Teng Yunxiao discovers his beast core was stolen and he was imprisoned in the Lower Domain, realizing his son's presence there was the only reason anyone from the Upper Domain would ever find him. His despair is broken by the appearance of his grandson, Xiao San. Meanwhile, Liang Rou is plagued by nightmares of her past actions towards her teacher, which she desperately tries to hide from her mate, Cang Ling.

Tears welled up in her wild eyes as she glared at him with pure mania. "I am terrified! I am dreading the moment the teacher comes to question me! I am dreading him asking me why I did that to him! Would he resent me?! Wouldn’t all of you resent me as well?! Haven’t all of you always wanted the teacher to hate me?!"

She pointed a trembling finger at Cang Ling’s chest, her tone growing increasingly frantic. "Were you not happy back then?! If Teacher were still alive today, he would hate me to death! Now tell me, Cang Ling... are you happy now?!"

She looked completely crazy, her body trembling violently as if she might do something reckless at any second.

Cang Ling’s eyes narrowed. He immediately reached out with lightning speed, grabbing both of her shoulders in an iron-tight grip to pin her in place and stop her mad thrashing."

Liang Rou, do not pin your blame on me!" Cang Ling roared, his voice cold and stern.

This time, even Cang Ling refused to take her hysterical outbursts.

To him, Teacher was his absolute reverse scale...a holy, untouchable existence. What Liang Rou had done to Teacher was an unforgivable sin that could never be washed away by time or tears!

In truth, looking at her being tormented by nightmares every night, a dark, hidden part of Cang Ling actually felt a sense of grim satisfaction.

She deserved to be tortured by her own conscience! After all, her selfish actions had ultimately cost Teacher his life...a sin Cang Ling could never forgive in his lifetime.

Yet, destiny was cruel. Liang Rou was ultimately his bonded female mate. He had to stay by her side, protect her, and share her path. But being her mate did not mean he would ever forget or excuse the crime she had committed against Teacher!

"Liang Rou, look at what you have become!" Cang Ling said through gritted teeth, his eyes burning with intense disappointment.

"Teacher treated you like his own flesh and blood! Have you completely forgotten what the teacher did for us?! Have you forgotten how he protected us and raised us in a world so strange and dangerous that it could have devoured us alive?!"

His voice cracked with painful emotion. "And how did you repay him?! What you did to him... you betrayed him in the most disgusting way possible!"

Hearing his sharp accusation, Liang Rou’s heart froze. A wave of hesitation flashed across her face, but it was quickly swallowed by a desperate delusion.

"But you don’t understand, Cang Ling!" she choked out, her voice trembling softly. "It was my love for him! Everything I did, I did because I love him! I wanted to be with him forever! I wanted his heart!"

"THAT IS NOT LOVE!" Cang Ling barked back without a single second of hesitation, his loud voice cutting through her words like a sharp blade.

"Liang Rou, you are so deeply selfish!" Cang Ling stared at her, his eyes filled with immense grief and fury.

"You only think about what you want, but you have never once considered what Teacher wanted! I also loved you! I loved you with all my heart! But would I have EVER thought about doing something so vile and forced on you?! Yet you did it to the teacher! You ruined him!"

Liang Rou froze instantly.

A hurt expression appeared on her pale face.

In her memory, Cang Ling had always been a quiet, submissive man in front of her. Even when she was furious and struck him or yelled at him, he had never once fought back or raised his voice. He had always catered to her every whim.

But now, the moment Teacher was mentioned, he turned on her with the exact same hurtful, condemning gaze as everyone else!

Why?! Liang Rou screamed internally, her heart aching with intense bitterness. Why are all of you blaming me?!

She knew she had made a mistake. She knew she had gone too far that night. But why couldn’t anyone understand her side?! She only did it because she craved Teacher’s warmth, his compassion, and his exclusive love!

She had foolishly believed back then that once Teacher experienced intimacy with her, he would finally realize her feelings and accept her as his female!

She had never, ever intended for things to end in disaster!

Why would I want to harm him?! Why would I try to kill the man I worship?! Why can’t any of you understand?! It wasn’t me who killed him! It was... it was just...

The words lodged in her throat. She suddenly bit her tongue, swallowing the hidden truth back down into her chest.

She lifted her head, looking at Cang Ling with a gaze full of deep disappointment, anger, and cold detachment.

With a sudden burst of strength, Liang Rou forcefully pushed Cang Ling’s hands off her shoulders, stepping backward.

"Cang Ling, you are nothing but a coward in the pursuit of love," Liang Rou said, her voice dropping into an eerily calm tone.

She looked at him as if he were nothing more than dirt beneath her feet.

"To you, love is stepping back and playing the dutiful follower. But for me? Teacher was my entire world! He was the absolute love of my life! I, Liang Rou, only live for him, and even if I die, my soul will belong only to him!"

She took another step back, her eyes shining with a mad, absolute resolve.

"So forget about me, Cang Ling. Don’t waste your time."

Without waiting for his response, Liang Rou turned on her heel and stormed down the dark corridor, her figure vanishing into the shadows of the Deep Abyss.

Cang Ling stood frozen on the icy stone floor, staring at her retreating back.

His face was deathly pale, and a look of agonizing heartbreak filled his eyes.

She talked so proudly of her grand, obsessive love for Teacher... She claimed she lived and died only for him.

Liang Rou... Cang Ling thought, his fists clenching so tightly that his nails bit deep into his palms, drawing blood.

You speak of your love for him so passionately... But what about my love for you?
