Arianna questions Asher about his passive cultivation skill, but he claims he doesn't know how he created it. They joke about her skill-copying abilities before agreeing to a hand-to-hand spar. The fight begins, and Arianna lunges, but Asher easily dodges. He counters with a palm strike and then a kick, knocking her off balance. She attempts a head kick while balancing on one hand, but Asher blocks it, and she uses his arm to propel herself into a defensive stance.

_____

Her head snapped upwards towards Asher’s position. The moment her head snapped upwards, all she saw was a foot closing in on her forehead.

Her body moved on pure reflex; she didn’t block, her body moved faster than her mind as her back snapped backwards as she bent, her spine becoming parallel to the ground. The moment she bent, she felt the force behind Asher’s attack blow through her face as his foot streaked past her in a blur.

Asher smirked as he paused his motion midair, then rotated midair as though midair movements were just a suggestion. As he rotated, a right-foot toe attack turned into a left-foot heel attack. While still midair, the heel of his foot came down with a thunderous blast towards Arianna’s chest without a shred of mercy.

Arianna, seeing the coming attack, immediately put up a defence as she crossed her arms against her chest, her spine remaining parallel to the ground. With a thunderous boom, Asher’s foot met her forearms, the force traveling through her body.

Her knees threatened to buckle and her back moved to slam into the ground, but she held on as the sand under her feet gave way and the earth beneath shattered. She transferred the force to her legs and shot herself backwards.

She rotated, landing on her feet, but the moment she landed, she blasted up a wall of sand with her leg to shield herself from another attack. But she had miscalculated, as Asher had anticipated something like this happening.

Through the wall of sand, huge rocks from a destroyed jagged pillar shot out, each aiming towards Arianna’s body with immense speed and power. Arianna moved again, her fist a blur as she destroyed each rock with a punch as she leaped backwards.

The moment she leaped backwards, Asher appeared beside her in a blur as though he had teleported. He sent out a fist towards her temple with a smirk on his face, as he was truly enjoying this.

Arianna immediately landed. She didn’t dodge like last time, she didn’t block like last time. The moment her feet met the sand, she punched outwards, their fists tearing through the sound barrier and wind barrier, and with a thunderous blast, both fists met midair.

The moment both fists met, an all-encompassing shockwave screamed outwards, rampaging through everything in sight. Sand dunes exploded, the jagged rocks shattered as dust and sand raged through the air.

Neither of them took a step back. The moment the two fists met, they unleashed another attack, fist meeting fist yet again, then again, then again and again. Their hands were a blur as they seemed to want to know who possessed the strongest fist.

With a booming force, the ground under their feet shattered and gave way. Before gravity could claim the both of them, their feet touched the air as though it was solid, and they pushed upward, ascending towards the sky.

Knees met palm. Elbows met deflection. Finger attacks met evasion. Fist met fist. Feet met ducks.

One was a blur of black, the other was a blur of purple, their streaks intertwining endlessly through the sky without even flying.

As Arianna unleashed yet another punch, Asher deflected it to the side, caught her wrist, then sent out a punch towards her ribs. Arianna’s instincts flared to use Astra energy, but she suppressed it.

Asher’s attack landed with pinpoint accuracy, the force traveling through her body as she shot skyward, the momentum and force causing her to lose control over her body.

As she struggled to regain control, and before she could, Asher appeared above her in a blur. The moment he appeared, he punched downwards with a grin. The attack connected with accurate ease, Arianna’s body folding forward like paper, then momentum shifted as she shot downwards like a missile.

With a boom, she slammed into a sand dune that shattered as the sand tore upwards in waves, her back slamming into the earth below. She felt pain course through her entire body as it traveled from her back.

But she didn’t have time to feel the pain as she heard the air tearing. She didn’t need to see the attack; she already knew it was incoming. She pushed off the ground as she vanished in a blur. The moment she dodged, Asher’s body appeared in a blur with a grin on his face and his arms folded across his chest.

With a boom, he landed on Arianna’s former position with devastating force, his feet meeting the earth as a ravine tore open, shooting stones upwards with scattering force. He didn’t move; he remained where he was, his hands still folded across his chest as he spoke in a cool tone.

"You’ve certainly improved, Arianna, but unfortunately, this level won’t be enough to satisfy me," he stated as he met her gaze through the sands that fell as though they were rain. "So I will be picking things up a notch. I hope you survive, Arianna-chan."

Arianna didn’t speak, her face turning into a grin as she shot forward instead, Asher’s words only riling her up even more. Seeing her move, Asher took a step, the air barrier where he took the step shattering as he crossed the distance before Arianna could even arrive.

Arianna paused abruptly as she tried to recalibrate her speed and motion, but it was already too late as Asher’s knee met her jaw with staggering impact. Her head snapped sideways, her body following as it shot in the same direction.

Arianna was speechless. She couldn’t understand how Asher was suddenly moving at such speed, and even the force of his attacks was even higher than before, as though he had been holding back all along.

She rotated and caught herself, but the moment she did, Asher was already there, his hands still crossed against his chest, his leg a blur as he unleashed two hundred high-speed and high-strength whip kicks to her shoulder, neck, temples, and the top of her skull within a single second.

Arianna’s eyes shone as her brain seemed to recalibrate as though to match speed of the incoming attack. Her hands rose like flowing water. She didn’t block; no, she deflected, her two hands streaking as she deflected each kick to the side, her mind seemingly taking in the attack, her reflexes allowing her to keep up.

But despite her speed and insane reflexes and reaction time, she couldn’t block it all, as she managed to block only a hundred and ninety, the remaining ten landing with savage impacts. Her body shot backwards, pain tearing through her shoulders as she had prioritized her head and face throughout the attack.

She landed, her left shoulder dislocated, but she didn’t care. She simply popped it back into place. She rotated her left shoulder as though testing if it was as good as new.

Her amber-gold eyes shifted towards Asher as they stared at each other. She gazed at his folded arms as she understood that he made no plans to use his hands from here on out.

"Aren’t you looking down on me a bit too much?" she asked jokingly.

Asher gave a smile. "I’ve made too many improvements in the past eight months. I’m afraid if I use my hands, this would be over in a couple of seconds," he stated, purposely sounding boastful.
