Days as a Spiritual Mentor in American Comics Chapter 6082 - 5096: The Fighter’s Fate (42)

But we have to admit, this method is quite viable and has a high probability of success. Iron Man pondered for a moment and asked, "But what about the Assassin’s Union? They will definitely cause trouble. And then there’s the Sentinel Robot..."
The internal conflicts on this side have indeed been resolved, but what about the opposition? Even if the internal conflicts were resolved well, external conflicts could disrupt the relatively peaceful situation.
"You don’t have to worry about that." Shiller said impatiently, "Just take care of yourself, there are other ways for the rest."
"What ways?" Iron Man wasn’t really trying to manage; he just wanted to know.
Generally, if someone asked, Shiller would surely explain, especially to an ally. Shiller’s reluctance was mainly due to his impatience to explain to Iron Man; it truly was difficult to make clear.
"Alright." Iron Man pursed his lips and said, "Then is there nothing else you want to say?"
Shiller stood up to leave, but suddenly remembered something and said, "You know the original righteous you went to the future, right?"
Iron Man nodded; the two of them had swapped places.
"Since now without him, and the future without you, you both are still the same person, so you might suddenly become him one day," Shiller gave him a heads-up, "Of course, you are essentially the same person, so it is more likely to merge into one."
Iron Man was stunned. He jumped up and shouted, "Such important information, and you just mention it now?!!"
"Is it important?" Shiller asked, "Now you will know both mechanical engineering and chemistry and biology techniques, isn’t that a good thing?"
"But... but..." Iron Man seemed a bit disoriented, not quite understanding what was going on, "But my personality is different from his, we aren’t the same person..."
"That’s alright," Shiller said, "Consider it a double occupancy room."
Iron Man glared at him, and Shiller spread his hands, "Don’t look at me, I live in a room with over two thousand people. Besides, don’t you dislike Brainiac? Find your consciousness backup, he is Electronic Life, perfect to deal with Brainiac. A triple occupancy room isn’t cramped."
With that, Shiller left, leaving Iron Man stunned on the spot. Shiller’s words were somewhat beyond his understanding, sounding like gibberish.
"Why hasn’t the Assassin’s Union made any moves?" Nick asked, "Have you found anything during your recent patrols?"
The members of the Rebirth Alliance looked at each other. Captain America frowned and said, "No. Strangely, even ninjas are barely seen nowadays. Have they gone into hiding?"
"I think the last failed warehouse raid caused them too much loss, and they’re afraid to come back," Hal said.
"That’s not right." Clark thought for a moment and said, "Didn’t we arrest an important figure? Why haven’t they come to demand for people?"
"What kind of bandit would dare go to the police for people?"
"Then what kind of bandit would dare to raid the police station warehouse?"
There’s some truth in this; the Assassin’s Union has been so audacious, and there’s no reason for them not to react at all when Talya is captured. Forget attacking the Recovery Alliance Headquarters, at least they should have done something to negotiate for leverage?
"Don’t lower your guard," Nick said, "If they are not causing small disturbances, they might be planning something big. They must have something crucial to confidently exchange Talya back."
"Something crucial?" Captain America frowned.
Nick seemed thoughtful, as if he already had an answer in mind. He said, "Don’t ease up on the patrols. Notify me immediately if a large number of ninjas gather. By the way, where is Thor?"
"He left the Nine Major Kingdoms, seems like he’s gone to find Loki," Natasha said with her arms crossed.
Nick didn’t show any dissatisfaction. He remained enigmatic. After everyone else left, Natasha said, "With ample evidence and witnesses, it’s clear the Mutant attack was orchestrated by the Court of Owls. Iron Man likely won’t be able to go to court."
"This proves there is another force attempting to shift the situation," Nick said, "and they’ve laid the groundwork earlier than we did."
"What do you mean?"
"The batch of chemicals appearing in the warehouse is quite suspicious," Nick said, lowering his lashes, "If it’s meant for chaos, then after injecting those Mutants, they should’ve hidden the rest immediately to catch us off guard. If it’s for smuggling, it shouldn’t have appeared in the hospital."
Natasha also realized that the flow of this batch of chemicals was quite peculiar, appearing in both the hospital and docks, without any logical reason.
If it’s for a terror attack, then to cause a big scene, they should fully inject the remainder, truly causing a siege of the living dead. For smuggling, they should’ve kept it low-profile, as if no one knew about this batch of chemicals, secretly transporting it away, quietly without making a fuss.
Yet the owner of this batch seemed to be smuggling amidst gunfire, setting off fireworks in the city while secretly transporting the goods to the docks like they were going to ship them out, which doesn’t add up at all.
If the motives conflict, it proves that neither of these motives is genuine. If it’s neither terror attack nor smuggling, the true motive becomes quite intriguing.
"What did Eddie say exactly?" Nick asked, "Did he just mention that another component was similar to that in Bane-type Sentinel canisters?"
Natasha nodded, "But he didn’t delve into reasons, clearly just trying to get Iron Man out. After all, he’s a journalist, and if he wanted to fabricate, he could make up something more cohesive."
"I watched the battle recording against the Bane-type Sentinel; these robots’ attack patterns differ vastly from those Mutants, clearly showing rationality, meaning the liquid in those canisters likely does not induce madness or destroy sanity."
"Yes, but there’s no evidence," Natasha said, "Currently, both samples have only been in contact with Venom, so it’s whatever he claims. Even in court, Iron Man could argue this."
"What I mean is, if it’s not the canister’s components, then those components could likely point to the real culprit."
"If Venom encounters it, he should be able to detect it," Natasha said, "But there’s no guarantee the bearer is the real culprit, it could also be a setup."
"We can’t rely on luck," Nick said, "How are the Mutants doing?"
"No issues anymore." Natasha said puzzledly, "They looked terrifying before but after a bout of frenzied attack, they’re fine again. Hospital checks found only traces of the Extremis Virus in their blood. We didn’t disclose the results, outwardly claiming everything’s fine."
"This proves the other behind-the-scenes force isn’t a Super Villain," Nick’s thoughts were clear, "If they had died, it might indeed be an organization like the Court of Owls. But their recovery proves the person behind isn’t ruthlessly malicious."
"Isn’t that a good thing?"
"It could also mean their intentions are far more ambitious."
