Fisher and Emhardt discuss the "Cardinal Completions Manual" potentially being in the Spirit Realm with Mikhail and Michael, who may still be alive. Meanwhile, Fisher, Philis, and Balzac are transported by a Cardinal vehicle to the Wutong Tree, where they are greeted by an elder and other familiar faces.

"And there’s Mr. Fisher..."

"Clan Chief Dal."

Indeed, it was the Clan Leader of the Snow Fox Species, Dal.

Upon seeing the Cardinal of Destiny following behind Fisher, his expression slightly changed. He quickly stepped forward and softly spoke to him,

"Well, Mr. Fisher, why have you brought another woman? Earlier, your matter with the Sardinian Female Country Captain already troubled us greatly, and previously in Nali, Miss Valentina went out secretly looking for you but returned empty-handed. She was very upset. Now you’ve brought back a child. Could it be..."

"...she’s just my friend, and Alicia is merely my teacher’s granddaughter—nothing more."

Fisher could only helplessly explain to Clan Chief Dal once again.

His previous actions indeed easily led to such misunderstandings, but now he had truly turned over a new leaf; really, he had changed.

"...That would undoubtedly be best."

Dal’s nose slightly twitched. After smelling "honesty" on Fisher, he finally relaxed.

He breathed a sigh of relief and said to Fisher,

"The Cardinal has informed Miss Valentina of your arrival. She wants to see you. Let me arrange for your friends here, and we can discuss other matters later."

"Alright, thank you... Alicia, follow this Snow Fox grandpa for now; Miss Ashley will take care of you for the moment, I’ll be back shortly."

"Okay."

Fisher nodded his head and gently set Alicia down, while also handing over Emhardt to her.

He initially wanted to turn and say goodbye to the Cardinal of Destiny, but she nodded slightly, as if she already knew, like she was prescient. However, seeing the faint smile on her face, Fisher felt there was a hint of mischief in it.

Following this, he took a deep breath and turned to accompany the two Grey Bird Species who had brought Dal out. Together, they entered the inside of the Wutong Tree ahead.

In contrast to his previous visit, the place had transformed from a dead silent darkness to a brightly lit area, with occasional conversation sounds emerging from some corners of the spacious room.

The Grey Bird Species seemed aware of his capability; instead of leisurely guiding him on foot, they spread their wings and flew briskly toward a certain direction, leaving Fisher to follow them at a relaxed pace.

"Here we are, please proceed."

Soon, Fisher realized they had brought him to the hall where the base had previously been located.

At that moment, the door slowly opened, revealing the exceedingly wide space inside.

At the end of the hall, before the enormous throne, lay a gigantic round table, indicating this was where the leadership of the Wutong Tree made their decisions.

Fisher slowly stepped into the room, the large door behind him gradually closing. His gaze steadily lifted to focus on the silhouette before the majestic throne.

The figure had long white hair, with the ends hinting at enormous turquoise wings yet to fully unfold; they sketched the legendary Phoenix, guardian of the Wutong.

"Valentina..."

Her back was turned to Fisher; her statue-like body slightly trembled when Fisher called to her. Then, she turned her head around.

The sight before him was her stunning face; her skin as white as snow showed a slightly adjusted demeanor. She was supposed to calmly inquire about Fisher’s visit, deducing a change must have occurred during his brief stay in Nali. Perhaps she intended to question him such.

But the next second, her carefully adjusted expression suddenly gave way.

She suddenly recalled how Fisher let go of her hand then, determined to return and find Elizabeth.

At the mere remembrance, the hidden emotions spread like a virus.

So, when she turned her head, her previously dignified face crumbled instantly. Her pink lips pouted, and her small face collapsed, looking both aggrieved and reproachful as Fisher entered the room.

Her mouth opened, seemingly wanting to ask, "Why have you returned?" Yet she deemed it unsuitable; her pout hesitated endlessly without uttering a word, resembling rather a cute goldfish blowing bubbles.

Perhaps she meant, "Have you repented?"?

Fisher couldn’t tell, for now, he had already reached in front of Valentina, noticing her angrily staring at him caused even his breathing to quicken.

Though she was reluctant to harshly scold Fisher, struggling endlessly, she actually resorted to raising her pink fist to gently strike Fisher’s shoulder and chest.

The more she hit, the higher her pouted lips raised, and her eyes grew increasingly red.

"Thump... thump..."

But as she prepared to silently strike Fisher for the third time, he suddenly took a step forward, in her stunned gaze, and tightly pulled her into his embrace.

This hug might be unprecedented for Valentina. She merely found this embrace so tight that it felt like she was being enveloped fully.

He hugged her tightly, his head buried in her long white hair, nestled against her neck, leaving Valentina with a dazed expression, forgetting even her previous pout.

Her wings fluttered twice behind her, only now did she barely remember not reverting to her original form.

It left her somewhat panicked, but as Fisher hugged tighter, it seemed he wasn’t offended by her true form either?

Thinking so, the earlier resentment and grievance turned into a tangled mess within the hug. At this moment, Fisher’s deep voice echoed like a resonant bell beside her ear,

"Valentina..."

"Yes, Fisher, you..."

Valentina pressed her lips together, as if sensing some emotion hidden within him at this moment. She blinked, ready to inquire, but both she and Fisher abruptly heard rapid footsteps approaching from outside the door.

"Bang!"

As Valentina pondered in confusion, the heavy door suddenly swung open, revealing Alagina with her panting breath after hurriedly rushing over,

"Fisher, you’ve arrived..."

Her instinctive words were faster than her gaze at the scene; but as her eyes registered, her speech abruptly lodged in her throat.

Valentina blinked and instinctively clung tighter to Fisher, while Fisher, slightly dumbfounded, turned toward the door, where the stupefied Alagina had already transformed into a statue.

Did I... arrive at an inconvenient time?

Alagina thought, frozen in place.
