The group embarks on a deep-sea fishing trip. While most are unfamiliar with the activity, they are equipped with specialized gear. After a period of no catches, Sif hooks a large fish, which proves to be surprisingly strong and aggressive. The creature then leaps onto the deck, causing chaos and revealing itself to be a formidable, unusually large bass that attacks the unprepared anglers.

This seabass is not only long in length, but also significantly larger in both width and thickness than its kind. Without such strong waist muscles, it wouldn’t be able to leap onto the boat in this way and continue thrashing. Moreover, its color is somewhat different from other seabass, with lighter patterns and a layer of silvery-white membrane covering its body, which sparkles under the light, making it quite attractive.

The most concerning thing for Thor is the fish’s red eyes, which appear quite abnormal. Additionally, its fins are much longer than those of other fish, and they seem to have some spikes. Thor is indeed hesitant to let Sif get close, in case this thing is a mutant biochemical weapon, which could be a big problem if pricked.

The Aesir have good constitutions, but they are not immune to all poisons. Although guarded by divine power and typically impervious to ordinary threats, fish raised by humans might pose some danger.

Thor actually has a better understanding of human capabilities than the people of this universe. Although he hasn’t brought the Fairy Palace to Earth, back in their world, Earth has descended upon the Fairy Palace.

This development shocked everyone. Practically no one from Marvel expected to fish out such a creature from the sea. To put it bluntly, even a four or five-meter blue marlin wouldn’t be able to leap onto a yacht. This is a yacht, not a small dinghy. To get slapped by a fish on a yacht, does that make any sense?

Diana had thought to intervene, but unlike Captain America, she couldn’t throw Captain America’s shield in that boomerang style that not only strikes the opponent but also returns on its path. So when the shield hit the fish, it just fell into the water. Diana took out the Lasso of Truth but hesitated.

A fish doesn’t have limbs, so even if you tie a rope around it, wouldn’t it still thrash about? You can’t exactly expect the Lasso of Truth to bind the fish and suddenly have it utter some Russian and get shot on the spot, right?

Moreover, while the fish thrashed, people scattered. If the Lasso of Truth tied the wrong target, that would be quite embarrassing. After thinking for a while, Diana decided to use her fists.

She flew over and punched the fish in the stomach. The fish jerked violently and then lay motionless on the deck. Diana sighed in relief, having to control her strength to avoid capsizing the yacht. If not for her rich experience, they might have had to spend the night in the Atlantic.

"Bravo, ma’am!" Thor was the first to shout, "Father of All Gods... I mean, Zeus bless you!"

Diana nearly fell out of the air: "That’s really not necessary."

Seeing the fish was motionless, Peter felt a bit eager to take a closer look. He really had never seen a seabass this big, a fish taller than a person, he’d only seen live ones in oceanariums or museums, never live before.

He had just taken a step forward when Shiller grabbed him. Sure enough, Eddie was even faster than him. Don’t forget what Eddie Brock does for a living; he’s a journalist, and such incidents instantly trigger his professional instincts. Just seconds ago, he was slapped by the fish, and now he rushed ahead of everyone to the fish.

Then he got slapped again.

"Oh, crap!" he cursed, "Mask!!!"

With a swish, Venom appeared, raising two arms, grabbing the fish’s tail, about to take a bite.

"Wait!!" Carter hurried over, "Don’t touch it! No, no, no! Stop eating!! Let go, let go!!!"

At this point, Thor rushed forward, directly pulling Venom back. Venom wouldn’t let go, and since the fish wasn’t dead and got bitten, it whipped its tail, hitting Carter.

Shiller quickly went forward to support Carter, only for the fish to swing its tail again. Fortunately, Shiller was experienced and dodged with a step back, or else he would have been on the pilot house’s windshield.

The blame is that there’s only one true Gothamite here; the others may be from DC, but they underestimated Gotham’s fish, allowing this fish to act up for so long. If there were a Batman, the moment it got hooked, he would have thrown a Batman dart to cut the line. Old Gothamites could tell they had hooked something profoundly troublesome the moment the rod dipped.

Quickly helping Carter stand up. Carter was also getting agitated; her mood was already bad these days, and everything had gone wrong with the tour she arranged, and now a fish slapped her. She pulled out a gun and bang-bang shot twice.

Since she was aiming directly at the fish’s mouth, those two shots likely hit the brain directly. The fish twitched slightly, then quickly stopped moving.

Carter breathed a sigh of relief, telling them all to keep their distance, and said: "I need to take this fish back to examine it, in case there really is some issue. Don’t want you guys getting into trouble. Step aside, I’ll call someone over."

"Can’t you at least leave me a tail?" Venom wagged its tongue, "I just had a bite, and it tasted so good, much fresher than the fish we had at lunch..."

Then he wobbled, as Eddie was visibly wrestling for control. After a moment, Eddie finally returned, panting heavily, whispering through gritted teeth, "Can you stop acting like such a hick?"

Then he stood with his hands on his hips, twisting his body and smiling at Carter: "Don’t mind me, ma’am, you know parasites tend to favor seafood..."

"Who are you calling a parasite?! Apologize!!!"

This night fishing trip was truly thrilling. After this incident, no one dared to fish anymore. Sure, fishing is all about the big catch, and catching a fish over two meters long is quite impressive, but getting slapped by a fish? Well, that’s a whole different story.

However, even if not fishing, there are still plenty of things to do on the yacht. Carter had prepared a lavish spread of gourmet food on the yacht, though since everyone had a full meal at noon, most of it consisted of cold dishes like smoked fish and smoked meat— a specialty in New York.

The buffet table was laden with croissants and French puff pastries. Shiller picked up a croissant and immediately knew the pastry chef was skilled. The croissant’s exterior was slightly firm, yet it felt light in his hand, indicating it had puffed up well, and the bottom was evenly colored, cooked to perfection.

After slicing the croissant open, Shiller looked for cheese and was pleasantly surprised to find Colby-Jack cheese in yellow and white swirls. Of course, this cheese had nothing to do with Jack; the full name is Colby Jack cheese, a combination of Colby cheese and Monterey Jack cheese.

This cheese is actually the best for sandwiches because it melts at just the right speed. Unlike some hard cheeses that remain hard forever and overly salty, or mozzarella which melts too quickly and drips everywhere— and sometimes, being overly stretchy can be a hassle, since sandwich-eating occasions are generally not ideal for long cheese strings.

This cheese slowly melts under the influence of temperature, and even after melting, it retains a certain hardness, allowing the cheese aroma to be released without affecting consumption.

After placing two slices of Jack cheese, Shiller went for the ham. He selected two slices of Italian ham, judging by the color, it was Parma ham. Italian ham is lighter in taste than Spanish ham, and because it is cured for a shorter time, it is moister and more suitable for sandwiches, while Spanish ham is better enjoyed alone or with drinks.

Having grabbed two slices of ham, Shiller initially planned to skip the seafood, but then he remembered Peter’s comment about salmon at lunch and headed to the seafood section. There he discovered sashimi, offering the most direct view of the salmon’s growth condition. As expected, the deep-sea fatty salmon looked just like those in the cartoons, with orange and white sections almost in equal proportion.

But Shiller bypassed the sashimi and looked at the herb salmon salad behind it. It contained both salmon and dressing, saving him the trouble of adding sauce. So he scooped up some salad and poured it over the folded ham.

Shiller returned to his seat with his croissant and noticed that others were eating differently. They would take a plate, scoop everything into one serving, and treat croissants and similar bread as the main dish, slicing it together with other items.

However, there was nothing wrong with that, or rather that might be how a buffet should be eaten. But Shiller preferred assembling his own sandwich. He picked up his croissant and was about to take a bite when he noticed a black thread-like line stretching across his dining table.

Turning his head, Shiller saw Eddie sitting next to him, using a table knife to spread the soft part of Brie cheese onto bread. Clearly, he cared about appearances, but Venom evidently did not.

"Hey, I want to eat that," Venom said to him.

Eddie turned his head, first spotting the croissant in Shiller’s hand, and then recognizing Shiller’s face. He gave an apologetic smile and led Venom away.

Before long, Shiller saw Eddie at the buffet cutting a croissant, presumably assembling a sandwich for Venom.

Alcohol was still not allowed on the yacht, with Carter’s prior explanation being that they were afraid someone might dive into the sea after drinking too much. But now this restriction seemed somewhat redundant, as after a fierce struggle akin to The Old Man and The Sea, no one would jump into the sea regardless of how much they drank; the deterrent effect was immediate.

"After these few meals, I’m feeling..." Thor let out a sigh and sat in front of Shiller.

"What’s wrong, not satisfied?" Shiller asked. He believed neither Thor nor Sif would directly express any dissatisfaction to Carter. They were the true guests, not only from another multiverse but also from a different planet, and couldn’t be too critical of Earth’s cuisine; otherwise, they’d come off as fussy and ungrateful guests.

Thor spoke quietly, "The flavors are actually nice, but isn’t the portion a bit small? Just this ham alone, I could gnaw on a whole hind leg by myself."

Shiller was a bit exasperated, "In this kind of setting, do you genuinely want to munch on a whole pig’s leg?"

"Not exactly, I just don’t know how much is appropriate to eat," Thor said, stretching his neck to glance at Sif in front of the buffet. Sif turned around, and Thor, smiling like a golden retriever, signaled for her to take her time selecting.

Thor turned back and said, "For instance, those king crabs, I could eat ten or eight of them myself. I wanted to grab a crab leg, but Sif worries I might eat too much, leaving nothing for the rest of you."

"Didn’t you have this problem on Earth before?" Shiller asked.

"When I was on Earth before, either I was playing by myself and could eat as much as I wanted; or it was business meetings, where you can’t really eat— you eat a bite and then have to talk for ages, and it’s not really about the food. This is actually the first time I’m invited by strangers to eat, play, and have fun, and it’s not with acquaintances, so I’m hesitant to order anything."

Shiller chuckled, even after becoming the Divine King, Thor still held back when it came to strangers. But during his previous visits to Marvel, he became acquainted with many people from the Marvel side, and they were quite familiar. In front of familiar faces, Thor still maintained his straightforward and candid personality.
