underestimating the black dragon. Not a total misjudgment, but the unexpected shadow manipulation locking him in place left him vulnerable, allowing the strike.

『Ding! The system has detected a special kind of Divine Dragon Slaying Poison.』

『Ding! Within 20 seconds, the poison will spread through the mana network channels that run all over your body.』

『Ding! In 30 seconds, you will lose the ability to manipulate Mana.』

『Ding! In 60 seconds, you will lose the ability to move. You will be paralysed.』

『Ding! In 200 seconds, you will die.』

The barrage of system alerts left Aditya utterly stunned.

Shock and incredulity gripped him. He examined his wounds closely. The blood oozing out wasn't golden but dark purple, confirming the poisoning.

"Aditya.....!!!!"

Witnessing Aditya's brutal hit, Lilith's face drained of color, her hands trembling violently.

Flung near the Dragon Palace, he drew her swift flight to his side.

Yet Aditya ignored her approach, eyes locked on the Black Dragon.
