Elizabeth interrupts her intimate moment with Fisher to take a call from her attendant. The attendant reminds her of an upcoming meeting with the vice president of the World Magic Association, forcing Elizabeth to postpone their encounter.

"It’s Dianne, my inner court official, she arranges all affairs in the Golden Palace... and your stubble here really needs shaving, it’s so prickly to the touch."

With that, she caressed Fisher’s hand, slowly moving up from his lips, until she pushed away the blindfold that had been sealing his eyes, revealing the pair of black pupils beneath that had long since opened.

Darkness just waking, what entered his vision first was Elizabeth Gedelin, her golden hair slightly disheveled, still young and beautiful. The court robes on her body had also been half scattered by the earlier madness, revealing the complex inner layers beneath.

"Elizabeth..."

Their gazes had met for less than a second before she lowered her head, unable to resist, and kissed Fisher’s eyes, making him let out a speechless sigh. Of all the Ladies he’d known, it seemed this greedy one was still only Elizabeth.

Though perhaps here it didn’t count as a pejorative. Back when Fisher was eighteen, nineteen, no matter how inexperienced he was, his longing for his lover had never been something he could suppress. Just standing side by side, he had to secretly hold her hand, had to reach out to touch her hair and her skin...

It was clearly meaningless, his thoughts hadn’t even formed in his mind, yet his body simply liked to act that way.

Now, more than ten years had passed. Their feelings had twisted and tangled in all sorts of ways, yet in the end they had returned to the most immature, youngest, and most ardent state.

"It’s not so bad to save the main course for tonight, right? Before that, let’s get everything ready. You’re not getting away..."

"..."

So scary.

Elizabeth gave him a long, deep look, then got off of him, spiritedly tearing off the messy clothes on her body. She didn’t feel embarrassed at all, instead seeming especially bold, revealing the full set of underwear she wore underneath.

At the same time, the shackles binding Fisher’s four limbs vanished in an instant, restoring his freedom.

This actually surprised Fisher a bit. He had thought, given Elizabeth’s temperament, she would definitely keep him locked up twenty-four hours a day so he wouldn’t run off. He had even prepared his arguments to persuade her to let him go, only to find she had done so directly.

Fisher sat up and rubbed his wrists. When he turned his head, he saw her at a locked wardrobe in the corner of the large bedroom. She opened it with a key, revealing neatly arranged items inside—mostly shirts and trousers tailored to Fisher’s measurements, and below them quite a few piled-up bottles and jars.

Fisher didn’t recognize what those bottles and jars were, but Elizabeth had already taken out a set of clothes and draped them over her arm, then grabbed a small bottle and a box of blades from the bottom.

"Here, Fisher, drink this. Be good."

Elizabeth set the clothes in front of him and handed him the little bottle, prompting him to ask in puzzlement,

"What is this?"

Elizabeth’s face flushed slightly. She touched her own cheek with a hand and explained,

"It’s a fine tonic. Once you drink it, it’ll increase the chances of pregnancy, you know. I’ve stocked up a lot. From now on you’ll have to drink it after every meal~"

"Huh?"

"Hurry and drink it, and I’ll have Dianne send breakfast over for you..."

"..."

Fisher felt he really didn’t need it. Elizabeth had yet to actually enjoy him, so she naturally had no idea just how fierce he could be. But faced with the expectation in her eyes, Fisher couldn’t bring himself to refuse. He could only reach out and accept it, while Elizabeth turned away with a squinting smile to prepare the razor blades for his shave.

With her back to Fisher, she went to stand before the dressing table, shook the metal blades out of the box, and hummed a tune as she opened a still-unopened razor beside her to load the blades into it.

Obviously, all these things for living together with Fisher had been prepared long before his arrival. She might have been waiting for this moment for a very long time.

In fact, before he came back he had already predicted it: even if Elizabeth caught him, she wouldn’t do anything terrible to him. Her demand had always been to keep Fisher at her side, which was why he’d dared to stay.

Their tacit understanding was like something left over from when they were eighteen, never fully dispersed. The two of them still had indescribable feelings and regrets for each other.

Only, now that he was truly seeing this scene, Fisher’s mood was still rather complicated.

Back then, what he’d told his mother-in-law Yaril hadn’t been a lie. If not for the Demi-human Girls Completion Manual, if he really hadn’t been so greedy, he might truly have come back and spent his whole life together with Elizabeth.

"It’s still kind of hard to imagine—the Empress of Nali doing this kind of thing for me."

Elizabeth had finished assembling the razor. Through the mirror before her, her golden eyes fell on Fisher behind her. She put the remaining blades away one by one, then pressed a button on the dressing table that relayed commands to the Inner Court maids, and softly said,

"Did I stop being Elizabeth after I became the Empress of Nali?"

Fisher froze slightly, and in front of him Elizabeth turned around and walked toward him.

"It’s because I am Elizabeth that I became Empress; not because I am Empress that I am Elizabeth... Come on, put your clothes on."

"Then why did you take my clothes off in the first place?"

Elizabeth smiled faintly, lifting the razor in one hand. With the other, she gently pinched Fisher’s chin, then knelt onto the bed beside him.
