Su Qinglan enlists the fifteen spiritual plant brothers to help manage her expanded vegetable garden, granting them a boost of spiritual energy. She then heads to the eastern gate to meet with the waiting sub-beastmen. Su Qinglan offers twenty-two of them work, assigning them tasks in the garden and promising generous compensation in the form of prey animals and vegetables.

Su Qinglan looked at them and asked, "Would you be willing to help prepare and sell cooked food outside the eastern gate?"

The expressions of the remaining sub-beastmen changed immediately.

Cook food?

They looked at one another in dismay.

They had heard that Su Qinglan’s cooked food was extremely delicious. They had also heard that many beastmen had tried learning how to cook after tasting it.

Unfortunately, most of those attempts had ended in disaster.

Some had burned their food. Others had ruined their ingredients. A few had even managed to turn perfectly good meat into something so hard that no one could bite through it.

Cooking was a precious skill.

Who would teach it to them?

They were already fortunate that Su Qinglan was willing to give them work. If they couldn’t cook properly, wouldn’t she become disappointed and send them away?

Seeing their gloomy expressions, Su Qinglan understood their concerns.

She didn’t immediately comfort them. Instead, she turned around and started walking toward the eastern gate.

"Come with me first. You’ll understand when we arrive."

The sub-beastmen hurriedly followed.

As for the elderly and children, Su Qinglan didn’t assign them any work. Most of the adult sub-beastmen had already agreed to share their food with their older relatives and children. That arrangement was enough for now.

She also told the remaining sub-beastmen, "I still have some matters to attend to today, and tomorrow I’ll be leaving for Fox Beast City. When I return, I’ll arrange more suitable work for those who haven’t received an assignment. Don’t worry. As long as you’re willing to work, I’ll do my best to find something you can do."

The elderly sub-beastmen looked at her with gratitude.

"Thank you, Female Qinglan."

Some of them lowered their heads, their eyes turning red.

They had lived for so many years without anyone caring whether they had enough food to eat. Yet this young female had taken the trouble to arrange work for them.

They didn’t know how to repay her kindness.

Su Qinglan, however, was already thinking about the next task. There was still a cooking business to organize. And judging by the crowd waiting outside the eastern gate, she had a feeling that this business would become even more profitable.

When Su Qinglan arrived at the eastern gate, the scene before her was as lively as ever.

A long line of beastmen stretched into the distance.

Some had arrived early in the morning, hoping to buy food before returning to hunt. Others had come with their families, eager to taste the delicious dishes they had heard so much about.

The smell of meat soup and freshly cooked rice drifted through the air.

Beside a large cooking pot, Hu Yan and Han Jue were busy preparing food.

Hu Yan was stirring the thick meat soup while Han Jue watched the rice and checked the other ingredients.

Both men worked efficiently. Their movements were so practiced that they barely needed to speak to understand what the other was doing.

Su Qinglan watched them for a moment.

Originally, she had only planned to teach a few basic cooking methods and sell some of her vegetables. She hadn’t expected the cooking stall to become so popular.

Now, however, she has changed her mind.

If the business was this profitable, why should she give up on it?

She could sell cooked food every day, earn more resources for the family, and gradually teach others to cook. Once the business became stable, she could even expand it.

Of course, she wasn’t planning to stand beside a cooking pot all day herself.

She had people or that!

Su Qinglan walked toward the stall and climbed onto a slightly raised spot so that the people in the line could see her.

"Everyone, listen up!"

Her voice rang across the eastern gate.

The crowd quieted down and turned toward her.

Su Qinglan took a deep breath before announcing, "Starting today, the cooking stall will remain open regularly. However, the menu for the next two weeks will stay the same. We’ll be selling meat soup, porridge, and white-grain rice."

For a moment, the crowd fell silent.

Then the complaints began.

"What? Only those three dishes?"

"Where are the dumplings? I came here specifically to eat dumplings!"

"I was waiting for the other dishes! Didn’t you say you would teach people how to make them?"

"Female Qinglan, can’t you add a few more dishes? I don’t mind paying extra!"

Su Qinglan listened to the complaints with a calm expression.

She had expected this reaction. After all, some beastmen had already tasted the dumplings and other dishes she had prepared. Once they had experienced those delicious flavors, ordinary food could no longer satisfy them so easily.

But she had her own plans.

She raised her voice again. "If you don’t like the menu, you don’t have to buy anything. Unfortunately, if everyone keeps complaining, I’ll simply close the stall!"

The crowd instantly fell silent. A moment later, someone shouted, "That’s fine! Meat soup and rice are good too!"

"That’s right! I can eat meat soup every day!"

"Female Qinglan, don’t close the stall! We’ll buy whatever you cook!"

The sudden change made Su Qinglan almost laugh.

How quickly they had changed their minds!

"Are you sure? Because I won’t be changing the menu for the next two weeks."

"We’re sure!"

"That’s right! We can eat these dishes for two weeks!"

One beastman even patted his chest confidently.

"Female Qinglan, you don’t understand. I’ve already tried cooking at home. Buying food from you is much easier!"

The people around him immediately nodded.

They had thought cooking would be simple. After all, it was only a matter of putting meat, vegetables, and water into a pot, wasn’t it?

Yet when they tried it themselves, things had gone terribly wrong.

Some had added too much water. Others had forgotten to add enough. A few had burned their meat so badly that even their dogs refused to eat it.

One beastman grumbled, "I wasted half a piece of meat trying to make soup yesterday. My female stared at me as if I had committed a crime!"

Another sighed heavily.

"My female told me not to touch the cooking pot ever again."

Someone nearby laughed.

"At least your female only scolded you. Mine chased me out of the house because I nearly burned the kitchen!"

The crowd burst into laughter.
