Clumsy Beast, Keep Your Paws Off Chapter 822: Yue Yue is Kidnapped?

A few days later, the warm afternoon sun bathed the backyard of the big house in golden light.

The cubs were all playing outside. Yue Yue, the little snake cub, was happily basking in the sunlight alongside her twin wolf sisters, Lulu and Ruru.

Yue Yue slithered closer and snuggled up against Lulu’s soft face. Looking up at her elder sister, Yue Yue hissed softly in her sweet cub voice, "Sister, you are so beautiful."

Lulu looked down at her tiny younger sister. She gently stroked Yue Yue’s smooth scales with her hand. "Yue Yue is also very beautiful."

Yue Yue pouted her little mouth, tilting her slender head to the side. "When will I become human?"

Even though the cubs were from different species...wolves, tigers, and snakes, they could surprisingly understand each other’s words with complete ease.

Perhaps it was because they were siblings, or simply because they had been together since the day they were born, but they never had any trouble communicating.

Lulu looked up, thinking hard. She wasn’t entirely sure when Yue Yue would transform.

Out of the younger litter, four of them... Lulu, Ruru, Mao Mao, and Ciao Ciao had already successfully transformed into human forms.

The only one left in their group who hadn’t transformed yet was Yue Yue.

But that was maybe because Yue Yue was technically two months younger in physical development; she had taken two extra months to hatch from her egg! That was why her growth was a little bit behind the others.

Lulu racked her small brain to find a good answer. Finally, she patted Yue Yue’s head to comfort her and said, "After two months, Yue Yue will also take human form!"

Yue Yue froze for a second before her eyes lit up and she broke into a wide, happy grin.

Finally! Soon she would also look like a pretty doll, just like her sisters.

Yue Yue began imagining what her human form would look like.

Will I have orange hair like Mother? White hair like Father Han Jue? Or black hair like my own father? Her eyes sparkled with pure excitement at the thought.

Nearby, the rest of the cubs were running around energy-filled.

Suddenly, Mao Mao ran past, holding a bright, juicy fruit he had gotten from who knows where. Seeing the sweet treat, Ruru’s ears perked up instantly, and she scrambled to her feet, running off to join Mao Mao in a heartbeat.

Lulu and Yue Yue watched them go, shaking their small heads in amusement. It seemed Ruru was quite a glutton, just like her brother Mao Mao!

Neither Lulu nor Yue Yue wanted to run after them, though. They were already completely stuffed from lunch and feeling blissfully lazy from playing in the garden.

Settling down together under the warm breeze in the backyard of their spacious home, the two sisters curled up against each other.

Within minutes, their breathing slowed, and both of them fell fast asleep under the peaceful afternoon sun.

The warm afternoon slowly faded, making way for the cool breeze of early evening.

Lulu stretched her little legs, let out a soft wolf yawn, and slowly opened her eyes. She expected to see her tiny snake sister sleeping right beside her, but the grass next to her was completely empty.

Lulu blinked her blue eyes in confusion. She looked around the quiet garden. "Yue Yue?"

No one responded. Only the rustling leaves answered her.

Lulu stood up. She trotted around the backyard, checking under the large bushes, behind the wooden benches, and near the stone wall. But Yue Yue was nowhere to be found.

Thinking her sister might have gone to play with the others, Lulu hurried toward the front yard. There, she saw Mao Mao and Ruru happily playing with Stove with little Hua.

"Mao Mao! Ruru!" Lulu called out, running up to them. "Have you seen Yue Yue?"

Mao Mao tilted his head, his mouth still smeared with fruit juice. "No. Isn’t she sleeping with you in the backyard?"

Ruru shook her head. "We haven’t seen her since afternoon."

Lulu’s little heart began to beat faster.

The house was quieter than usual today because the family was split up. The three elder brothers... Xiao Yi, Xiao Er, and Xiao San had gone out hunting with Father Hu Yan and Father Han Jue.

Xuan Long and An Mu had also gone out somewhere to do their secret work.

Inside the main house, Su Qinglan was taking a long nap in her bedroom with Ciao Ciao curled up safely in her arms. Both mother and cub were fast asleep.

That left only Shi Feng and Rong Ye at home. They were currently busy in the side room, hard at work.

Since the eight cubs were growing bigger every day, the single large family bed was becoming far too small for everyone.

Su Qinglan had suggested building a bunk bed...a wooden structure with beds stacked one on top of the other, and Shi Feng was using his crafting skills to build it with Rong Ye’s help.

Lulu rushed into the house, her little feet clicking against the floorboards. Ruru and Mao Mao followed right behind her, sensing that something was wrong.

They ran straight into the workshop room where Shi Feng and Rong Ye were measuring smooth wooden planks.

"Father Shi Feng! Father Rong Ye!" Ruru called out urgently. "Have you seen Yue Yue? She’s not anywhere!"

Shi Feng froze, a wooden board still in his hands. Rong Ye immediately turned around, his purple eyes turning sharp.

"What do you mean she’s not anywhere?" Shi Feng asked, his gentle voice turning tense. "Wasn’t she taking a nap with you in the backyard?"

"She was!" Lulu said, her voice trembling slightly. "But when I woke up, she was gone! I searched the whole yard, but I couldn’t find her!"

Shi Feng and Rong Ye immediately set their tools down and hurried out of the room.

"Don’t panic yet," Rong Ye said calmly, though his expression had already darkened. "She’s probably just hiding in one of the rooms."
